I promised points to my son for him and his fiance to use so that takes care of part of 2022 and 2023. The rest are for me, lol.
I tried to give my daughter points from our trip last March that we had to cancel.. She was supposed to be there right now ( has this week off from school). But she can’t go now either. We scheduled a trip for September instead since that is when they expire. I am sure any one of our kids would gladly use any of our points once they can travel more easily. Both daughters are teachers so it’s the quarantine upon coming home that is the issue for them.

Fiance is also a teacher. Her school system is very reluctant about returning to school so she is still teaching from home. They were supposed to use points this fall but decided to push it out a bit. I'm not sure when they are going to use the points but first dibs is for them. Older daughter has benefited many times.

We’re thinking about staying at the fort wilderness cabins for ds’s first birthday in April. We’ve literally gone nowhere since last March lol. So this would be a big deal. We figured we’d be in our own cabin, can bring food from home to cook, can bring our bikes and bike trailer to pull him around, rent a golf cart, use the splash pad, and see the horses. I’m super excited. We haven’t booked yet because sometimes the Florida resident rates go down the closer you get and we aren’t completely set on dates yet.

Has anyone stayed in the cabins? Advice or tips?
Oh I'm so jealoussssss:rotfl2: I haven't stayed there, but visited many times..... I wish I was a FL resident I"d love to hang out at FW right about now..... (It's a cold winter)

So, I was messing around this morning and used my 50K Marriott certs to book a couple of nights at Swan Reserve for end of September. Chances are slim that I will go and/or keep this reservation but it just looked like a fun thing to do spur of moment.

Right now, hotel opening is 1st of September and who knows if it will even open?

Finally just got the credit for FEB. 4 Hilton $5 dining and Marriott $15 wireless.
Still no Amex Platnium for PayPal from Feb. 1. Might just use PayPal again later this month at target.

I just noticed I got credit for a Feb 10th paypal transaction - but nothing for the Feb 4th one - same merchant, same description. :confused3

Feb 5th HomeChef credit also posted this morning.

I can't find a map of this place, like walking distance to parks vs the Swolphin.... the google map shows me nothing.....
I saved this picture someone shared on the S/D thread a couple weeks ago. It looks like a decent extra little hike over to the reserve building.

We did years ago before we bought DVC (2002) . We loved it! I grew up camping at the Fort every year so it was nostalgic for me too. It's a very relaxing setting removed from the chaos of the hotel environment. Enjoy!
Currently trying desperately to get DH on board with buying a used camper so I can go here (and a few other places:scratchin)

Well, it looks like it's the first right on the driveway into the Swan if you've ever stayed there. edit: after looking at the pic again and finally noticing that the mini golf seems to abutt it on the right side, it appears to be a left right after you pass the mini golf. If you go to the Marriott website you can pull up lots of pictures of the hotel, including rooms and suites. It looks modern and fun with lots of windows and views of the Epcot ball and probably fireworks from the upper rooms facing in the right directions. If I remember correctly it's 12 stories tall which rises it considerably higher than the nearby Disney resorts. I would not consider it to be that much more of a walk to DHS than from the Swan. You can see in the website pictures.

If anyone remembers when @Tensixmom was discussing walking to DHS from CBR, it looks like the walk to DHS can connect to the DHS connector from the Swan side of the canal - it might be slightly shorter than the walk from BW.

whew...looks like it adds a quite a bit of a hike to get to either park.... thanks! When the time comes, I'll have to decide based on price I guess....

We drove by the construction zone when we were at Disney in January & it didn't seem too far removed from the Epcot area resorts in person. It could be the angle the picture was taken from, so I'll be interested to hear reports about how the walk is from that building.

Both of my daughters are teaching in person but it is hybrid so they have smaller numbers of students in their classes and some classes are online but they both teach from their schools.
