I would guess they will, but I'm also guessing that by sending this email out with concrete guidelines, they have an idea of when they are going to reopen and they excluded future UYs on purpose. Hopefully that doesn't end up being the case and they help y'all out though, it's a tough situation.
Right, my thinking as well! It's a very tough situation and while I don't want to be forced to go in July, or lose points, I understand the difficult position dvc is in and we will make the best of this however we can.

Did any of us lose DVC points for 2019 due to this? If so, check your email, they are extending the Mar and June use year points.

I was set to lose some from my Hilton Head reservation being cut short, but I went ahead and booked in September. After I got the email I canceled that booking. I also canceled my October bookings which have 2019 points mixed in but those points are good until Sept 30, 2021. So right now I've got about 250 points in play that I'm not sure what I really want to do with.

I don't see myself going in November either, but haven't canceled yet. Not sure about January or February. My trip in November focuses on food and wine festival. Reading around the Disboards, a lot of talk about phased in opening, with Epcot on the end of the chain. Food and wine is usually a zoo and I like it like that in normal times. Right now I'm not feeling it. Disney is fighting to survive like many businesses. My crystal ball tells me to wait a while before I return to Florida.

Checking in to see if @Haley R had her baby yet - I guess not.

My news - it was my final day at work. I survived the world's longest (felt like) notice period. I am FREE. It is truly an odd feeling though. Not sure what the future holds or what I am doing next, but I know I need this break.

The DVC change about borrowing sucks for someone like me who owns a small contract. I'm in a crap spot anyway. I have a Sept UY and past my banking window... I really don't think I want to go to F&W in September after all... Like @Judique says, the Florida response is not great... and it is looking like things will probably be bad in the fall according to experts.

I would hate to eat the points. I guess it is what it is... kinda bad for lots of DVC folks. I can't even get the booking tool to work for me either.

A couple weeks ago I rebooked our June California trip to August. Found decent SW flights. SW changed them. To the worst possible flights. From SNA to MDW with a stop in Vegas with no plane change to SNA to OAK with plane change then to San Diego then MDW. Who would ever take that? I think I’m just going to leave it. We’ll probably end up having to cancel anyway. ☹

SW has been changing a lot of flights...totally understand why...we were supposed to fly to Orlando in May visiting our son...I now have flights booked in June, July and August...since I’m not sure when it will be okay to go...each flight has been changed.....we have the CP one of the flights was rebooked with us on different flights...so watch your SW
flights carefully

I don’t fly JB, but my boss does..she’s been at her house in Palm Beach since the day after Christmas and wants to fly into Westchester in May...so she can go to her Pine Plains home...JB has suspended all flights into HPN and LGA until after 6/30...only flying 1, sometime 2 direct flights into JFK...she is not amused and I’m trying to figure out why anyone wants to fly into NY right now

Our, now cancelled, May SW flights were also changed and our family got put on different flights and they were no longer nonstop flights.

From ISP they still show one non stop a day...but I have been looking at the airports website and the seem to be only flying to MCO a few days a week cancelling the other days...this whole thing is so surreal

I'm actively cancelling all our May trip plans. I cancelled all the dvc nights back in March so I could bank the points before they would go into holding. I knew dvc was working with people but I didn't want any issues. But i still have banked points that we were supposed to use in April and when we cancelled that trip, they returned them to 'the bank'. So, now they have to be used by end of July or lose them. I'm really not sure I want to have to go in July but feel forced to have to take this trip, if wdw is open. I'm hoping they extend our UY for 6 mos too!
I would hope that if they aren’t open in July you would get your points extended too, but who knows. At this point I don’t know when I will be ready to go back and I did bank my points.

That’s crazy.

Our July Hawaii trip was originally from DAL to SJC with a short layover and then on to HNL. Was going to be a long day, but at least we got there in one day with only one stop.

They rebooked us to DAL-AUS-PHX-SJC-HNL with a plane change at each stop. The best part is our connecting flight leaves one hour before we land in SJC. That’s obviously not going to work.

I’m hesitant to put up too much of a fight because I’m not sure if we end up going, but I expect them to change this flight for the same fare, even though we are going to have to book multiple legs.

