Yikes! I have a differing opinion which is pretty much the norm for me.

Right now, you have a great chance of getting to ride by being there at opening and following directions as outlined in the other thread.

Some inner sense tells me that if this goes to fastpass, and standby, it will be a crazy wait, with fastpass disappearing almost instantly. Plus as the ride becomes known, it will increase in popularity. Seems there is nothing quite like it anywhere except the Disney parks.

Right now, there are visitors who still don't know this ride exists, which gives an edge in getting a boarding group. The pressure to ride will be high for years to come - I don't see the popularity decreasing unless the ride proves unreliable, and Disney is not about to let that happen. This is much bigger (in my opinion) than Avatar, FOP, and the FOP is still 2-3 hours wait mid day.

What's sad to me but I guess good for Disney is now you need fast pass to do rides during the main operating hours - no more slow times.
I understand and agree with you. Its convincing my family that is the issue. They were up for it at first, but after reading some more articles recently they are less agreeable. Still there is a chance I will convince them one we are down there. We have 2 days that I was planning to try for a BG 3/16 & if we don't get one then go back on 3/17. So, we will see.

We are looking at these cruises as well and think we are going to book the 11 night Mediterranean Greek Isles as a graduation present for DD. We have never traveled internationally and I’m a bit overwhelmed thinking about how to book the airfare. We typically only fly Southwest, so this will be a whole new experience on many levels.
I would love, love, love to cruise around Greece
OT, all the articles being posted about how difficult it is to get a BG for ROTR now. My family is saying they don’t even want to try on our trip. They say they would rather wait until the next time we go and not be stressed by it all,
Bummer for me.

I agree with @Judique --once it goes to FP and standby, watch out! It will be like FoP or TSMM way back in the day (or Space Mountain for those of us who visited Disneyland in the early 80s  so many memories of running full out with my sister!)

I hope you can convince your family to go once you get closer. The last several days for Rise have been pretty darn good, with backup boarding groups lasting quite a while. It looks like anyone in the park before 8am can get a boarding group of some sort. And they've been calling more backup groups during each day.

I may have a problem with reading that boarding group thread every day :rotfl:

Here are some opening day prices. These will go up. https://disneycruiselineblog.com/20...r-2021-sailings-a-look-at-opening-day-prices/

The British Isles I was looking at is possible. I will not spend that much on Iceland.

DH really wants to try a Disney cruise but I just don’t see the point of paying the Disney premium for a port-intensive cruise. Maybe it will change when we have kids who would enjoy all the activities, but for two adults it kind of feels like a waste. It would be nice to do a short cruise out of Port Canaveral added onto a WDW trip, though.

I am excited to join the craziness on 3/13! We will RD SDD since I got our FP for MMRR so we will be early birds to the park.

If they have a Delta American Express card (even the Blue one) they can get a 20% statement credit for:
  • Food (Premium snacks like Flight Fuel, the sandwich wraps, etc.)
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Audio headsets
  • And possibly Pre-purchased meals
Takes 8-12 weeks to post and you'll receive SkyMiles for In-Flight Delta Purchases. Note, you won't get squat when using Partner Airlines.

I would have thought that with all the traveling that he did he would have had a Delta CC... they do not have one...

We have a Delta CC, and the statement credit did take more toward the 12 week mark... and the SkyMiles take just as long to post... you have to be on top of it... If seems that the In-Flight purchases perks take longer to post, then using your CC in the terminal and carrying on a sandwich or snacks...

We had some Skymiles just dangling out there, and did not post... so when I called about something else I asked the CCR and she was like oh not sure why they have not posted, I can see them... 48 hours later they posted... now could be a coincidence... or that she released them... who knows I was just glad that I got them added in...

Others said it worked in the past for them so I went for it. I took a screen capture of the fine print, I don't see in store only wording. I had it on three cards so used all three.

im not seeing any rtm cash back offers for staples. What are you seeing?

@wendow when are you seeing 35k for Sand Key? I'm still sort of thinking of a return trip after my Hilton Head trip and it would be mostly offsite unless I canceled an already booked DVC night. I have several (3) 35K certificates to spend plus my 50K one.

So...what do you do with nearly half a million Delta miles if your health no longer permits you to travel? This is for a family member, and while there are more immediate concerns, my sick and demented mind jumps straight to all those wasted miles.

We enjoyed our 7 night cruise out of port Canaveral but both agreed we won’t do another disney cruise for a long time. We’ll probably wait until our kids are old enough to enjoy the kids clubs.

Transfer them to friends & Family!

Hi there, I like you.

Can we be friends?!

In earnest, you do have some choices including buying gift cards with points and then selling them like at Raise. Here's MORE

We really only have one night we can make work unless I can move our dvc stay. Looking at may 21.

And the KTN is all we need right? Do you know if that was business days, or calendar days?
It was calendar days. Once I knew out KTNs I went online to southwest.com (that's who we were flying next) and added them to our profiles and also specifically to the reservation. We didn't have any issues and our boarding passes showed precheck. The girl at our interview recommended that we call or go online and add that info if we were flying in the next month because she said sometimes the airlines don't have that information updated. I don't know if that's true or not, but I put the info in myself just in case.

This sounds amazing. If you'd like a price quote I can get that since I'm platinum. You can buy airfare through DCL. I believe they do it as a package and you won't actually have to pay for the airfare until you pay for the cruise at 4 months out. I don't know if it's the cheapest option, but it may be the simplest.

Every once in awhile when I was bored I used to mess with the student loan calls. "We can help reduce your payment by $XX!" Oh really - wow...please tell me more. "blah blah blah". So you really can save me at least $250 a month?? "Yes - what are you paying now?" Well I pay $0, I don't have any but I'll gladly take the $250........ CLICK!

My dad once told carpet cleaners that called we had dirt floors 😂 We may have still had the rotary hone when this happenedb back when you always answered because you didn't know who it was.

DS19 and I will be trying for a BG for ROTR on 3/17 also if I can get him up early enough. We’ll be on site 3/16-18 for a short spring break trip which is his Christmas/birthday gift.

I met the MSR on my Amex gold on Sunday. My new biz card coming will leave me a small gap between MSR’s. Hopefully enough time to use our other Amex cards for a bit.

Getting a little concerned about our Europe trip this late spring. We have 3 nights planned in Venice in June. I booked as much refundable as I could. Hoping to not have to make any changes!
