@GlamMistress I think you were waiting on Aerosmith to cancel their Boston show - I just received an email that it is postponed until Sept 14 2021. There is a link in the email to request a refund, but you have to do so before August 8th.

Will have to consult DW on what to do - she is the Aerosmith fan.

Yep. Just came here to post about it. Officially my summer of concerts is dead. I am referring to this one as the Summer of No Fun. I am keeping these tickets and will go in September 2021. I went ahead and took the refund off of Motley Crue/Def Leppard and all the rest of my shows.

I just canceled my Hyatt reservation and the airport hotel at CVG. I wish I could have those points back in URs instead but whatever.

Now I get to battle Delta. Joy. :rolleyes2

So you will all appreciate this.

Since it's looking more likely each day that we will be cancelling Japan, my husband is convinced we should do WDW instead. He is currently watching an AP Preview/Vlog thing with a live walkthrough and he has decided he wants to go.

He also has decided he wants to stay at the Polynesian.

What say the experts? WDW in mid to late November... yay or nay? Right now I can get a RT flight on United for $75... :scared1:
If it's still open and Delta doesn't screw my flights again, I am going in December.

There's way more going on here then. What biz cards do you have and when did you get them?

What cards were you denied for, including the one that was due to your credit being frozen. Though in the future you can recon that if you unfreeze it.

And what were the other dates of the hard pulls, not just the last one. You say they are all within the last 20 months but if one was 20 months ago and the rest where within the last 7 that's way different.

Honestly, even without knowing all of this, I would say don't apply, they'll probably still deny you for the same reason, especially since it was for a freedom which they'll be more apt to give right now than CSR. But they are all tightening and we can't say how long that will continue but we can help figure out how long you can wait.

Some banks, and chase may be getting to it, are very sensitive to the previous 6 months.

I have a hard pull in May 2019 when I applied for a SW personal but forgot to unfreeze my credit. I didn't call recon because I was a newbie and didn't know that was a thing. Another pull in August 2019, but I honestly don't know why that's on there. A Cap One card approved in late September 2019, a CIP approved in January 2020. Then two hard pulls, one at the end of April 2020 and then early May 2020 for a Sapphire (didn't realize I couldn't with an ancient Sapphire) and CFU. Credit score is 810 on Experian's site.

due to the card act you can’t PC a card to a higher fee card until it’s open a year.
does he or you have a personal chase card with a CL of at least $10k that can be PCd to a CSR ?

adding after reading your posts about the Chase denial...
what other cards do you have with them and credit limits on all Chase cards vs household income ?
..this could be a factor in the denial as well

I have an original Sapphire that's a 20 year old account with them. I didn't think about the ability to PC that. I did lower credit limits to no more than $10K on each of my cards and DH's cards. We're at less than half of household income.

So perhaps call Chase and see if they'll PC the old Sapphire to a CSR? I'd lose out on the SUB for 48 months, but that still could be worth it?

Pcing a card doesn't make you lose out on the sub, getting the sub does. But you'd be best keeping it as a csr for a year and then pc it to a freedom product and apply for a csr. If you aren't looking to add a lot of new cards in the next year and want a csr this is probably the way I'd do it. PC now, use the 300 credit, not really apply for anything if you don't need to and then use the 300 credit again next July pc in August which will be well before the af hits but you'll have had it a year and then in Sept or when you are ready, apply for the csr yourself.

This way it lets some of that stuff fall off and distances the denials.

you don’t have to wait 48 months to apply for a CSR or CSP if you PC the old sapphire...but you should keep it for 1 year before changing it to a CF or CFU.
If you want to take advantage of ...pay yourself back I would PC to the CSR...then next year downgrade to a CF or CFU...and apply for a Sapphire card

You're going to have to take your luggage with you on ME starting the 16th. Really hoping this isn't permanent. They just redid the airline check in at pop too, took several months. This makes me very sad.
just saw this..we rent a car so don’t use ME to the resort but do love using the airline check in desk when leaving..

