If you aren't sure what to do with a CSR or CSP and paying the annual fee, the easy answer is to just PC them to a CF or CFU. Even if you already have a CF or CFU, it's fine to have more than one. A few things to remember:

1) You can always CANCEL the card later... but if you cancel today, you can't reopen later
2) You can always PC the card back to a CSR or CSP if you need to (i.e. if you wish to transfer URs to Hyatt, need the travel portal, or want to use PYB benefit, etc.). In my experience, Chase will gladly let you pay them an annual fee, haha!
3) To complete a PC back to a CSP or CSR you will need to have enough CL on the card so when reducing/manipulating your CLs don't let yourself get too low

One additional tip, if you have a CSP, before you PC it to CF/CFU, make sure to save your support link as it will continue to work after the fact (typically for many months).

I know we don't talk about it often, is the Disney visa subject to 5/24? I can't remember. It's the last chase card I want to get.

About PCing up to an AF card...when I PCed down I vaguely remember was told I couldn't PC to another card for a full year. Is this not true?

Does anyone keep a CIP open after the year, for any of the bonus categories?

How about the CSP?

depends on your card line and how you use your cards... CIP is the only chase card(that i know of) with phone insurance. I know a lot of ppl find the $95 AF worth keeping this around.

CSP, its great for insurance(i know, no travel). it also great to have if you dont have a card to transfer your UR points to though. U should at least keep a card with that ability.

I don't recall any such restrictions. I've personally moved a card from a CSP to a CF to a CFU in a 3-4 month span once due to my indecisiveness. I also once PCed a CF to a CSP then up to a CSR a few months after that too. Now their procedures around this could've changed, but those are my experiences.

Hmmm...maybe I see a CSR in my near future.

It used to be one of the cards that "slid through" but now every Chase card has the 5/24 restriction unfortunately.

Ok. I'll have to see what I'm at, may need to app for it before the gold hits. Still kicking myself for shredding the offer I was mailed a few weeks ago because it was a good one and I think better than what I can get throught a link but we'll see.

ETA once the gold posts I'll be 5/24 and back yo 4/24 in Nov. I'd wait until dec but I think I'll have to wait longer than that because of how they've been with inquiries and new cards. I'm now at 4/6, who ever thought I'd get to that? The next 2 cards on my radar are biz so maybe next spring. It's not a huge deal to get it but I would like the no af one.

BofA points redemption question...does anyone know if there is anyway to redeem for electronic gift cards or do I have to wait for physical delivery?

About a month ago we tried to PC two of DHs cards...one a CIP to a CIC about a month before it was opened a year, the other was a CF that was PC’d from a CFU in January...both were a no go...the CSR said tried to do both but the system wouldn’t allow it....
Haven’t called again since it’s not super important so don’t know if we’d get the same answer

Did you want the Disney card for the perks? If you have a Chase checking account, you can request a Disney debit card with the same perks.

When I log into my DVC account there is a link for $250 statement credit on the Premier with the $49 annual fee. For $500 spend. I've seen both cards at $200 - the highest other than this.

I know but I use a credit union not chase and a 2nd checking acct just for it isn't something I'd want to manage.

Not dvc, but that does sound like the offer. I didn't pay attention to the fee just the offer. And if I can get 200 on the no fee then it's the same, after you pay the fee it's a whole extra dollar 😁 but I haven't looked into it a ton as it's all a timing/velocity issue at this point. Almost a year since I've had a chase card...

Woah, I had no idea that Chase offered a Disney debit card... Looks like I have another reason to leave US bank. Any good Chase checking account sign up bonuses going on right now?
