Just curious - how worried (if at all) are y’all about putting purely personal expenses on a business card (specifically the CIP2)? I’m in a Facebook group focused on maximizing URs and best using URs, and they have a handful of people over there with horror stories about getting all of their Chase accounts closed for improperly using business cards for personal expenses.

(My “business” is selling stuff on eBay and at consignment sales - I could *maybe* justify my cable/internet bill and cell phone bill, which always go on my CIP2, but I also like to put travel on it, and no way could I justify that as a business expense.)
We’ve never had a DP of shutdown for personal exp on a business card, here or on r churning that I’ve heard of. It’s basically impossible to prove so banks don’t bother. Something else happened to those people that they either don’t understand or aren’t owning up to.

Serious question... what happens if you don't stay there? I don't have kids and have no dog in this fight, but if someone told me I HAD to stay at the $150/night a hotel, I'd be like "nah... not doing that." lol

Well the team "agrees" to it when they sign up for an away tournament. For soccer, I do have a list of hotels normally I can chose from for the whole team. I think hockey operates differently. There's no real way they can force you, but I also don't wanna hear my kid nagging and upset we aren't in the same hotel as the rest of their team. Lots of "team bonding" goes on. LOL

Usually the team is required to have so many rooms. At one tournament our team decided to "buy out" our hotel pick. Basically we had to pay a penalty for not using the chosen hotel. I can't remember exactly what the reason was or how much the penalty was, it has been awhile. I think our hotel pick for that one was actually college dorm rooms and the parents said nope, not doing it.

Lol definitely makes sense on hearing your kid nagging. We had one horse show a year that my 4-H group would go to together out of town and I know it was always important to us that we stay together.

Ok, I give, I have to give them a try. Kind of embarrassed to admit but I currently use jumbo ziplocks. Is there a set or size that I should start out with? I'm on the road every other week, it's a grind. I welcome anything that can bring amazing into my life. Thanks

Hi :wave2: my name is Calypso and I am addicted to packing cubes.

I love the eBags packing cubes and Amex seems to know this because I always have eBags offers on every single card. Sigh. But I digress. I now have and love the ultralight packing cubes from eBags. PlanePrincess got them first and I thought he was silly for doing it because we had a lot of the originals. That was until I used a couple of his. Ok, sold! They are perfect and I use them on all of our trips now.

@SouthFayetteFan woohoo thanks approved! Easy 2 mortgage payments via plastiq and then I’ll have my husband grab one. Now let me ask you- you can’t combine AA miles correct? So we will have to treat these as separate earns? I know you’ve been 2P these so i figured you’d know!
Unfortunately there is no way to combine AA miles between spouses.

As I’ve been without an MSR for a while, I’ve been putting a lot of spend on my BoA AAA card, which hadn’t previously been getting much use over the last year. There was an offer emailed the end of July for an extra 2%, up to $100 cash back, as a statement credit, so that’s $5000 spend. Anyone else working on this offer? Just wondering, because I’m just hoping the offer credits properly. The offer ends 9/30. Would be interested in hearing DP’s of when people’s credit posts. I was thinking there was somebody else here that also got this offer on a BoA card.
I have this offer, or DH does on his BoA card, but unfortunately I have not pulled it out of the sock drawer yet...
It's pretty basic stuff, with an occasional winner. I buy it and I'm older. I like the fact that it's inexpensive and almost disposable, but still decent quality for $15 to $20 a piece. I see all ages browsing through. And at least at my store it turns over fast.
I think you hit the nail on the head. It turns over quickly at our store too. Sometimes there are really great things, and sometimes just nice to not have to think about something and if you can get a better deal somewhere else... for example, DHs jeans are something like that for me. I saw yesterday that they have men's Lucky jeans in again for $30. DH is hard on his jeans, and we got him 3 pairs of these last time. Not only have they held up to the abuse better than the one's we were getting at Kohl's, but I'm not watching/waiting for the Kohl's ones to go on sale from $50 to $20-$30... especially as DH is the type to be like, Oh yes I needed new jeans like yesterday... He's also really hard on belts and last year I got him a Columbia one there for $13. It's lasted so much longer that I wish I had purchased multiple!

Yesterday I bought a coat for $15 :D For that price I can give it a try with no guilt!

I got a dress there a few years ago and I wish I had bought all of the colors because I love it and I've never seen that brand back, even online.

Also guys I really just want to buy socks at Costco for work because it would be easy but they don't ever carry crew socks for women, just no show/ankle socks... which is what I prefer but I have to wear steel toe boots at work so I want crew socks for that! Maybe that won't be for much longer...?

can anyone confirm that the charges to your magic band will code as travel on your CC as they will basically be incidentals on your resort bill? Thanks so much! (I did search and couldn't find the answer).

I don't think this was answered. But generally yes. Magic Band charges go to your resort bill. Ultimately, it depends on how your credit card codes a hotel or resort bill, but almost all cards treat a hotel bill as "travel."

Our Costco has had some crew socks for women. When they don't we go into the girls sections and just get the largest size we can find and it works great.

possible incoming Amex Green refresh in the works?
if u try to go to the landing page, it redirects to another page.

Is that a no fee card? Amex's website is something else - I was trying to find the Gold card and it won't let me click it open. Redirects me, yet earlier it gave me an offer for it.

Another point - it's not like you have a big Costco sign on your back if you buy from them. I do also like the Kirkland brand for a few basics.

OMG Ya'll! P2 who is a slow/reluctant player just came to me and said we should look into a new card for him since August was a high month and we could probably meet another spend for another bonus with property taxes and hospital bills coming up. I almost fell over.
He said, "Can we do that?" Ha yes, yes we can dear! He can't do another app for Chase until November 14th, so I am thinking of Citi business so we can diversify points. ( I am working on my Citi Buisness AA).

He is 1/24
5/19-SW personal
8/19-SW business
All his other cards are much older.

He would prefer a deferred AF. The AF's are what cause him to turn his nose at the game and start complaining.
What is the best public Citi AA offer? It could be personal or business. I would be willing to buy a mailer also. I know the Graavy train, has slowed/stopped for multiples, but can you still get a bonus from at least 1 business and 1 personal?

Or is there a better hotel card I should be looking at instead? I was following the Hyatt chatter, and could go that route too.

TIA

Speaking of travel organization and bags. I use this for my cables and chargers. It holds a lot I have two cheap headphones in it (one for my IPhone and one for the entertainment system on delta lol) phone charger, battey and charger, and a charger for my Bluetooth headphones. I have separate chargers at home so I just throw this in my backpack when we travel and it makes everything so easy. I have a pink/purple one that they don’t sell anymore and SOs is all black. We love them.

It is called "stay to play." You don't stay, you don't play. I used to cancel my room last minute for soccer tourneys, like after the tournament people had verified we had enough rooms booked for our team. But for hockey, I don't want to do anything to cause him problems. If I get the reputation as "that annoying parent that won't cooperate" it could cause him to not make the team. As infuriating as it is, you know that's how it is when you agree to let your kid play at that level. And we are $7k deep into this season already, so what's another few hundred bucks. :faint:

DW has definitely gotten women's crew socks from Costco - some Adidas, and some Kirkland brand merino wool socks that she loves.

Ugh, that's so frustrating. But I get it, and I'm sure I would do the same thing for my kid.

This part is big too. When we have away games that are not "stay to play" I tend to book an embassy that fits our family, and for whatever reason that is never the team hotel. DS gets super upset. So now I just try to stick with the team hotel even when it isn't required, but usually I use points for that. Sometimes the group rate is low enough and I save my points and pay cash.
