whew...looks like it adds a quite a bit of a hike to get to either park.... thanks! When the time comes, I'll have to decide based on price I guess....

Looks like DD’s school is only delayed today, not canceled. Oh well, we’re already settled in to our Disney plans this week. Never gone to Disney before with no planning! Lol. Expectations are low, but I’m super happy to have had a stash of gift card $ at the ready. Got them transferred on the new website to a physical card we bought at a Walmart in Miami. Going the economy route and staying at Pop. Got two day base tix, going to epcot today and MK tomorrow. Friday we’ll probably go to DS, then fly home to the Great White North Saturday morning. I wouldn’t have minded staying in the keys all week, but DD loves it here and this is her trip. Wish I would have brought better walking shoes - that’s my main regret. I have my Clark’s flip flops, Rothys loafers, and boots (not made for walking ).

Southwest 80k Offers remain ALIVE. Some of the support links might show a "redirect" box you have to X out of but the offer is there, and the application still loads! So we're now well over a week past the apply by date on these and they're still going strong.

I know of a friend who used their spouse's support link on this the other day and they said the bonus tracker shows up so the offer is still good!

I'm not sure who would be among us that's interested in this offer who has NOT yet applied... but if you are "that person" and you feel like I'm talking to you right now... then what are you waiting for?

I need another month or so to get under 5/24. If I miss it I'll wait until another good offer.

Google Maps says it's a 5 minute add'l walk and I've found that we typically walk faster than their estimates so I'm thinking 3-4 minutes. I wouldn't let <5 minutes of walking affect my hotel decision personally - I'll base my decision on some other factors though once it's open and I see some reviews of the place.

My wife and I are currently past the 24 months on some of our cards. She had cards opened on 02/10/19 and 02/12/19 and I had one opened on 02/12/19. These are the dates that Credit Karma shows the account was opened. Can we apply now for a new card or is there a specific amount of time we should wait after we hit 24 months?

3 schools of thought on this:

1) Super Aggressive: once 2/1/21 hits, you're good to go... probably ok, but seems risky
2) Middle of the road: Wait until 2/13/21 and then you should be ok
3) Super Conservative: wait until 3/1/21 to be ultra safe

I think most people feel good about #2 which is where you're at now.

Other things to make sure of - whomever is applying is at least 24 months removed from their last Southwest personal card bonus, correct? (Or they've never earned one). Also - have you evaluated whether a MDD is right for you to get 2 cards + an easier/quicker path to Companion Pass? More details about that on DISchurners too.

I thought SW was 24 months since bonus?

Is it bad that the first thing I thought of with the Swan Reserve, was Oh great, more people using the IG and walking to HS??

My $10 restaurant credit doesn't show yet, but it was only from last week, but the charge never came through either from Portillos. I ordered online a week ago today, dh picked up the cake on Friday, the charge was pending that whole time, and all weekend, and now it's just gone. Not pending and not charged. Very odd.

Once again I find myself with fraudulent charges on my Citi DC. I just opened it last May, then had a huge ($1000+) fraud charge from a foreign country almost immediately. Like I would buy something from the UK in Swedish currency. The latest is a $0.14 charge from Colombia, followed by another small pending charge from Columbus Ohio. What is up with their fraud dept? I gave them a 2nd chance after the first issue, definitely cancelling it now.

We're not at the place where we need companion pass. We really only fly every two years to Disney. When our kids get to a point where they can stay home alone and my wife and I can travel more I'll look into it. My wife has never had a Southwest card and my last bonus was well beyond 48 months ago. I thought with the Southwest cards you could get the bonus every 24 months and the Sapphire cards were 48 months?

Oh I'm so jealoussssss I haven't stayed there, but visited many times..... I wish I was a FL resident I"d love to hang out at FW right about now..... (It's a cold winter)

We’ve never been there either so I’m excited! We’ve been talking about renting an rv to go camping and I think this will be even better.

Mental note--don't call mom in Naples and ask how the weather is because I will be jealous.

We are getting more ice here tomorrow. But I'm just thankful I'm not in Texas. And didn't lose power last weekend. Praying I don't lose more limbs tomorrow/Friday. My backyard is a total mess right now.

I try not to complain about our weather right now even though we’ve been getting a lot of rain. It’s still warm and we do get some sun here and there. We spent 4 days swimming recently so it’s really not bad. We sometimes swim even though it’s sprinkling since we heat the pool.

You're right - sorry, I got my Sapphire and SW cards mixed up for a moment, hahaha! I'd still consider the MDD... just briefly, because of how lucrative it is, but make the best decision for you!

I wouldn't worry about the IG/DHS affect out of Swan Reserve. I think the Skyliner impact was way higher than that and it had me pretty scared too and the affect seemed negligible to me once it was all said and done.

I can say every night when we left Epcot I was so grateful to be walking and not in the insane Skyliner line! And at that point, it had literally been open for a day (it opened in the middle of our last trip)

Absolutely, we wouldn't stay at those resorts or want to depend on it for transport either, lol! I don't think it impacted our park entry experience though or the walk.
