Totally agree. It happened to a friend of mine, and it was a mess. Not only did she need to run out and get a new phone, but she also had to recreate all her contacts and start looking for a new job. She carries two phones now. Sometimes you just can't see it coming (in her case, 70% of the company was let go that day, with no notice because they ran out of funding).
My number isn't that valuable to the company (I'm not in sales) but after what I dealt with yesterday (it really was unreal) I would anticipate they will not do anything to make my life easy. So even if they don't want it they may not release it. I think I'll get a small straight talk plan for my old iphone 6 for now. And then I'll give all of my current contacts my new number.

I'm also a member of the LLC not an employee so I'm trying to understand the implications of that. Looks like I need to re-read the operating agreement. Yippee.

I fought having two phones for a long time (didn’t want to worry about 2, didn’t want more than one contact number, didn’t want to pay for a phone plan if didn’t have too). Finally getting a personal number and phone a couple of years ago was the best thing I could have done. Even thought I am still at the same office not being tied to a work phone and by extension work is huge. I did the same thing with an iPad and emails last year. When you are not at work not having anything to remind you of it is big. It is a small step but strangely liberating.

I was checking to see if my CIP referral bonus was going to post and saw something disturbing.
My SUB was 80k and the below it says -80k for other rewards activity (see pic).
When I go back to all recent activity, it doesn't go back far enough to last August when I was credited the SUB.
Did they take it from me?

I'm no @SouthFayetteFan but I do keep a detailed spreadsheet of all of our Chase UR activity. I pulled up DH's CIP which paid out a bonus in November. Our graph looks the same and I agree it's super confusing with the 80K earned and then removed. I can confirm that my points balance on that card is fine and I have the full 80k plus whatever I earned on the $5k spend. Looking through the detailed activity I can see the 80k earned on the purchase in November that put us at the $5k spend and there is no negative amount (except where I transferred the full balance over to my CSR to get 1.5x).

I noticed this on my account too and thought the same thing, but I checked my spreadsheet and the total URs number was correct. It was one of those moments when I was really thankful for my spreadsheet tracking.

Has anyone with discoverist or higher status stayed at a hyatt house? I'm curious if we'll still get daily water bottles or if the type of property HH is means it doesn't have it.

I was the same way. I had a work Blackberry for a long time as my only phone. Once we started iPads, it was time to move to my own personal device. Especially, since they have the work phones locked down very tight. Like no Gmail, no Google Maps. Basically a calculator and work email access. I can’t even get my AirPods to connect. So now I get to carry two iPhones since work finally moved on from the Blackberry. Best decision!

Sad conversation with dd this morning. Now that we know where she'll attend university (and when her winter break will be) I asked her where she wants to go next year. She replied "I don't know, maybe just come home". I really feel like I've failed here :sad:.
I would take it as a major compliment. She wants to spend her free time at the place she likes the most, her HOME.

My DD is now almost 26 and lives over three hours away and I miss her terribly. I think fondly of the vacations we took, but I LONG for the day to day life we had together, just chilling, eating meals, etc. If that's what she wants to do, I'd say you "done good Ma!"

I just did a night at the HH Miami and was given a little paper bag with a bottle of water and bag of doritos as a welcome gift (Explorist). As with all hotels I'm sure it's YMMV.

I have two questions about the Chase United Explorer Mileage Plus offer I hope you all can help me with. First. If P2 is an authorized user on someone's card, does that count as "having the card"?

And second, If I received a bonus for that card on 4/4/18 (card approved 3/18 and canceled when AF was due) can I apply for this new offer before it expires on 4/2/2020? Or would I have to wait until after 4/4/2020 before I apply again?

I'm new to churning and don't want to make a rookie mistake that may disqualify me. Thank you to everyone contributing to this thread (and DISchurners). I'm learning so much!

Phewww...I didn't go back and count up all the points yet b/c the points on that card were moved from other cards and it seemed somewhat daunting. That's good news. I'll probably still go back and count them up b/c I'm spooked.
Thank you!
I'm not sure what this means if anything, but my totals are right.

So I had an incredibly rough day at work yesterday. I won't bore you with the details but it was surreal. Unfortunately it's making me concerned about upcoming travel plans (mainly Alaska cruise) but I'll worry about that later. My current issue is needing a cell phone number not connected to my work mobile voicemail. I ported my personal number when my company provided me with a phone and started paying for my service. I'd be grateful for any suggestions. I did use straight talk before and still have a very old iphone 6. I'm definitely not wanting to spend much on anything because of uncertainty.

I'm really sorry you're experiencing this. Your post brought back memories of a really bad job situation DH was in--his boss started firing people for things she said were infractions (but really were not). He didn't want to quit right away for several reasons, but he also really didn't want to be fired. It was a long, stressful few months before he could work out a way to leave.

@Lain I think AmEx is messing with me. I just pulled up 70K MRs on my iPad (last night it was 60K) for the personal plat. Since it's a charge card (sorry I didn't realize these don't count on the 5/24 rule) I'm going for it!

Not Lain, but AmEX personal cards do count (whether change or credit). It's business cards that don't count (because they are not reported to the credit reporting agencies so Chase can't see them). AmEx generally doesn't report business cards but some others (like Cap One) do.

Being an AU does not preclude you from getting the card yourself. But it does add to your 5/24 count so we do advise people not to be added as AUs.

You can earn a signup bonus on the same card more than once as long as you no longer have the card and it’s been 24 months since your last bonus posted to your account. So I think you would be denied. There would be a chance that maybe you could call and recon it after a few days and it has been 2 years. Not exactly sure though.

Amex personal platinum does count against your 5/24!!

eta: I think you are confusing that Amex charge cards do not count in the 5 credit card Amex limit...

Personal charge cards DO COUNT against Chase’s 5/24 rule. Charge cards do not count against Amex’s 2/90 timing rule or 5 Amex credit card limit.

Thanks! I have to wait to see what the bonus offer is after April 4, 2020. I'll let my family know about the AU. In that situation, could P1 still refer to P2 even though P2 is an AU on P1's card?
