Thanks for the response. That is a good idea. I have a CIP that I can ask to move some credit from. It's odd that they are only approving such small credit limits when they know people need to spend a lot to get the bonus.
right now it seems that most of us are getting the $3k CL on CICs and CIUs..frustrating for sure but better than the denials that were happening

So just got an offer in the mail (for my office) for Cap One Spark Bus Cash. $1000 for $10,000 spend in 3 months. I remember doing this one for myself a year or so ago (and was able to use the code on the mailer) but had Tuition due so made the spend quickly. Thinking of doing it for DH.

Does anyone know if Cap One frowns upon doing Venmo? That would be the only way I could do this.

Also what are their stiplulations? DH had 1 new card in July and 1 in October and 1 in November. I would be looking at March to do this when the offer expires.

I did read on DOC that the Cap One Business Cash no longer appears on Personal Credit Info (since 2020).

What are the odds international trips will be possible this summer? At this time Spain isn't letting US citizens in the country. I told myself I would make a go/no go decision March 30th.

I'm not betting on it happening. Like @havaneselover pointed out about the variants, that aspect adds on more uncertainty. I expect other nations will be requiring proof of vaccination as well as we go forward. Some airlines may too.

I'm typically pessimistic, but I am optimistic about summer travel. No great insight here, just my gut feeling that things are gonna get better.

I got a 1099-Misc from Chase and it looks like it includes my CSR retention bonus???

ETA: The retention bonus put me at $650. Without it I was at $500. So it probably cost me $50 since now I'm paying an extra $200 in taxes. Ugh.

yeah, retentions count as part of 1099 now. if u get free money from chase/amex, plan on getting a 1099 for it...
citi was the first to get sued for 1099 so they make u spend $500 for support link bonuses...

Same here - especially somewhere like Spain that relies so heavily on tourism. I fully expect travel to be possible this summer, but also expect that vaccination and/or negative test requirements to become the norm for international travel for the forseeable.

@SouthFayetteFan (and anyone else going to the parks soon): we found this to be the most helpful resource when we were at Disney World. It’s a Twitter account that (seemingly accurately) tracks wait times for each ride, each day.

https://twitter.com/wdwwait?s=21
We used it to decide when would be a good time to ride each ride. We’d look at the tweet for the park we were in for the day before (or week before, if you think your crowd is specific to the day of the week e.g. Saturday).

We’d reference both the heat map on the right (to see when the best time to ride was) and look at the average wait time for that ride.

If the current wait time for a ride was below the average wait time for the day before, we decided it was a good time to ride!

Keep in mind this is based on posted wait times, not actual.

But do you think vaccinations will be freely available by summer?

We were considering Rose Hall too, but it’s excluded from FNC. We’re eying Zemi Beach House in Anguilla or the Waldorf Los Cabos likely next year.

Thanks for that info. I hadn’t seen that list. I’ll check out the other two you listed. My kids- now adults- have never been to an all inclusive (unless you count DCL) so thought they’d enjoy that. Maybe I’ll look closer at Playa del Carmen but would love to hear some first hand reviews.

Jet Blue is pretty limited for us in the Midwest unfortunately!

Looking forward to the Feb 1 announcement with Amex. Hoping they offer something for the resort credit on the Hilton Aspire. It would be great if the cobranded cards got some additional perks like the Plat.

I am planning on downgrading my Aspire but the possibility of new benefits makes me want to hold off until Feb. 1.

The AF posted on Jan. 8 and payment is due Feb. 3 -- am I correct that it's the posting date that matters, so I have until Feb. 7 to downgrade for a full AF refund?