Made a spur of the moment decision today to refi LOL, it's too easy to do when you do it for a living. Now to see what our real credit scores are and how many new cards we have to explain :-)

I'm working on a refi myself. I got to keep the VA loan on the house w/ the divorce. But our agreement states I will refi out if he wants it. My ex doesn't want it right now, but he did say look into it with rates so low. My VA is 3.25%. I was just quoted 2.99% on a conventional! I'm clueless to all this, as he always handled it. But I guess it's time for another "big girl" life experience. The only thing that SUCKS is I'm right on the border of 80%. With VA there is no PMI. So I'm really hoping I appraise high enough to not have the PMI. My neighbor sold for $350k...a few houses down sold for $460k (which is INSANE). Others in my sub have sold for $360-365k. BUT the IDENTICAL floor plan to mine sold for $320k last month! I have NOOOO idea why it sold so low! I have a much better lot. So I'm HOPING I can appraise higher. I need $355k for no PMI!

And with that note, it's time to call the other companies that contacted me, LOL

Maybe you can get an appraisal waiver granted, which the value would be stated. If you got a waiver at 80% you would be all good. We got a waiver, but we are at 37%. But I see waivers all the time for values even up to 85%, so it's possible.

We're going end of November. Figured if we're ever going to do Thanksgiving Day in the parks this is the year to do it so I added 2 more nights at the start of our trip lol

I may not be able to park hop with these APs, but I'm going to get in as many trips as I can.

You might want to look into a streamline VA interest rate reduction refinance. No appraisal required. Not sure what the current rates are, but we locked in 2.75% on ours in May. We are still waiting to close, but it has been super easy and only consisted of filling out a few forms. No appraisal, and they didn’t even do a credit check.

We are still trying to close ours. They keep pushing out the closing and extending our rate lock. I guess it's fine since they're paying but I want this wrapped up before we leave for WDW!!
My DD was complaining to me a few days ago because they are closing on a house purchase on the 14th and the mortgage company was running late with something because of all the refis!

You wouldn't be able to do a VA streamline, if you are no longer married to the veteran.

That doesn't make any sense, we always prioritize purchases. Sounds like an excuse from the mortgage company.

Thank you for your help. Just called Chase and PCd the old Sapphire to a CSR with no issues at all. Now to get using that 1.5 UR advantage...

Oh, well that’s good to know. Not something I think of as I’m active duty and married to active duty, so I never think about only qualifying for something because of the marriage.

He mentioned a waiver but going at the $350k appraisal. He said I'm getting the lower rate (2.99% vs 3.125%) because it's $350k vs trying for the higher appraisal ($360k) w/ no PMI. Does that sound legit? This is all greek to me.

The main reason I'm refi is to give up the VA loan. I was able to assume it (as it can stay with the house). But in doing that my ex can't use his VA. So I'm doing this to give him back his VA loan. We get along, and he'd never be out to screw me. But he moved into a condo in the same neighborhood as me to keep our son in the same elementary school (he lives less than a mile from me). Now that he's in MS and our daughter in HS his area of houses has increased. He's said he might start looking at houses now. I would hate to sit on the VA and have him decide in 2 years he wants it and now I refi into 5% or something.

That was great info! Thank you! I'm on my second Keurig - again, my mom just bought me a new one so I have to stick with it for a bit - but I don't love the coffee that comes from it and I'm totally drooling at what all y'all can make from the Nespresso. My fav coffee drinks are Americanos. I always get a pump of white mocha and I found some on amazon so my dh got me some for Mother's Day. I've been enjoying that in my daily coffee but I'd love to be able to make Americanos!
I hate to suggest spending money in these times, but coffee is considered emergency provisions, right?? I just saw on slick deals that Macys has a sale on many Nespresso machines - 50% off!

Just curious where you say the 175/4k for Surpass. Was it targeted?
I saw it was answered - yes, in the mail.

That could be it, she is my responsible (stereotypically first-born) child so handles everything without me knowing much about it! She was concerned she was going to have to pay to wire money instead of an EFT transfer because she didn't have what she needed from them yet.

Sorry, doesn't make much sense to me LOL. I don't believe the waiver has any effect on rate. I did have one file where the rate was lower with MI, but that was a really strange situation.
