A friend of mine recommended using Dinnerly so we don’t have to go in the stores as often. She sent me a code that let us get our first week for free and we did the family box which is 12 portions. We may even keep the subscription going so we don’t have to rely on going in the store

I hope you have better luck with them than we did... we had MAJOR problems with Dinnerly that ultimately resulted in us having to dispute charges with them with our CC company twice.

Wow really? Was it related to the food or them charging you? My friend said she’s used them for 5 months and they love it. We were planning on cancelling after the first week since it’s free but did consider keeping it

Both. We never even got our first box. They claimed the driver attempted delivery and was unable to leave the box. I was working from home that day so knew that was a lie. So they sent us a second box for "free" (and then later charged us for it) and we went around and around and had to dispute it. So we canceled our subscription after we received the second box. This was all last spring. On January 2 this year, we were charged for another box. Dinnerly claimed that we had paused our subscription for 6 months. I was like first of all I don't even believe that's actually an option lol, and secondly I definitely had zero interest in trying you guys again. They refused to refund us so we had to dispute that charge as well.

They also did weird things with the food like if there was a recipe that included fries for a meal for two people, they'd send us one potato :confused3 Maybe it's just me, but I need more than half a potato's worth of fries :rotfl2:

Like you though, I have a friend who uses them all the time and loves them. They are definitely the cheapest in the business, but in our experience, it's been for a reason.

ETA: Sorry to go off on a rant lol. The meals we had we had actually tasted good, there just normally wasn't enough food. And if you decide to cancel, maybe delete your payment information off the website before you do!

I’ll guess we’ll try it out and see if we like it. We did do the family box so it comes with 4 portions per meal. Maybe that’ll make a difference. I don’t want to deal with disputing charges so hopefully it doesn’t come to that. I’ll try to remember to take our cc info off before canceling to see if that helps

I have used Dinnerly and Freshly in the past, loved them all but I was eating out so much at the time the food ended up going to waste. Things have changed, and I had a friend send me a code for Every Plate and I am going to try that out for the next couple of weeks. Its just me in the house and I get so tired of having to plan what to eat for dinner and then go to the store and get all the ingredients. I appreciate the fact that it all comes in a box and at $4.88 a serving it seemed pretty good.

We’ve never done a subscription box for dinners before so it’ll be something new to try. Normally I would never consider it because I’m home and have no problem coming up with meals but we are trying to go to the store as little as possible. I also like that they offer chicken because we haven’t been able to find chicken anywhere

Did an oops! Got $250 Marriott GC with my BCP and my AU card of DH's BCE. Totally forgot about the different card number for his card & mine. So I have the credit on my card, but it does not show on his. Lost $50 there.

Well..... we did it. canceled our spring break trip...and while we're all sad that our planned fun is not happening,we're also less stressed considering all that could go sideways at this point with traveling far from home...:guilty: We were supposed to leave 4/11..... I still have yet to figure out if they'll give us a break on our park tix thru UR,so many other 3rd party places are so helpful with the tix right now.... my Dsis got hers from visit orlando site, they were great about a quick refund! So I have a bunch of points in my accounts....but I don't like seeing them there....I'd much rather be points poor and traveling to fun places!

another question- my Ds1 told me last night he bought AA tix to fly to Portland in Mid April. Thru Expedia. Without mentioning this to his travel agent Mom. :rolleyes1 So are there any DP's out there of being able to change/cancel a ticket like that without going thru Expedia? He still wants to go,but is considering not going if things are still bad for flying. I see the AA site says free changes thru the 31st.....

DH has watched Contagion twice. I have seen it before, but was specifically avoiding it the last 2 months. I hear The Stand is also very popular - we've seen that one, too, but it was a long time ago.

I've given thought to wiping down everything I buy from the store before putting it away but honestly I'm too lazy to do it.

We are wiping down everything that comes into the house. It's a pain.

Both of my dd's are super sweet and caring types. I really think if they could comprehend that their actions could be harmful to someone else, they'd stop immediately. It's just that this has never happened. Not in their lifetime and not even in mine. They can't see how their actions could impact anyone else if they are just getting together with friends all the same general age. It's something that is hard to really understand. And it seems we are the only parents trying to limit. Apparently, all other parents are fine with their kids getting together and going out. It makes it really hard. We had to have a very serious convo with dd17 and say, 'sorry, this is what we are going to do right now to help protect ourselves and others'. We are always the 'strict' parents and now, I guess we continue to be.

We were always those parents, the ones who were stricter and then eventually everyone would catch up with us. It's so hard, but better to be a leader and set a good example. The kids should not be congregating. There are mumblings out there (nothing sure at the moment) that kids and young adults are the vector of spread and of course they are the ones who are "hanging out" since they are home from school or working from home. :(

DD was told she should quarantine herself for 14 days and she is doing just that. Because the rest of us need to still do stuff (like taking groceries to my 85 yo Mother) that means she's pretty much limited to her room and bathroom. I'm not letting her near the kitchen, although it's making much more work for me. This is a tough time, but if we all do our part the country will get through it sooner.

Hang in there, everyone! :grouphug:

We just got a box from amazon and Dh wiped everything down

CIP automatically approved- 1st time ever with Chase.
The only other auto approval I've had is with AMEX SPG Biz.
Anybody venture a guess as to why the fast approval?

I was not looking to get another card right away but most likely the referral links won't work anymore and then it will be $15,000 MSR. So, I used DH's link and applied and I too was approved right away. That normally has not happened for me either. I may need to use Venmo to meet the MSR - especially with so many things closed. I was going to get this later and use for tuition - I may still be able to use it for that as I think DD signs up for her fall classes in a few week. I can always prepay some..

Yes, Undercover Tourist assures on website that we'll be take care of but busy signal for days.

YES! I recently had this discussion with my grandma when she was adamant about having cash. She prefers it over her CC and always uses it. I tried to explain that if someone sick was at the pharmacy, paid cash, and then you got change, you did not get sanitized money. With social distancing and delivery services not meeting in person, you need to use your CCs!
Nutty comment here but my grandma was an RN and a little OCD (she passed away in 1995) and she washed her money. Seriously. When she got change, she held out a little bag and made the cashier put the money in it. Then she took it home and washed it. And maybe ironed it.
