@wendow I'm just now getting around to taking care of my reservation. It looks like I have borrowed 2020 points as well. :guilty:

Now I really need Disney open in July. I can extend that trip and use the points. The problem is that I don't know which way to extend it until Army lets us know block leave dates. I haven't even looked at availability.

I don’t doubt for a heartbeat that your girls are wonderful. And I’m very sorry my friend if my message would have come off that way. I have probably obsessed about this virus more than the average person because of the changes my mother has gone through lately.
I was not offended in any way! I understand why you are more worried about this with your mom. My dd is driving to TX with a friend on her way here and they will pass within 10 mins of my 91yo grandma but I don't want them stopping. I know it's breaking my grandma's heart but it's just too risky, especially considering that they are coming from wdw.

I was not looking to get another card right away but most likely the referral links won't work anymore and then it will be $15,000 MSR. So, I used DH's link and applied and I too was approved right away. That normally has not happened for me either. I may need to use Venmo to meet the MSR - especially with so many things closed. I was going to get this later and use for tuition - I may still be able to use it for that as I think DD signs up for her fall classes in a few week. I can always prepay some..
So the referral codes are still working, right? DD was about to apply...

She said this is the calm before the storm for her.
I’m pretty sure this is how everyone at work feels. Our hospital census is actually a little low now since elective surgeries and procedures are being cancelled. I am not allowed face to face contact with patients. I feel for the poor nurses, like they are being thrown into the fire.
Not a single one :P Though they'd probably last 15 years unopened so maybe I should reconsider.
Those and Twinkies. They’ll last forever
My dd and all her friends were there Sunday night. She doesn't get it. None of the kids this age seem to. My dd17 is doing remote high school and college and all activities are cancelled. Her phone is blowing up constantly with kids wanting to hang out, go to the park, go wherever they still can, etc. It's driving me nuts how they just seem so oblivious. When I try to explain what the effort is here and how we are all playing a part in preventing the spread and that the sooner we get control of this, the sooner we can get back to normal life, she looks at me like

That's for you, @SouthFayetteFan
It’s the age. Hard for them to fully comprehend consequences, which is why drinking age, etc are over 18. When it comes to healthcare, it’s frequently an issue for diabetics when they get to like 14-21 age group. They think they are invincible, it will never happen to them etc. It’s so hard and we get lots of admissions with Type 1 diabetics who just stopped taking insulin (even though they’ve been diabetic for years) especially if mom/dad helped manage and then turned management to the kid as they got older. It’s a tough age.
But I want to call them out and publicly shame them, I know that's bad of me. I can only hope that people get used to practicing better hygiene overall because of this current situation.
You can call them out without public shaming. I have politely asked a cashier/food service worker to change gloves.
YES! And sometimes it is just a lack of awareness and proper training. I saw someone disinfecting menus at Cheesecake Factory without gloves. OH and she was eating Doritos in between wiping the menus 🙄

I also watched Contagion last night!!! It was on Cinemax so why not?!
The no gloves isn’t really a problem (gloves are often dirtier than hands because they are not changed often enough) but the eating while cleaning is :crazy2:
I have a feeling it's coming to that soon here in DC because people are just not getting it. The mayor had to order all bars and restaurants to close because they were packed over the weekend.
Yep, in Chicago too. Governor closed down the restaurants and bars.
Well..... we did it. canceled our spring break trip...and while we're all sad that our planned fun is not happening,we're also less stressed considering all that could go sideways at this point with traveling far from home...:guilty: We were supposed to leave 4/11..... I still have yet to figure out if they'll give us a break on our park tix thru UR,so many other 3rd party places are so helpful with the tix right now.... my Dsis got hers from visit orlando site, they were great about a quick refund! So I have a bunch of points in my accounts....but I don't like seeing them there....I'd much rather be points poor and traveling to fun places!
I just cancelled our hotels for Spring Break, which starts 3/28. 😢
Restaurant and activity reservations have been cancelled by the purveyors. I haven’t cancelled flights yet, but I will by this weekend.

Yep. It's really tough. I don't think they would be socializing if we could get through to them. But can we?

At this point, I would. Is it overkill? Maybe.

I santitize mine before I put it back in my purse since I've juat touched it with germy hands. The little alligator eating the bottle of sanitizer (bath and body works if you are familar with thwir crazy holders) gets it otherwise what's the point kinda?

Obviously ignoring my car keys 😁 I do the same to a card if I have to hand it over.

Re: explaining germs to kids. If you covered them with glitter, then they went and played games at a friends house. Their friend would be covered in glitter, the house would be, the door knob would be, the sofa would be. How can they be sure that the next person to sit there isn't someone who would be hurt by the virus? Maybe nobody in the house is. But now their friend has glitter on them, and they grab a dollar - now covered in glitter - and go to the grocery store to buy something. They hand their glitter dollar to the clerk... etc etc. down the line. It's a really basic concept, but I found with teens making it something they can visualize helps. I used to do this on a small scale with lotion and glitter for the elementary set to explain germs. :p

@ten6mom So our city finally caught up, and after a very stressful day we got it worked out on what calls our officers would respond to in person and what we can direct them to send an email or take a report over the phone. We also changed our EMS to ask the Flu questions for all EMS calls, no matter what the inital symptoms described are. That got kicked off with a possible heart attack call and when the Responders got there the lady said she had been traveling and the responders had not been taking extra precautions at the begining, ( I don't know why the responders weren't following the new rules anyway, but I don't drive the bus, just answer the calls).

I don't remember who mentioned it earlier, but they had mentioned mental health with all the lock downs. I can say without a doubt our Violent disturbance calls have already started going up and calls with people hurting themselves. We usually don't see the call volume for the more severe call types during the daytime except during the holidays.

In CC news, I'm holding off on my next CIP because with the lockdowns spend will be down.

It's looking like our June Alaska cruise will be cancelled. It's up to the MIL if we reschedule. She's in her 70's and this trip was for her. I paid for this trip across several different cards, so I'm wondering how the refunds will work. Will they put it all on one card of my choosing or just send it back the way it came? This ought to be interesting. So far it looks like I can get refunds for everything except the excursion I booked for 10 ppl in Juneau, they only want to give credit for a future date. That's $1200 I'm going to have to figure out how to convince them to refund at least a partial. My family may still cruise, but I don't think my BIl and his family and my parents are going to try again for Alaska.

I love this analogy. Off to find the glitter for 7yo granddaughter.

Both my DW and DD19 are Type 1 diabetics. They are pretty much in control.
