I just provide them my full name (name reservation is under) and the dates of our reservation. I used to also list things like room category and ask them to confirm but I now don't provide that and instead ask them to list what category/view/bed they show. Prevents them for just glancing and saying oh yeah that's the room type we have you in.
So do you get the confimation number from the hotel, room type, etc? Can you use that confirmation to check online? I booked RPR at UO thru the Chase UR portal.

As far as I know, there’s no test for Parkinson’s- like a ct scan or blood test or whatever. It’s based on symptoms.

And Lewy body dementia can only be officially diagnosed via autopsy.

I think Lewy body dementia is the related to Parkinson’s as it’s caused by the same protein build up in cells. And can cause similar symptoms. So you can’t really tell which one it is until you can examine the brain on an autopsy.

They didn't do an autopsy which now makes me wonder more which it is or if since they are both caused by the same protein it doesn't matter.

Is either something I need to be concerned with or is it something not hereditary?

Also not sad, I never had that good of a relationship with that side and like I said it's their loss not mine 😁

I called the hotel and tried emailing a few times. First rep I talked to told me they could confirm room but couldn't give me universal confirmation number since I didn't book direct. Next rep I talked to was super helpful and even mentioned that she saw multiple reservations under my last name (traveling with SIL). She did give me a confirmation number but I don't think I ever got it to actually pull up in the universal system (I didn't try too hard).

For RPR you need to go to the desk anyway to get room keys which act as express pass so we never bothered trying to check in online.

I don’t think either are considered to be hereditary in any amounts to be concerned about.

On the tragical express. Always sad to see a trip come to an end; especially one that I planned for over a year. I’ll share a lot more in the coming days but the fantastic news is that my 3 nights at CR which was booked using a certain heavily scrutinized airline mile went down without a hitch.

Michaeljfox.org has lots of info on Parkinson disease. My dad had it and also died about 5 years ago. It was actually a blessing when he fell and broke his hip and died several days later. He was still at home living with my mother and sister so at least he wasn’t in a nursing home which he would have hated. It’s a sad disease 😢

My third oldest card is an AT&T Universal Visa card, now issued by Citibank. It will have been open for 30 years come April, dating to 1990. Apart from helping my credit score by providing a long credit history, the card does nothing for me. I put enough occasional spend on it t keep it active but get nothing else from it.
Citibank has made an offer to convert it to a Citi Rewards+ MasterCard. I've checked and this card will not be very useful for me, but its value is an improvement, however slight, over the Universal Card, which offers no benefits or rewards I use.
My only concern then, is that my account age remain the same. I'm pretty sure it will. I know when I had a Citi Hilton Visa card and Hilton switched all its business to AmEx my Citi Hilton card was automatically converted to an Amex card and its credit history remained intact. So I believe converting this card within City, but switching Visa to MC, should be fine. But because the added benefits are so small, I don't want to take any risk. Does anybody know how I might be able to determine with certainty that the converted card will inherit the history of the existing card?

We were trying to plan Aquarium and Zoo same day so looking for a lunch spot. Maybe we will just eat in FQ before heading to Zoo. Is there still a riverboat that does Zoo to FQ?y
DS might like the museum but one war related activity per vacation is more than enough for me.

I'm pretty sure the ferry isn't available anymore, but I could be totally wrong because we hadn't used it or tried to use it in years since we always drive being only an hour away. Maybe someone else knows more about that. You can take the streetcar to St. Charles and theres a zoo shuttle.

Welcome back! Its been VERRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYY SSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW around here without you.

Hello, all! I’m a long time lurker that has learned a lot from all of you amazing people! I have a problem that I have not been able to figure out on my own, so I’m hoping for some help. I have UR points on a CIC that I’m trying to transfer to P2’s CSR. I believe I was able to do it in the past, but when I tried after my points posted this month, it says “unable to transfer points to this card at this time.” I don’t really want to contact Chase because I don’t want any eyes on my account due to an advanced strategy that is often discussed here. I am unable to unlink the other two business cards that are on my account. I have tried transferring to both of my other cards and then trying to transfer from there and that doesn’t work, either. When I checked his account, I noticed that there was a way to “unlink” his already linked business card, but mine does not give me an option to unlink. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks in advance...
I would unlink all cards that you can from both accounts and give it 24 hours. Then link them back.

