And FYI: the manipulated thing is sort of something I’ve kept on DISchurners mostly since I discovered it awhile back. I don’t have an issue with the limited discussion this morning but let’s maybe take that back to the underground now 😊
Do we have that pinned in the dischurners sub? If it is we can just point ppl there instead of talking about the method.

I actually tried to do a search on dischurners and couldn't find it (before it was posted here). But truth be told, I'm not super reddit savvy....

Well, I am sorry you will miss your vacation. But everyone has to make their own decisions and if you feel more comfortable staying home then that's the best decision for you. Did you ask about an exemption for holding points? They are usually pretty good about this, so if you didn't I'd do it asap and try to get them restored.
Thank you for your understanding. Yes, I did ask and MS took care of us. :)

Speaking of Navy Fed credit card options, my wife got this offer, which isn't as good as a CIP, but seems like a good "in-between" card for those that aren't pushing the 5/24 limit:
Flagship Rewards VISA Signature
50k bonus ($500) for $4k spend in 90 days
Up to $100 for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck
3x points on Travel
2x points on Everything Else
No Foreign Transaction Fees
Cell Phone Proteciton
$49 Annual Fee

That's the card I got last year. Don't they still have offer on this same card for free authorized user cards up to 3 or 4 more with each getting a Global entry $100 credit?

This chart could be useful to approximate when your travel time may become available for upcoming releases, however they don't always follow the exact same pattern (as you can see above) They appear to be tightening the inventory a bit this year vs. prior year's releases.

RELEASE TIMES:
  • the release on 3/12/20 went live at 9:40am.
  • The release on 12/11/19 went live at 9:10am.
  • The release on 10/30/19 went live at 7:15am.
  • The release on 9/26/19 went live at 7:30am.
  • The release on 8/15/19 went live at 10:41am.
  • The release on 5/30/19 went live at 9:20am.
If you want to search back for this post in the future - just search my name and "release". But be advised that I will not go back and update this post if they alter the next release date in the future.

It's in version 2.0 of the News Thread HERE.

Normally in advance of release I do an updated write-up on it but I just haven't had time lately to update the news thread and nobody else seems to want to help out there unfortunately.

EDIT: I added the tip as a reply to my post in the new v3.0 News Thread today. So it will be easier to find now next time.

Coronavirus. Boeing. And a few other entities it's better not to put a name to.

That is a great card. There is a limit of 4 AUs at no extra cost. You get TSA credit for cardholder and AUs. I used mine to cover 3 GEs and I have one credit left.

Oh no! That would be big bummer to not have nonstops......Hopefully that is only temporary and they will add more flights later.

This is great news from SW

We know getting more time with the people most important to you is everything. That's why we're spreading the love of one of our most-coveted A-List and A-List Preferred perks. Starting March 12, anyone on a reservation with an A-List or A-List Preferred Member can board when they do.* That means everyone on the same reservation gets to board together and pick their seat earlier.
That's great! Of course I book everyone separately and purchased EBCI for our next trip. I think my A-list expires between the next two trips.

I booked our September flights, but I had to do a separate reservation for DH since he had some travel funds to use. I noticed that our return flights dropped about 1000 points from when I booked my flight and his, so I already rebooked to save those points. Just FYI that some prices might actually already be dropping for flights they released less than an hour ago :confused3

So far, two of our four flights booked this morning have dropped!

Not ours! 2 out of 4 are higher, other 2 the same

Just heard that all the late night talk shows in New York will be taping without audiences for the time being!

Moved more of my cash savings into a 1 year CD this morning. Rate is already 0.2% lower than the one I opened last week.

My flight for Saturday just dropped. Less than 1k points and I have a companion to rebook. Not sure if it's worth the hassle.

I have a coworker in France. Wonder if she'll get out in time.

Wish they had done this at least a week ago. Once this started exploding in Italy, common sense said it was going to spread fast throughout the Continent.

We all need to do our part to flatten the curve. Wish people weren't so stinkin' selfish.

ETA: Oh, wait. The travel restriction is for foreign nationals? I'm so lost!
I was also surprised it was for foreign nationals only. I assumed it would have been the same as the China restrictions, which were for anyone (Right? Maybe I got that wrong?).

The rapidly changing landscape is making me think we should cancel WDW next week. I'm positive it's already in our community (no confirmed cases, but many close), but I don't want to contribute to any spread. DH is not there yet, but he did call DVC yesterday. I assume we'd lose Cirque tickets. :-(

I did just book flights for a WDW trip for Oct and our return flights from Seattle in Aug. I used every tool.in my tool kit - companion pass, travel funds from the loophole, Amex credit for under $100 leg, and other DISChurner advice. 😉

I am now stressing out. I have been chill on the coronavirus stuff, but it's apparently getting to me. We are 36 days from our Disney trip. Which give me 5 days to cancel and not have my points end up in holding. Although reading here, it seems maybe they are willing to work with people? I really don't want to cancel, I want to go. I almost wish they would just shut down the parks and make my decision for me. I would be screwed on flights, I don't know what we could use the credit before it would expire, flying Delta. Ha, checked the prices on our current flights, BIG mistake LOL. 11k points or $168 cash. We paid soooooooooooo much more than that. I have never seen $168 round trip non stop on Delta out of here before. If we end up going I was going to see if I could rebook at comfort plus, since it's still less miles and cash than what we paid.
I have no idea what to do at this point. Still going to wait it out at least until 31 days out to see what happens.
I also booked dd and I for July yesterday on Delta, so I'm sure those flights will get much cheaper LOL. I want to book our hotel through AA but I am holding off because if our April trip goes south, I will then have DVC points to work with. Of course if I wait too long there may be no DVC rooms left.
What is the cancellation policy on AA hotels, I don't think you can without a fee, correct?
DH and DS also have a Nascar race trip at the end of May but I am not super worried about that one at this point. I kinda think it's all going to blow up really quickly now, and that might be calmer in 2 1/2 months.

With all the craziness we forgot to book our DVC room exactly at the 7 month mark and I can attest that DVC DVC bookings for the fall have not weaked at ALL! We were debating starting the trip at Universal anyway, so looks like we will do that for the 1st 2 nights.

Any advice booking Universal? We are primarily going for Harry Potter stuff. My kids are 7 and 10 and HATE thrill rides, even mild rollercoasters are too much for them. I get motion sick very easily so I don't ride much. So I don't see that much for us to do there aside from the HP stuff. We won't even ride most of the HP rides.

Is it worth staying at the higher tier resorts to get early entrance and from line passes? I don't know if we'll really get use of the front line passes. Or should I save money (or URs) and stay at a mid or lower range Universal resort?

I know we need park to park passes to ride the Hogwarts Express.
