so.... is the real draw here the free night after 10? 2k isn't a lot of extra... what am I missing?

I would say 2000 bonus points IS a lot of extra with Hyatt when you consider that you can get a room at some Hyatt hotels for as little as 5000 points. Plus if you have the credit card it is 2500 bonus in addition to your base points if paying cash.

For someone going for a higher tier such as Globalist, it's also a nice deal.

When I called AmEx for the retention offer on my biz plat they asked about my business. I said consulting, she asked what kind, to which I very nicely replied "is this relevant to the retention offer" and she said no. She asked if I dealt with other businesses or would be able to use any advertising and I said that I was very well established in my field. I couldn't get off the phone fast enough!

Not to self: let all calls go to voicemail.

For me, I’m already working on Globalist and the 50K tier for ‘21 so this is just an added bonus on stays I already have planned.Big picture goal is Hawaii in fall ‘22 so if I can build up points this year it minimizes UR transfer which can be applied toward something else. I’m also a new WoH card member and am needing spend anyway so hotel stays can help my spend and earn points.

Applied DH for US Bank Biz Card (Since already met MSR on BOA and buying time before can do more Chase cards). Was not approved. Got letter in the mail. Says they were unable to verify information on the application. Any idea what they are like when calling in (since I have to have DH do this).

Question about Priority Pass - DH has a PP card from when he had a CSR (PCed to a Freedom November 2020). His PP card has a 10/31/22 expiration date. Will he be able to keep using his card until then? Or do they swipe it or otherwise check and see if the underlying CSR is still active? We’ve never used that benefit, but might on our trip to Hawaii this summer (I also now have a CSR and PP, so we could get all 4 of us in between DH and me).

Based on my credits from Feb 2, I expect yours will show up in the next day or two. Seems like 2 weeks is the new normal for some of these Amex credits.
Still waiting for the stupid $30 amex PayPal credit from February 1.

I'm so annoyed by Amex with taking forever to post the credits. It's also taking a long time to post the extra MRs for gas, etc. on my business card. I think they are counting on people losing track. I called yesterday and gave the lady an earful. I encourage you guys to chat or do the same the next time you are on. Credits aren't great if you are trying to keep track of dozens of them over 12 weeks. That's ridiculous. I'm still waiting for a my 5x reward to post on a large fuel bill and for my home depot credit to post.

failed at chat for me, despite spending 30k on my gold card... :(
Didn't work for me either with my business platinum. They told me to call. I did and no offer. She actually encourage me to product change and then change back. UGH.

I recently PCed my CSR to a Freedom and noticed that within a week or two, my Priority Pass account showed that my card had expired on the day I PCed my CSR.

Personally, I wouldn’t risk it as they say they can charge the connected card for the visit. But you may get away with it - who knows!

Greetings from sunny and warm 77 degree Houston! What a change from last week! I have a few questions:
If I PC my CSP to CSR, does that count against my 5/24?
Can I PC a Cap One Spark business to another Cap One card and does that count against my 5/24? My annual fee was charged this month and is due March 10. Don't want to lose my 368,000 points.
I got a CIP on 1/16/2021 and will meet the spend by 3/16/2021 if not sooner. Can I apply for the Chase Ink business cash now or is it too soon? I want to make a large purchase for our business at an office supply store and want to take advantage of the 5% back.
Since we live in Houston and lost our power for 43 hours and now have several busted pipes, we are going to invest in a Generac or Kohler whole house generator. Which card would be good to apply for to put this on and how should I space this out? Biz card first, then a personal card requiring a high spend? Expect to pay at least $10,000 or more for the Generac.
My current cards:
CSP 7/2019
CF 10/2019
Cap One Spark 1/2020
CIP 1/2021
Thanks for any help and tips. Neither biz or personal purchase has to happen until April.

Sorry, that won’t work. they scan your PP when you attempt to enter and they would see that it is deactivated.

Do you have a P2 that you could support? You get the support points plus the MSR bonus. It depends where you are purchasing from what the best strategy may be. I

Mid April would be safer. Can your P2 apply for the CIC? You can support from your CIP for an additional 20k UR (cross support is fine, never self support).

Capital One is weird in that they don't refund AF for product changes, only if you close it. Not sure if you'd want to cash out, but it's possible to "erase" a travel charge more than once. At least that was possible on the Venture.

For the 10k charge, you might be able to pull up the 110k MR offer for 15k spend on the Amex biz plat via support. Charges over $5000 earn 1.5x. Or if you have other Amex cards, there's a targeted offer of 90k for 10k spend on the biz gold. I prefer the biz plat though since you get more benefits for the high AF, the biz gold doesn't have much to recoup the AF.
