Question because I think I might have missed something about Chase's 5/24 rule. Is it really true that you have to wait til the 1st of the month after your 5th card drops off to apply when you hit 4/24?
No. It used to be the advice, and some still prefer it, but it's not necessary. For the very conservative, waiting until the next month ensures there's no way Chase can count that will make you still 5/24.

What you do want to count is the date that's listed on the credit report ( or reports) that Chase pulls for you. You'd want to apply the day after the date listed on the report. If you want to be more careful could wait 2 days to be sure. IME that has been fine.

A few random thoughts to revisit on the CSP support link increasing to 80k:
(some of this will be a re-hash of stuff we've already discussed)
  • Quick reminder that to be eligible for a CSP bonus it must be 48 months since you last earned a bonus on either the CSP or CSR!
    • If you aren't sure if it has been 48 months, then check your Chase account and find the statement when your BONUS posted to determine how long it has been.
    • If you can't find that info, then figure out when you applied for the card and add 48 months (4 years) PLUS 4 months to be safe.
  • You also cannot be a current holder of a Sapphire card to apply for this so either PC your card to a CFF or CFU or close it before applying. PCing is the preferred method as you can likely apply a few days later. If you elect to cancel, you might need to wait longer for the system to recognize that you no longer hold a Sapphire card. As has historically been the case with Chase, if you get approved, then you are eligible for the bonus and should see it post with no issues.
  • The only way to earn both a CSP and CSR bonus is by doing a MDD and we have details on how that works here on DISchurners.
This support link offer CLEARLY shows "Apply by 11/7" so the people previously suggesting that date were not blowing smoke. As we've seen recently with the SW cards, the link might work for 1-2 weeks after this date but I would not bank on that unless you have to due to a 48 mo. restriction.

And many might be wondering, should they go for CSP/CSR or stick with the Chase biz cards?? To be honest, it's a tough call right now! Biz cards (as we've seen) are not a guaranteed approval. While nothing is guaranteed, it seems like personal card approvals are a much more sure thing. BUT these cards would add to your 5/24 status... So evaluate your options, calculate what each is worth, and make the best call for your situation! You can try to ask for help, but be advised that it's really hard to give good advice on stuff like this since personal preference and risk tolerance can vary greatly from person to person.

EDIT: FYI - it also appears that Chase updated all support links to point to the 80k offer.

FYI...the SW elevated 65k RR support links no longer work
Thanks for the heads up :D

Can everybody please update their links on DISchurners to reflect this?? I'll try to remember to check in a few days and ping those who haven't updated. We don't want to mislead anybody about the higher offer.

Under 5/24 Churners everywhere right now...

CIP?
CIU?
CIC?
CSP?
CSP/CSR MDD?

Anyone think I should ask for a match a third time now that supports links have the higher offer too? 😢🤣

And the Marriott 5 free nights...

Soooo in about a week it'll have been 3 months since my most recent card application (which was for the CSP).

Currently 1/24.

Not really loving Amex right now (still haven't had the opportunity to make that phone call to cancel the Hilton Biz... ugh) and prefer something with the most flexible points (not necessarily hotel co-branded) so I am thinking I want to stick with Chase most likely.

Current choice is just the Flex, right? I already have a Freedom...

ETA: This is assuming 1P mode.

What do you mean by the bolded? There are a lot of chase offers circulating right now but CFF is certainly a worthy contender among them.

Ok, so really, what to do?

DH has:
SW Pers 5+ yrs old
Disney Pers 5+ yrs old
CIP Biz 1/19
Cap 1 Spark Biz 1/19
Am Ex Green 1/19, was Plat but PC to Green

I have:
AU on DH SW and Disney (5+ yrs ago)
SW Biz 2/20
Kohl's 9/20

Have businesses we can apply for/thru. Both have CP already thru 2021. I like cash back or UR style cards, not really interested in the hotel specific cards yet. Intrigued by rotating categories. We do lots of spend at Sam's, Walmart, Amazon, etc. Normal years, fair amount of travel spend for businesses, but not much actual travel spend besides cruises that isn't work expenses, due to DVC and SW CPs. Don't really care about priority lounges. Would like to do Europe in 3-4 years or so, until then planning Hawaii, Alaska, NYC, and more National Parks.

Anyone want to help me create a plan? I'd be glad to use someone's support links for some advice!

Sorry, I just mean that among current Chase cards, the Flex is probably the only one I can (potentially) successfully apply for.

I don't think a CIP is in the cards (ha!) for me at the moment... probably overstayed my welcome on THAT!

You could apply for the Flex, but have you looked into their business cards ?

What about the CIC or CIU ?

Booked an NCL Med cruise for summer 2022! It's very similar to the cruise I have for summer 2021, which I'm not feeling too confident about, especially not with my parents. Past cruiser discount of 15%, 3rd/4th passenger $99, TA discount comes to about 11.5%.

I was so sad when the NCL Amex Offer disappeared. Too much indecision about which card to put it on! But then I saved a bunch of random offers and it came back! Not right away or after logging out/back in, but a few hours later (weird). Just did the same on DH's account, hope I get it there too. That would be another $300 off.