You need to link your CIC to another card that is linked to his already. Like if he has CIP linked, link CIC >CIP>CSR.
For DH and me, I have CIP>his CFU>his CSR. His CSR is linked to his CFU and CIC already. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right “chain”.

Is there a different card you can choose? Will they let you have a Thank You Rewards Card? (There are a few). I would get in writing that your new account with reflect your length of relationship with them, otherwise I think there is no guarantee especially with Citi.

Ages ago we did streetcar there, ferry back to FQ. Was just thinking it’s a bit easier since you are closer to the water than going back to St Charles to get the streetcar.

Has anyone used the Chase portal today? Trying to book a rental car and I get all the way through and I get Sorry can not complete at this time.
I had a nightmare with Chase car rental the other night. Saw the price went down, cancelled amd tried to rebook (didn't have points to book and then cancel existing). Then the website was charging UR *and* cash rather than *or* cash, aka double billing. Called and the rep said price was $800, not $400 as online. We debated, she told me I was looking at outdated info. I refreshed and price went DOWN another $85 and she kept insisting $800. Then I asked if I could reinstate the reservation I just cancelled. After reviewing EVERY car reservation I've ever made with UR (seriously, she started with the 1st), then she said "oh, we can't reinstate reservations anymore". So why the heck did you just waste $5 minutes reviewing???? Ugh! After waiting on hold a while we got a manager who booked for the $400 shown online, but it was a FRUSTRATING call.

So, yeah, also having trouble booking online.

Good to hear! You must have been happy! Or were you prepared with a backup plan?

I'm trying to figure out why you would bother converting it?

Thank you! I will go ahead and unlink everything that I can and try again tomorrow!

Lots of travel planning today. Finally finished up tonight.
Almost lost it this morning when I called to use my Citi TY points to get Disneyland tickets. Over 20 minutes and the agent couldn’t find anything. She was super nice and apologetic she couldn’t find it, said she’d seen tickets before. She tried calling the Cruise & Tours dept but couldn’t get through. After that, I vaguely remembered seeing someone mention Cruise Department, so called back and finally got connected to them. The Cruise & Tours rep immediately said sure and asked exactly which tickets I needed. Long story short, got 2 Disneyland 5 day Hoppers with Max Pass for $470 or 37,600 TYP each (used 75,200 TYP total) Rep also confirmed they still sell WDW tix as well so I’ll be saving the rest of my TYP for those.
Tonight I used URs thru the portal to book a jazz brunch and get a 4 activity Flex Pass for our spring break trip to NOLA.

Does Hilton waive the resort fees and or parking fees when using points. We are island jumping next month. We decided last night to spend some time on the big island and then jump to Honolulu. Looking at Hilton Waikiki or Hilton village Waikiki. Basically anything that I can use points on and our diamond status.
Resort, yes. Parking, no.

I've tried to catch up on Dischurners but won't be able to catch up on here, so please let me know if I've missed something terribly important!

Baby Girl is almost 3 weeks old already and doing great. She didn't have a name for about 10 days. We finally decided and named her Rosemary. 😊

I realized somewhere around 3 am in a sleep deprived stupor that I hadn't booked my rooms for DC in April yet! Since we are in need of two rooms and going at an expensive time we are a LOT short. So, is it ever a good idea to buy points? Hilton has the double offer right now and I'm thinking that would be cheaper than paying the difference. Thoughts?

Rosemary is a beautiful name!! :flower1:

We bought a few points to cover our week in DC last Jan, but I've never really found it cost effective to buy them. What are your dates? I'm bored and would be happy to help plan someone else's trip, especially since I've already accounted for every hour of leave DH earns for the foreseeable future. :rolleyes1
