Trying to work up the courage to go to a singles gathering at church (not to meet a guy--just to meet others who know what it's like to be a middle-aged single parent!). I have terrible social anxiety and am super stressed about it. I do have to go to Staples anyway so I might as well go.

Chase Staples offers - between Dh and me, 1 $30 off $100; 1 $20 off $100; 3 20% off up to $34 and 3 10% off up to $17. First trip of the week to Staples today - unfortunately, the manager rang me up and I could not get more than one VGC. Thursday my favorite cashier works, at least I hope she still does. It has been a while since fee free at Staples! She'll ring up each card separately and let me buy a bunch.

I keep getting pushed in those directions and I'm much older than you. I'm not too interested but at my age I don't really need another 'job'. I can take all the friends I can handle though.

I’ll look into the site you mentioned and tell Dh about it. I think it’ll be a good idea to have insurance on a trip like this. How much does it typically cost? I’m not even sure what to expect.

It’s just how outbreaks work. Usually spread quickly and the taper off. I said it won’t be around in the same manor. Meaning the number of new cases will be down significantly like SARS and MERS. The SARS outbreak lasted about 6 months.

But trip insurance is generally a good idea on international trip, not only for cancellations but for medical. I usually buy for international trips and cover enough for medical evacuation. I had a college professor who traveled to Puerto Rico, where his wife had a stroke. She wasn’t medically stable to fly by commercial airline for 3-4 months and they didn’t have med evac insurance, so they were stuck there.

Superstores and warehouse clubs that sell groceries and gas will not qualify for bonus rewards in the supermarket and gas station categories. If you do most of your grocery and gas spending with merchants like that, this isn’t the card for you.

Which stores does this mean, Walmart, Meijer, Kroger Marketplace? Thanks!

I got the $30/$100 on 3 of my cards. Haven’t checked DH’s cards yet. Will have to buy online also as they closed our Staples store also. I will be putting gift cards in the kids Easter Baskets so this will help.

Once I've transferred my Disney GC balances to my "main" card, and I've verified that the balances transferred over, is there any reason to keep the physical cards that have a zero balance?

I don’t know but I always keep them. Just in a box. Not sure why.
I did find a refund to my card from a cruise but that’s not the same as if you’ve transferred a balance to another card.

Does anyone know if I can use visa gift cards to pay off my Royal Caribbean cruise?
I ended up booking through Costco and it has a payment link to use Visa/MasterCard so I’m hoping I can use the staples offer for the no fee visas. At least I’ll get some extra points/ % off since I’m not seeing any other way to save on this cruise.

If it doesn’t work on the website, call in. Costco took multiple Disney GCs for our DCL Cruise.

No, no, P2s rarely control things. My DH has no idea when “he” gets a new card most of the time. I plan, apply, and usually meet the MSR. He is ok with that. I just give him a card and say use this for ‘fill in appropriate spending’. Right now he has one card for gas and grocery and another for everything else.

No to Walmart, and probably Meijer. No idea on Kroger Marketplace. Do they sell groceries plus clothes and toys and everything else?

Kroger Marketplace, Yes they do and gas. However there are other locations that don't under the name Kroger.

My DH is the same. I warn him a new card is coming so when he gets a notification of an inquiry or new account on his credit report he knows it is ok. Just today, since he was going to the grocery store I gave him his BBP card to use. I am his "employee", I like to think CFO , so all charges so far have been on my employee card. Beyond that, he has a card for gas and a CIU for everything else since he will not remember more than that!

We are supposedly headed to Italy this summer, but with the news yesterday when will have to wait and see. We purchased the trip insurance through Delta Vacations when we purchased the flights back in September. I spent some time looking and think we definitely want to buy medical and evacuation insurance. I am booking hotels with a cancellation policy of a few days so I think we are good there. Is there anything else we need to look at for the insurance?

Kroger Marketplace, Yes they do and gas. However there are other locations that don't under the name Kroger.

Yeah regular Kroger stores are generally ok, not the bigger ‘superstore’ types. You can always try a test purchase to see how it codes.
