Hi! Looking for my next card. My goal is earning points for overseas travel.
My most recent cards are the following:
04/2018 Chase SW business (will be cancelling this card in May. Plan to get SW cards again at the end of this year to continue my CP)
07/2019 CSP
10/2019 CF
01/2020 Cap One Spark Business
01/2021 CIP Business. Should meet the $15,000 spend by middle of March.

Some of my older cards:
07/16 Costco Citi Visa
07/06 Am Ex Cash (recently downgraded to Cash from Cash preferred) - rarely use
2015 Am Ex Delta - never use

How soon can I apply for another biz card? We have a biz where I can meet at least $5000-$8000 per month spend.
Any recommendations on another card? I planned to get the United Explorer in early January when the bonus was 70,000 points but applied for the CIP biz card instead, and now the bonus is only 40,000 points so I'm holding off on that one for now.
Do you have a P2 that you could support? You get the support points plus the MSR bonus. It depends where you are purchasing from what the best strategy may be. I
Mid April would be safer. Can your P2 apply for the CIC? You can support from your CIP for an additional 20k UR (cross support is fine, never self support).

Capital One is weird in that they don't refund AF for product changes, only if you close it. Not sure if you'd want to cash out, but it's possible to "erase" a travel charge more than once. At least that was possible on the Venture.

For the 10k charge, you might be able to pull up the 110k MR offer for 15k spend on the Amex biz plat via support. Charges over $5000 earn 1.5x. Or if you have other Amex cards, there's a targeted offer of 90k for 10k spend on the biz gold. I prefer the biz plat though since you get more benefits for the high AF, the biz gold doesn't have much to recoup the AF.
I tried to get a CSP earlier this month for DH but he was denied because his spend is too high on his cards. They are all personal cards. Would it be easier to get the CIC for him instead? He's the business owner. I would manage the card since he's not good at paying off balances and I'm the exact opposite.

Personal cards are easier than business, so he'd want to fix the issue first. Can he pay off the balances? Also want to make sure that the credit line across all his Chase cards are below 50% income or less than around $75k.

Unfortunately I think I will have to be a P1 only. DH does have a CF which he redeems for cash. Can I transfer those rewards into my CSP rewards account?

Not sure if this was mentioned.
SW flight change open. Flight for 5/8 can be changed but not 5/20 so I’m not sure if the exact date range.
Thanks!!
Thanks! I managed to change 20th reservations back to the 6th then forward to the 28th.
I also changed DD’s but the furthest it would let me go was 6/5.
Wait - so what dates do we think are included here - Are these April or May numbers you're mentioning.

EDIT - I think I figured out what you meant. I'd imagine this window should apply to flights starting on 4/12 - and it sounds like through at least 5/8. (Maybe 5/11 is the end... following same pattern as last month??)

May.
DH had 5/22-5/24, moved back to 5/6 -5/7 then forward to 5/28-5/31.
DD's flights: Same as DH but they'll be returning 6/8 (at least that's the plan), could only move return until 6/5.

I was just coming here to report this too.
And I believe you are right @SouthFayetteFan about it starting 4/12. I have flights booked 4/16 and changed three of them to 4/11 since it was cheapest and I thought within the window. I was planning to change back to 4/16, but it was showing I'd have to pay a ton more points. I nearly had a heart attack. Thankfully I had enough points that I could book new flights 4/25 that were low points and then change to 4/16. Phew!
I ended up changing 4 flights to MCO and 4 flights home and saved over 70,000 points! Worth the minor heart attack.

I think 5/8 is the last day...I tried to move a 5/9 flight and the window wasn’t there

Funny story about using our UberEats credits tonight. I ordered pickup from Fazoli's to take home. Total came to just over $30 to use up all of our credit. I still have a few more Hyatt charges to do, so I was planning on getting a couple extra breaksticks when I picked up to get another charge in. I ordered the breadsticks and the girl said, oh you got a big order, I'll get give them to you. I told her that was fine, but I'd be happy to pay for them and she insisted. The one time in my life I really wanted to pay for something, and I didn't get to!:rotfl:

We'll be at GW in July also! For 4 nights, 5 nights at HHV on Oahu. I'd love to hear what everyone's plans are. I've been trying to look at kid friendly excursions but not really sure what we want to do yet and what's actually worth the money.
What age are your kids? We did 9 nights on Oahu last year (5 at HHV and 4 at Aulani). My kids were 9 and 6. My 9yo loved snorkeling Hanuma Bay and having Dole Whip for breakfast after hiking Diamond Head. My 6yo loved the huge pancakes at the hotel next door to HHV (Cinnamons was the restaurant, I think) and the lazy river at Aulani. We all enjoyed the Polynesian Cultural Center. Pearl Harbor was a surprise hit with the kids (DH and I wanted to go).

