I've cancelled dd17's March trip and I cancelled dh & I's April trip. Still hanging on to the May trip but definitely not hopeful at all. After that, our summer gets crazy busy. Now all those things could get cancelled but if all those things are cancelled, then wdw is probably still closed too. Not sure when we'd be able to take another trip there. We had such high hopes for our first AP's lol!

Unknown. According to the FT thread UA is a flaming you know what show right now. If you’ve got a UA award flight up to 4/30 and want to cancel for a mileage re-deposit I would look to get on the phone with them. From what I saw on Twitter yesterday that team was not waiving re-deposit fees

United did waive my re-deposit fee when I cancelled our award flights home from Scotland. That was on Friday. I cancelled via phone after a 1 hour 40 minute hold time. The rep was super nice and accommodating.

We came back from LHR on Thursday, which was the first day of the European Travel ban. We had an afternoon flight but the agent said it had been a madhouse in the morning. DD is flying out tomorrow and we are all very anxious--we rescheduled her flight after her school announced they were sending everyone home BEFORE the UK travel ban was announced. She flies from NCL to LHR and then on to SFO. If she arrives in time she will *not* have the new health lines, etc. which go into effect at 9 pm our time (she's due to arrive at 7:15pm). I'm worried about cancelled flights, etc. But I'm hoping BA doesn't redo their schedule until later this week. Needless to say I will be having a sleepless night until I get her texts. When we checked her in, it looks like they moved her to business class on the flight from LHR to SFO, but we'll see. Cross your fingers for her everyone. The images of those crowds is making me crazy. That's the worst thing for this.

DD flew into SFO last night and we weren't sure what to expect in terms of screening and timing. The FAs told them that Global Entry wasn't working and they would all have to fill out the customs form so she did. Global was working and she breezed through customs.

In terms of screening, once the plane arrived at the gate, someone came on and handed forms to the FAs. Every person needed to fill out this long form regarding health issues, where they have been, etc. Then once completed, they could get off the plane. DD was one of the first off and she said they "interviewed" her about 3 feet from the plane (so just as she stepped onto the jetway), handed her info, and sent her on her way. She did not have the lines that we are seeing in photos from other airports around the country.

I'm just letting you know all of this so you can prepare your DD for whatever they do. They wrote on DD's form in BIG letters where she had been. Since Norway is on the travel ban list and the UK isn't, it might be easier for your DD (but if she is arriving after the UK is added, it's still going to be ok). The info they gave her said to stay home for 14 days and keep checking for symptoms, etc. So it's bad since she's now cooped up (she would love to go for a walk, a hike, or a run) but it's what she needs to do.

Because of the short delay compared to normal, her bags were already off the plane and she just walked in and picked them up. I hope things go smoothly for your DD as well, and I hope they give her the upgrade. I joked that if you have to be evacuated from a place you really want to be, at least do it in style.

So I spoke to my mom today who was watching a tennis match but assured me she was keeping her distance from others. She mentioned the UK quarantining seniors. I didn't know what she was talking about. Now I see they have a strict quarantine for those over 70 for 4 months. I get it. My mom has what my sister calls the opposite of agoraphobia. Hoping we don't get to that point. Can't imagine how lonely many seniors would be.

Just realized that would include Trump, Biden, and Sanders

So, finally made a plan to get my dd home. I'm flying down on Tuesday morning and getting her packed up with the help of my wonderful aunt and uncle who were down there visiting her when the news broke that the DCP was ending for now. They extended their trip to help her.

I rented a van and will plan to leave Wednesday morning driving back to CO. It's a 26-hr drive. It'll just be me and dd. I need to figure out what the route looks like and where we can stay. I'm a little worried cause she is not able to drive the rental car and I'm not really a long distance driver (my dh always drives on road trips and I just provide the chatter to keep him awake lol).

I ran across something regarding this. I believe it was Enterprise Rental, but it basically said that they were waiving the 25 year old age limit this week since so many college kids need to get home. If you check with the rental car companies, you may find one that will allow your DD to help you drive.

My first AP expires 2 days later. Amazing that I bought it specifically for this May trip I have to reschedule. Now squeezing in that silly Vets Day weekend trip doesn’t seem so dumb in hindsight. Who’d have thought that would be the last time I’d go until 2021 potentially?

Between this and the gift card theft I’m starting to think May was just doomed. I feel like I’ll never be able to enjoy Flower & Garden.
