You are pretty much describing me, but I am unabashedly (is that a word?) rolling along at my own pace and every now and again something plump and juicy falls into my lap. I'm pretty easy to satisfy, I guess. There is not a day going by that I could probably do much more with what I have to work with. I never feel shame as I'm doing me, whatever that is.
Right there with you.

Ok thanks, will do. If I'm ok there, have not applied for any Chase cc's in the last 24 months, although I did use Chase for the mtg for my vaca house in Sebastian (I closed on 7/15), should I apply today for personal and if approved apply for the biz the following day?

No you would have to apply for the business card first...then once it’s approved apply for the personal at least a day later..

I logged into my mom's Marriott account since she's letting me use her Bonvoy points for our DLR trip next summer. I noticed that she has 2 35k free night certs. Most of her points come from a personal Chase Marriott card she got last year. Any idea how she has two certs? She said she hasn't even paid a second annual fee yet. I could see one, getting it on her card anniversary and not getting a bill yet for the AF, but not sure where the other could have come from? Did she get reversed Bonvoyed?!?

Did she accept an upgrade offer?

Use those 35k FNs to book the Fairfield Inn or SpringHill Suites before 9/14!

Unfortunately, purchasing giftcards no longer triggers the credit on AmEx cards (since ~6/19). The best info seems to get shared on Flyertalk. Most of the data points now call for splitting payment on a Delta flight - keep the AmEx credit card payment < ~$200-250 to trigger the credit while paying the remainder of the flight with a Delta gift card.

Some braver and more knowledgeable souls are purchasing refundable fares with Delta miles, paying for seat upgrades with the AmEx card, then cancelling the fare and taking the refund in a travel credit. I'd probably only do this if I was really under a time crunch to use the AmEx credit.

I was able to get a $50 one that was reimbursed. I'd have to go back and look. It was on the Delta Gold Biz. There was $50 credit w/ the sign up bonus. And in the past w/ Delta it was always $50 to trigger it. I think I did it back in June, if you're willing to gamble.

Just an update, I used the last link above for my P2, which says 75k but is actually 65k after spending $4k in 3 months and ufortuntely poinsts did not post. I was able to secure a mailer for myself but not my P2 so I had to roll the dice and unfortunately it didnt' work out. She had no cards open at the time the card was approved on 8/1/2019. This was her 4th business application and first where the points did not post (1st time was public link, 2nd was mailer, 3rd was public link and 4th was public link). Seems to be a total crap shoot at this point. At least these are business apps that don't add to 5/24 and the inquiry is on the Equifax report which rarely gets pulled but it is still a punch to the gut to look at the statement, hoping to see 69k miles, only to see 4k !

I went for the 75K too, I figured let's go big! I honestly don't remember my first sign-up. I guess once I hit 90 days, if I've got no MSR I'm meeting I might as well gamble, unless i can land a mailer. I have my Barclay Aaviator (that I did a balance transfer onto) so I'll have atleast 1 AA card for free luggage and reduced mileage flights. I'm w/ you.....It hurt to not get the 75k miles. But I guess my new plan (until I can land another AA SUB) is to do $5k in VGC when it's fee free. That gets me 5k of the 8750 miles I need for a one way flight w/o spend, LOL.

I knew that was the case with the MR cards, but is it the case with the Delta Amex which is specifically a credit for your first Delta purchase, not a generic airline credit?

I got it in June when I did the $50 credit on my Amex Delta Biz Gold.

Decided to run to Staples today and get another $1k in cards to get another 1k AA miles, LOL. My walmart that refused to do the transaction let me load $200 last night and $200 today. So now I just have certain people I have to avoid. My Staples allows as many cards as you want, but they do make a manager watch the transaction now. I'm debating hitting again tonight for another $1k and whether or not to hit the other near me for one last $1k, LOL.

I think I'm going to get DD a Serve so I can start mixing up the card I load onto.

And on a side note......I'm so over Harbaugh, I've never hated a UM coach as much as DRod before....but I think he's now surpassed my hatred for that man! At least he wasn't regarded as the golden child coming home :rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2:crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

I have found the holy grail of MS a grocery store that lets me buy MOs with a credit card. The problem it’s 30 mins away. A Walmart is about 10 mins from the grocery store that lets me load serve and get MOs with the gebit cards from GCM. Is it worth driving there every weekday?

For me the answer is no but for everyone else here, the answer is probably yes. I do not like driving and never drive anywhere unless I absolutely need to be somewhere (like work).

How did you find this holy grail - by experimenting on purpose, like you actively went to this store to see what would happen?

No, I don't think so. Although sometimes she gets a little confused so I guess it's possible.

Edited - I got confused - The Fairfield Inn isn't available right not for my dates, only through June! Trying to decide if the Farifield Inn or Four Points is better - any opinions? I guess I should go for the Fairfield since it's 35k and the Four Points is only 25k? According to google maps they're the same walking distance from DLR.

I just called and was able to extend my own 35k certs that would have expired in May and June to Sep so I can use my own too. Didn't get hung up on or anything :)

As a WVU fan I share your hatred for RichRod. And as a Mississippi State fan I can now laugh that Ole Mess has him. :rotfl2:And as a demoted offensive coordinator at that. And as a Notre Dame fan, I believe I am supposed to hate Harbaugh also. :rotfl2:I am still learning on that one though, only a one year fan so far. lol

Have you seen any DPs on how long those should take to show? I did the 2 free certs for one purchase. I made my purchase September 1 and nothing yet.

I hate formatting a resume. How do I know what it should look like???? I learned that it should NOT be a giant block of text but so many examples are, even all of the current ones from my University's career center website

I’m sorry, wasn’t this supposed to be done already? Lol jk

As a teacher, we were taught the 6x6 power point rule and I use that for my resumes too. Basically for each experience you can have no more than 6 bullet points describing your experience and each bullet point should have no more than 6 words. It helps trim down unnecessary words and makes it look cleaner.

CIP2 approved!
Now for the failures for the day....
Drove 30 minutes (gotta LOVE pdx traffic) to the nearest Staples. Computers down, cash only. One per person and they say their ad doesn't include fee free. Anyone know where I can find the fee free in writing? Staples dot com didn't show it.

Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

Will you come make powerpoints at my company! I despise anytime they put them up in a meeting/training because they are always paragraphs that they read word for word, it drives me INSANE

DH is 2/24. Not due for another CIP until October 3.

We have spend coming up so he says yes, you can get me a new card.

I don’t know if I should go for an Amex or just keep chilling another month so we can keep up with the CIP’s. Chase loves him; Amex not so much.

I can pull the 75k Plat incognito using my 20k referral. I don’t think I will ever get the 100k offer. (And a little sick of trying to track it down as the Platicorn is particularly elusive). I am torn between it and just getting him the Gold if I can. 50k for a decent card and only $2000 spend is attractive. I have even considered the Gold Biz but don’t love the $295 fee and only 50k MR’s for the $5000 spend.

His only MR earning card is the BBP. I would like to start building his stash.

Any thoughts?
