Alex, ill take CSP for $800 please

Yeah I think it's a bit of both. Positive that the Premier had an offer now, but bummer that the no fee offer was reduced.

I remember back in the day getting $200 Disney GC for a single purchase. So the $200 stmt credit wasn't too far fetched, even if it was almost too good to be true.

In the past I've gotten a $200 gift card for the regular Disney card and a $200 statement credit for the Disney Premier. Also been able to refer family. Seems the ability comes and goes. There is usually a $200 offer for the regular card on my DVC account but in checking last evening, I couldn't find it. I haven't seen the one purchase offer, just the spend $500 get $200 (in some form).

DH signed up for the United Biz right before Chase increased the bonus offer and was able to get confirmation that they would match him to the new bonus after meeting MSR. I wish they'd also agree to do the same with his CSP, which he applied for right before they elevated the bonus offer.

DH and I have the Disney Visa and haven't used them in over a year. Received a letter from Chase they were closing us for inactivity or we needed to swipe in 50 days to keep active. Closed via SM today.

I'll just sign up for the card again sometime soon and take some more free Disney bucks, thanks. :D

I got that letter in the mail too. I put a little spend on it though since it is by FAR my oldest Credit Card and I did not want to damage my average age of accounts (open since 2003). I am pretty sure it was my first credit card and if not for sure it was my second.

Well...Got P2 the Flex last week, now if only I can keep which blue card to use when or where straight I'd be happy:rotfl2: Of course this was the day before the support link started:mad: buuuuuuttttttt...... I'm loving the 5x at grocery and Paypal I am using right now.... and still swirling around the idea of hotel cc's before they expire bc we can't do any sapphire stuff for a few months yet....

My citi thank you card had a 5x points for online purchases up to $500. Used that with my 5% coupon for Kroger gift card mall to get a $400 target gift card. Plus I got 800 fuel points which is worth another $20 or so to me. The gift card will either go toward dd's ipad pro, ds's xbox series x, or ds's adhd medicine:)

Also used my Wells Fargo visa with 10% off at grocery stores to pick up a $100 visa (had a coupon) and a $225 Kroger gift card which I'll use when they have 4x fuel points to buy a Disney gift card.

I want to get rid of both these cards but every once in a while they are worth having (and they have no annual fee).

The struggle is real when it comes to the Chase Cards! Now that I've closed, let the applications begin! I want too many though and I know I can't do them all. So I have to decide........I'm not sure what I want to do! Obv the Biz cards keep me under 5/24 (I'm at 3/24....I hit 2/24 in Dec and 1/24 in Jan....so I guess unless I go crazy, I should be okay).

I'm looking at the....
Barclay AA Biz....honestly, I'll likely do that one today.
CIC/CIU
IHG (free have the premier)
Bonvoy
and at some point the free Hilton (but I need to cancel the Hilton biz and open an Amex slot, have 4)
Oh and at some point I'll need to look at doing a new CSP/CSR. For now I'm going to renew my current CSR (from 10/16). With the lower AF still this year, I wanna keep all the CSR perks.

I have no use for URs right now persay, but who doesn't love themselves some URs. From what the all powerful guru @SouthFayetteFan says, I shouldn't do a MDD on a CIC/IHG. So I kinda have to pick which I want to do. And then there's the 5 nights from Bonvoy. But from what I'm reading, if I'm not staying at somewhere hella nice, I might be better off waiting for a high point option instead, right? I mean I have NO travel plans right now. But maybe I could exploit the BFs perks and go somewhere nice. That would make the 5 nights worth it. Okay Bonvoy peeps, where would the 5 nights be best used (US/Caribbean areas, Europe is too hard to get to w/ him and not open yet anyways).

I guess my plan of attack is, the Barclay today.....And then decide on what to do with Chase.

Is the closing on your beach home?

HA, I wish! No....it was closing on my refi. I'm bummed that I got 2.99% and my BF just got approved for 2.75% yesterday as I was closing. Grrrrr!

LOL. See above!

Big churning first for me yesterday. First attempt at recon and changed a denial to an approval. Undecided if I wanted to use DH's last 5/24 spot I decided to switch gears and look at potential biz cards. Settled on a potential 2021 summer trip to Alaska. I applied for the Bank of America Alaska Biz on Saturday and got instant denial. After seeing a DP on reddit decided to try recon. The entire call took 5 minutes, about 4 of which was on hold. I began by asking the reason for the denial, she put me on hold, and came back with enough credit already extended to me (I currently have the BoA Biz cash with a $13K CL) and insufficient deposits with BoA. I asked if I could move some of that credit to get approved. Immediately said sure, how much of the $13k would you like on the new card? That was it. :-)

Now I need to decide if I should try for DH, he doesn't have a current BoA card and was denied for the Biz Cash in April. I can still make the trip work by using AA or Avios transferred from MR to book Alaska, but I will need to do more research on that. But I'm happy to start planning another trip. Looks like the companion fare can only be used for a purchased flight, so maybe I'll use $ that I've put in a vacation account from PYB for 2 tickets and use miles for the other three.

Still haven't applied for the CSP as I'm monitoring other opportunities and trying to maximize the points I get.

Right now, my Brilliant is my focus for my bonus offer $1000/$100 - finished that - I think - this morning with a car insurance premium. I say 'I think' because I'm going to check on it with Amex if it doesn't post fairly quickly as I was doing multiple small purchases and Amex always says 'if they qualify'. I see on DOC that some got bonus offers similar but for extra points - Happy mine was a cash offer. Now if a points bonus jumped on, I wouldn't bother at this point. I still have my $300 credit (minus 9.71) and then another $100 for the other credit, so I'll have money in the bank so to speak for my Marriott stays.

And, I'm also collecting Marriott points with the combined 10X. This only goes to 10/31, so not much longer. I think the 10X is worth it to collect prior to getting the CSP. Travelling to Florida and staying along the way at 10k, 12k, 15K rooms saves my certificates for the higher category hotels. And since most of this spend is take out, door dash, restaurant pickup, it actually beats the 4xMR from Gold or 4x- Costco Visa, 3x, 2x etc that I get elsewhere. I'm pennywise/pound foolish - maybe!

I figure I'll apply CSP by 10/20, giving me a shot at getting as many Marriott points as possible, while creating a small window through 12/31 to get the CSP done with my regular spend on groceries, utilities and insurance premiums. Meanwhile, since I know where the CSP 4K is coming from, I can field other offers on my Amex and other Chase cards.

You will note I haven't even mentioned Xmas spend.

I had a $3 bill to pay on one of my 'blue' cards. Paid the wrong Chase card and ended up with a balance of $3 still owing and a credit of $3 on the paid card. Noticed it when looking for Chase offers and paid it again. I'll get that credit used sooner or later. It was easier to pay the small amount than to 'chat' or 'call'.

Well, that was quick!! I made the insurance payment a couple of hours ago, and just got the message that 'I've earned my $100!! Yay!!! But don't remember it saying anything about card anniversary......but I'll take the statement credit over the previous Amex gifts - chocolates, luggage tracker, storage disk, etc - ate the chocolates but the other tokens landed in a drawer.

You’ve earned a $100 statement credit.
We hope you enjoy it. Thanks for letting us celebrate your Card Account anniversary with you.

It is so difficult trying to keep up with card spending.
But you have a great plan, good luck with your CSP approval
