I was looking for information on Shipt or Wal-Mart Plus to BLT. Has anyone used either of these services recently at BLT?

is the lounge upstairs still available? Haven't been since before covid. anything different I should know?
Yes, it’s been renamed Villian’s Lair. It has two offerings “Wicked Wind-down” and a Fireworks dessert party most evenings. You’d have to book those through member services. Otherwise you can go up to TOTWL and put your name on a list to get in for the bar. They offer a few food items (the 70 billion layer cake is delicious) and minor Villians theming. I believe if you are staying at BLT you’re allowed on the outside patio up there for fireworks, but some area will be blocked off for the two paid events on the nights they are offered.

No unfortunately they replaced that with the twin under the TV. I thought there was still an extra chair just not one that converted to a bed.
I think they were talking about how the kitchen table used to be able to sit a lot more folks but now is really only suitable for 4 and the counter seating is terrible.

The viewing balcony is open to all, you don't even have to be a DVC member to go up there anymore. It's only the lounge (and paid events like you mentioned) that are restricted to only DVC-Y members staying on property.

FYI I took my family to the viewing balcony two nights ago and had to show my DVC-Y card prior to entry to the terrace area. He asked if we were “just there to see the show,” I said yes, and then he asked to see my card. My full report is in the thread linked above.

Interesting, this may be a recent change then. I was there over Labor Day and it was still open to all.

I thought I saw someone reference it in this thread, but if not here’s a link:

And my post from that thread:
Here I am, reporting back.

We went up to TOTWL at 9:40PM for 10PM Minnie’s Christmas Fireworks on Tuesday night of Thanksgiving week. I’m a direct member and I had 9 people on my reservation (including myself).

The host was stationed at the entrance to the lounge and terrace. He asked if we were just coming up for the show. I said yes, he asked to see my digital card, I showed him, and he said, “Perfect. You’re good to go. You can watch from anywhere on the terrace other than this roped off area to the right,” (which was roped off for a private viewing.

At 9:40 there was plenty of space at the wall. By 9:50 the front row was full. Incidentally there were also plenty of seats available inside the lounge, but we weren’t interested and didn’t ask.

It was lovely to watch with the music piped in. I was slightly annoyed by the very loud chatter from some of the other guests (adults, not children) who were there but didn’t seem all that interested in the show. But overall it was a great time and a smooth experience entering the terrace.

Perfect! Just the feedback I was looking for and then some. I hadn't thought of two firework nights one in the park on the 30th and then the other from BLT on the 31st. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing.

Replying to your older post here and apologies if you know this, but just wanted to chime in with some more detail in case helpful.

Of the four shows on 12/30 and 12/31, the 7:30pm shows each night (which is a different time this year, prior years have been 6:30pm) utilize the traditional 'behind the Magic Kingdom' fireworks launch points (one main and two side ones, same as what you see for Halloween or Christmas party fireworks). The 11:50pm shows each night are the full "360 degree" show which adds three more launch points in/around the Seven Seas Lagoon area. So the late show each night will be the more visually impressive "wow" display from points such as CR/BLT and other monorail resorts. The early show is great too from CR/BLT, just more traditional viewing.

Hope that helps!

I agree the seating around the table is not the best but the PP that I was replying to asked specifically about the chair that pulled out to a single sleeper.

Ahh, I think the fold down twin bed is pretty good in comparison to the sleeper chair as a sleeping surface! I got sick during our trip and took several naps and never felt uncomfortable as 5 and a half foot tall adult woman.
