Haha...just got ready to log into Amex and when I pulled up the page got 'offers for you' from them - the Plat -70K, the Gold - 50K, and the Cash Magnet - $200 statement credit for $1K spend. Too bad I can't do any personal right now, and already have the Gold.

Friendly (early) reminder that Southwest Airlines next schedule release is expected to occur on Thursday September 26th.
  • Currently SW is offering flights through 3/6/20 and this release will take their schedule out to 4/13/20 (covering popular spring break dates)
In my experience, flights typically go “live” between 7am and 9am Eastern. HOWEVER, The last 2 releases actually did not go live on the main search screen until 10:40 and 9:20am Eastern respectively.

I’ll post additional reminders as that date draws closer.
Thanks for the reminder! I need to book our MCO flights for DS's birthday trip/cruise/Spring Break.

Before I order one of these, does anyone have a different suggestion? @amalone1013, you fly frontier right?
We do, lately we've used the motherlode jrs for all of our trips. We have not been stopped/questioned over them with Frontier, though I've tried to make sure they aren't bulging on those trips since they are technically a teeny bit larger than the personal item size. Before that we were just taking normal backpacks on Frontier flights. Sorry I can't be more help!

I'm about to get into this also. I know I added an ebags offer to one of my cards. Have to check later today.
I had gotten an offer on one of my Amex cards for $20 off 100 and got a e-gift certificate. Then used that through the Southwest Shopping portal (7x points) for the Ebag motherlode weekender Jr. I would have gotten some compression packing cubes but I have more than I can use already. Does anyone know if this works for personal item for Frontier or is it to big?

u can almost constitute any personal expense as a business expense. Reddit had a question like this where ppl really really had to think of things that arent qualified as a business expense but ppl still came up with ways to turn it into a biz.
without knowing the full extent of the shut down, it's most likely something dumb they did.
heck, we had someone here put their white river rafting trip on their biz CC account. totally a business trip. :flower1:

@iujen94 - This is the most likely answer.

ETA: Heck, the shutdowns could have been completely unrelated to putting personal expenses on biz cards. If your FB group is about maximizing URs, I can totally see some people going app crazy and applying for Chase biz, personal, and other issuers' cards every month, which would raise their bust-out profile and cause Chase to shut them down. And that is why we also warn folks here to watch their velocity.

I’ve been following this game for 5+ years and never heard of anything like this happening. I hate to jump to conclusions but I’d be concerned this group is spreading misinformation. 😮

I’d be careful what you share with them though haha. Also no need to number your CIP in light of the recent announcement. It’s just a CIP now :D

Oh don’t worry - I mostly just read over there - I never share any tips that I learned over here! And just saw your announcement - makes perfect sense and means I’ll finally have to brave figuring out Reddit 😂

I just got it for DH yesterday. We need some more AA miles and he's 2/24. With no other personal card plans except SW in a few months.

Oops, just realized that didn't make sense as the original post was about the Arrival. I always mix up that and the Aviator. I was debating between the two, then went with the AA miles.

Is it the particular hotel or all of the hotels under the Marriott umbrella? I just put 1-2 in the number of guests always and have never had a problem. We are sometimes 2-3 adults and 2 kids but never over the capacity of beds in the room. If 3 adults I will have booked a suite of some sort with 2 queens and a sofa. (These are the mostly 1 night stays.)
It's the Element Brand. I booked a room that sleeps 5 but only included DH & I, not going to add the kids.

It is ridiculous!

Personal experience - since the IT merger, when I try to book 2 adults and 1 child at the Royal Hawaiian, Marriott’s site and app want to charge me a $100+ extra person fee — for a 6 y.o.! When I try Marriott’s other hotels in Waikiki, they also want to charge an extra person fee of varying amounts. Many of these hotels did not charge an extra person fee — especially for kids — when they were part of SPG. I called the hotel directly and asked what their policy is and they told me they don’t charge extra person fees for kids, that it’s a “glitch” in the new Marriott system, and to go ahead and book 2 adults and call to add a child and I won’t be charged.

Call the hotel directly and see what their policy is. Alternatively, others have suggested just booking 2 adults and having additional guests elsewhere while you check in for the entire 2+ party, and never tell them.

This issue was pissing so many people off that Marriott’s chief shill TPG wrote an article about it:
https://thepointsguy.com/news/marriott-adding-surcharges-children-award-bookings/
What makes me really angry is that 9 months later, and pissing off how many guests, and pocketing how many millions of dollars in extra person fees from the unwitting, this “glitch” is still happening and Marriott doesn’t think it’s a high enough priority to fix it.
That's just ridiculous, but if they are profiting from it I can see why they aren't in any type of hurry to fix the "glitch". I made the reservation for 2 adults in a room that sleeps 5.

If I close my business checking and savings accounts with Chase is that going to effect my CIP card? We've had too many issues and are most likely moving our business banking over to Wells Fargo. I'll still keep my personal accounts with them though.

Different topic. I can't see to get a referral link for my Disney Visa does not everyone get them?