We have SW flights in June and July to MCO from Wichita, with layovers in St Louis and they've all had schedule changes, although nothing major and so far all have been for the better luckily. Hopefully we'll actually get to take one of them.

Sigh, I am on the SW flight change ride too.. They really changed my May/June flight so we canceled now both my July trips had minor moves. Hoping for no more changes as we can't make any of the other days flights work. That is if we even take either July trip. My work just told us to ignore all State/Local/Federal guidelines about returning to normal ect and that we are not to return at this time, and "later in the year" they will provide guidance if WFH status changes. :drinking::drinking1:eek:

We received 2 shine new Hyatt cards today. DH doesn’t even blink when I make him switch his card out of his wallet, but he does know he needs to carry a Visa at all times since his Amex doesn’t worn everywhere.

We plan to surprise our girls with a trip to universal studios this thanksgiving break, we want to stay at a hotel that includes express pass, we’ll pick the most economical hotel, but my question can I call Chase to book special rates (military discount)?

Dh and ds were on the Southwest change game too. Non stop booked both ways to KC. 90 minute flight max. Rebooked then return to a connecting flight with no email and the outbound flight was just gone, even though it said it was still there. Eventually they just cancelled them. I am sure they wouldn’t be going at this point anyway and dh said he would rather just drive then spend all day at airports.

So I got change notices for three of the four flights I have coming up, Decided to check the 4th to just make sure and it was also moved. It went from a fully booked direct flight to a layover in Chicago. Puts us in 4hrs later than the original. Argh! So I found a different flight for 3k pts where we paid 9k for the original. It won't let me change online so just going to cancel and rebook since the new flight is much cheaper.

I have 5 SW flights booked and so far only one change. Not a big change, we'll deal, just leaving MCO earlier. I just don't have the energy to put into it right now. I keep going back and forth over this July trip and whether we should do it, if possible. The DVC points I used are borrowed so I think/hope they could be returned to their use year, but I just don't have the mental energy to try and wrap my brain around it all right now.

@snugglebug We're supposed to be headed to WDW in July too and while I really want to get out of here after working so many 70+ hour weeks the other half of me feels it won't be worth the cost if there are so many restrictions or things have not cleared up. I am not sure how to even go about moving it to 2021 since I paid all but the deposit with gift cards, possibly just a single one as that was my master I always moved the money to to store it before making a payment. Not sure how they handle over $1k from a single card that was reloaded many times. Final payment/cancel cutoff is Jun19th unless they extend the Jun31st 1 day cancel policy... Seems the past few years they have opened up packages for the next year on Jun18/19 so maybe if things are looking down I can get it moved to 2021.

Having the same struggle with our July trip. I just hate feeling like we are being forced to go just to NOT lose DVC points :(

I think this is the same link that WVMomof3 posted, but just in case, I'll post it again.

Once on this page, you pick whatever you haven't yet read to read.

If you are pretty much up to date with reading, look on the right side of the page. There are two links - one to all members and another to get you to all the newest comments.

To easily see what you have already read, upvote it. You can also down vote but I haven't found anything I felt I wanted to down vote yet. This is the 2 arrows on the left of each comment.

If you stay with the links 'inside' Dischurners you really don't have to venture into regular Reddit unless you choose to.

If you get lost on any Reddit page, look to the top and it will have a list of 'my subreddits'. That's where you will find your way back home to Dischurners.

You can reply to someone by hitting 'reply' at the bottom of their post.

If you want to start your own comment string, Give it a name and post in the already open box.

This thread was started on Dischurners because it got very easy very fast to get a thread closed on Disboards, however unintentional the comment might have been. It was started as an attempt to keep comment on this thread on the topic of credit cards. We've been fortunate here for a long time, but there is a limit as to what can be discussed, which is why Dischurners was created to begin with. I hope this helps and I'm by no means an expert at this, but I have learned to find most of what is important to me.
Wow - I could not have said this better myself!! 😊

Except the link is this:

Our house painter's website said he would take a cc. Then, when it came time to pay, he said he never set it up. I had to write a very painful $3,500 check. I'd applied for a CIP back then too knowing I could use the painting to meet the spend.
This would burn me up!!