We are returning to Oahu in April, staying at Aulani. We plan to take it easy and avoid crowds as much as possible. We never made it to the North Shore last year, so we plan to do that and some hikes we didn't fit in last year. The one place we'd like to revisit is Hanuma Bay.

DH also really enjoyed diving with Dive Oahu (1st dive was better than his 2nd though). He will definitely schedule another dive this trip.

For all of you who have been to and are planning Hawaii... we're looking to go this year or next. I currently have Grand Wailea booked for Aug but afraid we will have to reschedule because of DS's summer internship. I've been reading a lot of reports here of other places to stay that also sound really great. Any thoughts on GW vs Hyatt Regency or any other resort in Maui? We are limited to 7-8 days total and plan to spend enough time in Oahu to see Pearl Harbor, so maybe 2 nights, and the rest of the time in Maui. We have so many Hilton points that GW seems great and the obvious choice, but are there other properties that may be better where we can use UR/Hyatt points? I'm stingy with our URs but this will probably be the only trip my family of 4 gets to take to Hawaii together as DS graduates college next spring and will likely be getting married and on his own, so I want to pick a resort that's really great, even if a bit of a splurge.

Ok, all of this HI has made me decide to call an audible and surprise DS with a trip to Oahu for his Spring Break/14th birthday instead of going to Key West. Debating between 2 nights at The Royal Hawaiian (I have stayed here before for work many years ago and while the location is great, the rooms were really tired) and 5 nights at HHV or 7 nights at HHV. Any thoughts? The room will be on points.

We’ll position to and from the West Coast to get to HI so we lose 2 days there. We’ll use points for our flights.

I am excited to make this happen! But feel like of crazy since it is only 3 weeks away.

How did you like HHV? I am planning a trip for June 2022 and want to stay at HHV for 2-3 days when we first get to Oahu. The reviews seem don’t seem very good. (Then there are reviews that people love it) We are a family of 5 and I want to be on the beach so our options are limited.

I am also looking at Embassy Suites in Waikiki. The location seems nice being closer to shops and restaurants but it’s not directly on the beach. We have little kids so being on the beach is so much easier plus I think they will like the pools at HHV🤷‍♀️

Thanks for the feedback! My kids are 7 and 9, will be 8 and 10 by the time we go in July. Hanuma Bay is definitely on my list to do! When I went to Oahu with my dad when I was about seven I remember snorkeling there and how awesome it was, then went again when I went back with my DH on our honeymoon but that's been like 12 years ago. I'm glad to hear it's still a good experience! It's nice to hear you all enjoyed Pearl Harbor, so far we've never been there.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Greetings from sunny and warm 77 degree Houston! What a change from last week! I have a few questions:
If I PC my CSP to CSR, does that count against my 5/24?
Can I PC a Cap One Spark business to another Cap One card and does that count against my 5/24? My annual fee was charged this month and is due March 10. Don't want to lose my 368,000 points.
I got a CIP on 1/16/2021 and will meet the spend by 3/16/2021 if not sooner. Can I apply for the Chase Ink business cash now or is it too soon? I want to make a large purchase for our business at an office supply store and want to take advantage of the 5% back.
Since we live in Houston and lost our power for 43 hours and now have several busted pipes, we are going to invest in a Generac or Kohler whole house generator. Which card would be good to apply for to put this on and how should I space this out? Biz card first, then a personal card requiring a high spend? Expect to pay at least $10,000 or more for the Generac.
My current cards:
CSP 7/2019
CF 10/2019
Cap One Spark 1/2020
CIP 1/2021
Thanks for any help and tips. Neither biz or personal purchase has to happen until April.
If you haven't already tried, it's worth calling CapOne to see if they'll waive the fee. They permanently removed the fee on my Spark Cash card a few years back. I don't know if they're still doing that, but they might offer you something to keep it open.

Just coming here to say... I didn't know Fazioli's still existed! It has been since 2004 the last time I saw & ate at one, which was when I lived in Ohio. So funny because I was just explaining to my DH the other day about Fazioli's... he's never even heard of it! I guess they still existing in the Northeast?

We still have them in Nebraska and Colorado! Breadsticks ❤
