Too funny! My DD turned 17 on our arrival day in Edinburgh for our university touring trip to Scotland and England. And we stayed at the Radisson Blu! We had talked about climbing Arthur's Seat for her birthday but ended up being a bit too tired since it was our arrival day and we'd flown overnight. We did some wandering around the city and then DD wanted to go to the Scottish Museum. She also wanted Indian food for dinner. If you have more energy and since you haven't been to Edinburgh before, you could do Edinburgh Castle or Holyrood House. I haven't done it, but I know others like the Mary King's Close tour. Scroll back a few pages and you will see a number of recent suggestions for things to do and places to eat in Edinburgh. If you're looking for a nice birthday dinner, you might look into Prestonfield House. I was there decades ago to celebrate on of my father's birthdays, but I believe it is still there and highly regarded.

I’ve been reading all the Edinburgh/London posts of the last couple days. It’s definitely getting me more excited for our trip! Yes, I was thinking more along the lines of a nice birthday dinner, so I will look into Prestonfield House. Thanks! I guess when I think of celebrating I think FOOD. Haha. Hoping to do the other things too of course!

I’m still in a deep depression about not being at WDW so I have been trying to avoid the boards as it makes me anxious to plan another trip.

Quick question before I start my commute - can P2 refer me to a CIU from a CIP a la Amex? Or only another CIP ? Trying to figure out next moves...

You and I are movie twins! First Sixteen Candles, now Fast and Furious. Up till now I thought I was the only grown woman that LOVES Fast and Furious. I about died when I read this. DH teases me all the time my love for those movies. Haha!
@IFlossU did you see the new trailer today?!?!?!?! OMG!

Oh, and while we are talking work weeks...our entire company wide computer network has had issues all week. Each day we have had anywhere from 2-6 systemwide restarts, where we can't work. And leading up to each of those was all our computers basically not working. Each restart supposed to fix the problem. One time they even asked anyone but the closers not to work at all. We do 100% of our job online, literally not a single thing can we do without it. It's been a nightmare. We have been falling behind all week. This afternoon after restart number two today, it finally seemed to pick back up, and I was able to get a couple of files done, but it was just a horrible week for the whole company.

I’m going to pull the trigger and app DH for his first AMEX card. Although we do have some history with the former AMEX Costco card. My plan is to do 1 Hilton card now and another for him in the Fall, roughly 7 months between apps. Soooo...I know there was discussion yesterday, but what do you all think? I definitely want the Aspire so I’m thinking I should do that one first and then the Biz in the Fall. He will be able to keep consistent spend on the Aspire over the next year, but man that pop up is so unpredictable. Is there any reason I should try for the Biz first that I’m not thinking of? He’s 2/24
Your thoughts and wisdom would be appreciated :thumbsup2
I would Aspire first since that's the most important to you :)

California trip planning question-
We are planning DL for 2021. I think it will be early May. I’m leaning-
First 3 nights/4 days DL
Next 4 nights SD for Legoland, zoo, grandma (hopefully- shes 95), and beach/explore day. Is there anything else worth doing near DL/SD with two toddlers? 7 nights feels almost short for flying so far! Just trying to figure our if its worth extending to add anything.
The San Diego Safari park is pretty cool! It's about an hour drive depending on traffic think from the Zoo (it's outside of Escondido) but I think it's a different experience and they are both worth doing https://www.sdzsafaripark.org/

No. CIP can only refer to CIP. I recall something about CIC referring to CIU if you have one of those...

ETA: yes! oddly enough that is a thing. I couldn't generate a link to refer to CIU from CIU but I can from a CIC... what the heck Chase?

No ...unfortunately not ..only CIU or CIC supports CIU

Keeping Amex happy is just so difficult. I only have a gold and BBP. The gold gets a lot of organic spend (groceries), but I never use the BBP if I have an MSR elsewhere, so last month my BBP bill was $10. I have future plans for amex and I'm afraid spends like that will put me in pop up hell. How much do I have to spend on a card to make them happy? Anyone know?
I do not MS and so do not spend a ton. But I always try to have a closing statement of an amount of all of our cards (between DH and myself that is like 15 cards). It might be under $100 but it is something every month. It has worked so far for both of us. And also make sure you just keep spending after meeting MSR. Never let a card sit. I have an Amex wallet and I just rotate what card to use. I have even been known to split charges at places like Target...one amount on my card one on DH's.

Is there a trick I am missing to get the AMEX Everyday card 25k to show in incognito mode? Can't seem to pull it....just keep trying? I looked at support links on dischurners and they all seemed to be for 15k.

I saw it last night on incognito chrome with DH's 25k Gold Biz referral. Just keep trying I guess. It really is so random I think.

Speaking of Amex...I did a thing last night. With a vague idea of using our Biz Gold support before they end at 25k on 2/5 I started playing with the links and incognito. I have tried for the last 6 months to get a link for the personal Plat of more than 70. The last 3 months all I have been able to pull is the standard 60k. Last night on DH's support link of 25k I pulled the 75k. And I went for it. And approved! So yippee!

As a data point I closed out completely my Biz Plat at the end of December (12/31). Not huge spend as I detailed above but constant spend on all my Amex cards.

Knotts Berry Farm- we planned our trip around this Cedar Fair Park- a whole Snoopy themed kiddie land area and many rides for the whole family
Medieval Times,
Universal Studios Hollywood (not many rides for little ones- but Harry Potter and the studio tour are pretty neat attractions)

So today DD texted me that she brought her boyfriend to my house after school while I was at work. Um, nope. Told her he couldn't be there but she could go to her dad's with him since he works from home and lives 1 minute away. Then she said she was just taking him home. But her dad tracked her phone and she stayed at my house. So he called and she said she was cleaning her room. Good grief. I then told my ex that the google home hub with the camera really wasn't as bad of an idea as he thinks:) I seriously think I'm getting something and not telling her I can see who she is bringing in the house.

Then DS got his birthday present from his paternal grandma (dad and grandma aren't talking as usual). She gave him fifty $1 bills. I told my ex and he asked if she thought he was going to the strip club.

TGIF!!! Glad I survived the week at work:)

Sudden large expense for next month came up - I am 5/24, DH is 4/24 but just got a CIP Jan 9. Please refresh my memory about spacing between the CIP and a personal Chase card - is it 90 days? If he can't do another Chase card, I guess either of us could go for a card from another provider. I've got cards falling off in April., May, and June so not too worried about that aspect.

Recommend spacing is 90 days between any Chase card...... but if your okay with him going to 5/24 he could try for a personal card
