How do we get the AP bands? I've not gotten anything like that and Disney never told us to go order any.
Lol we have a decent amount of URs. I just got my CIP and Dh will get the CIC next so it’s hard for me to switch gears to MRs right now haha
Well we did get the pop up trying for a Hilton biz so that put a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe after the CIC we’ll try for somethingI'm collecting both. I don't discriminate.![]()
My mom took a Viking cruise to Norway and Iceland in August and they loved it! Especially Norway, she said it was beautiful!Only Summer. I think the one Bernina took is either out of Dover or Copenhagen. The one we took went to Iceland as well, and that one started in Copenhagen and ended in Dover. Used MRs for those flights.
ETA - Disney only goes there in summer. Viking offers cruises in winter, too, but it can be rough (not sure if you saw all the footage from the one caught out at sea for 2 days). Summer is cold enough for me; I can't imagine what winter feels like.
We’ve taken most of our cruises with last minute discounted rates. Planning years out doesn’t work for us.
Thank you, I just booked the 4 nighter in April cuz of this discussion and this post in particular! Lol! So if the "after" is only 1 night, would you go back to WDW for essentially an abbreviated day?
Currently we will have 3 nights at DRR (Riviera resort) prior. Figure we will keep to Epcot (2 days) and Hollywood Studios (1 day).
Sandwich 4-d DCL Bahamas.
AKL Jambo after... 1/2 day at AK.
Depart 1230 MCO next day.
One question, realistically, when can I expect to get back to WDW when disembark is 0730 for the cruise in Canaveral? It's been three years since we've been on a DCL...or any cruise for that matter.
UR's are definitely my fav point currency. I've found so little travel reasons to collect MR's but with Chase's restrictions on cards, I did branch out into MR's as a way to 'pass the time' between Chase apps. I've accumulated a nice little stash and plan to keep adding when I can and eventually cash out through Schwab (unless Amex gets a clue that I am in Home Depot every other day and gives me a sale on HD cards).Lol we have a decent amount of URs. I would love a Norwegian Cruise. It sounds really pretty. I won’t rule out Royal Caribbean now that so many of you have said the longer ones aren’t as bad. I’ve just heard some horrible things but I’m guessing they were short cruises and most likely during spring break or something.
Oh god yeah that’s what I was talking about lol. I guess if we sail with them it’ll need to be a long cruiseMy girls only trip weekend on a rccl had blow up dolls that were carried around by bachelor parties...is that what you are avoiding? The doll even went swimming.
It was a 3 day sailing though, out of PC, so not the same a one of the nice new ships that does a longer sailing. 2 different animals there. I'd like to try another RCCL on a newer ship someday with my family, even after the blow up doll incident.![]()
How does this work with wearing the puck on your apple watch? I have seen this referenced a few times but I don't get how that works.I have my DVC sliders and several AP sliders. I don't wear my band,I wear the puck in a holder on my apple watch. The slider keeps the puck on.
The bags are packed and we are off tomorrow morning for our short visit for the last Illuminations![]()
Yes I went to customer service and they happily reversed the payment and adjusted and double checked every single item. My bill was $21 lower. Big difference. Go to Etsy and look up magic band puck holder and you can see them. Best things ever. How does this work with wearing the puck on your apple watch? Also, did you get your Target order fixed? I've not been in all week to use the extra 5% and probably won't be able to tomorrow either. But was just curious if you got yours corrected.
I definitely feel that struggle! I always try to do WDW for at least a week in the spring and this would be attached to it so I don't want to take too much away from that, but a cruise is a cruise! I can't forget that is an adventure in itself!
Yes, those dates may actually work better is I "sandwich" between two WDW resorts. I admit I am a little scared of motion sickness. I've never had it before, but I don't do well with some simulators at WDW and Universal so the thought is in the back of my mind. I will take/wear/do whatever I can to avoid it! I just don't want it to ruin the cruise or the WDW portions of the trip.
Hmmm so the 3 worked well as a test, and the 4 was a nice break. I will play and see what fits. The week I normally go will also have Easter around it so that is something to factor. I can either deal with it, or push the trip up or back. It would make WDW less crowded if it wasn't that week LOL

I've never done a 3 night...way too short. Four night is about right if you're combining it with a WDW trip. I'm very prone to motion sickness. I've been on 23 cruises from 4 days to 13 days in all kind of seas including 25-foot swell. I take Dramamine. In normal or light swells I don't need to take anything. I do take Dramine when visiting Universal. I'm ok for the first 3 or 4 coaster/simulator rides and then I start to get sick. The key is pre-medicating once you get seasick it's too late.
Our first cruise was a 4 day. We didn't leave Port Canaveral until 4 am due to a tropical storm. I didn't take any meds and I was so sick I wished I was dead. Seasickness is the worst feeling in the world. The following three days the sea was as smooth as glass and it ended up being the best vacation ever. I've been hooked on cruising ever since. I'm the only one in my family that suffers from seasickness. My DH never gets seasick, but he has a hard time with rollercoasters. My kids never get seasick, but they get carsick.. You just never know until you try it. Simulators may bother you, but rolling around in the ocean may not. I would just recommend having meclizine or Dramamine on hand just in case.
Fidelity offers select trades commission free, but if that’s your thing a few brokers offer that. As for the bank account, it has benefits for international travel but Schwab’s checking account is better- if you can get that one instead I see 0 reason to keep Fidelity.Bank churners, any reason to keep Fidelity or Ellevest open? Trying to simplify my weekly account check ins.
I suffer from motion sickness. Simpsons, Mission Space, and teacups come to mind as rides I cannot handle. I've been on 3 cruises and have never gotten so sick I wouldn't go on one. Just have some meds handy just in case!I definitely feel that struggle! None of the rides bother me but I had seasickness the first sea day of our Alaska cruise. DS and I both woke up feeling yucky. Couldn’t eat breakfast, stayed in the room most of the morning although we tried walking around the ship to see if that helped. Took Dramamine IIRC, and felt better by noonish. No issues after that.I suffer from motion sickness. Simpsons, Mission Space, and teacups come to mind as rides I cannot handle.
