2 of my 5 amex are personal. But I did just (Monday) open a Nordstrom's card (I know, I have resisted Nordstroms and preached the sermon on department cards) but they have so many sales and deals tied to the card I balanced the points I was getting using say CSR vs what I would get for using the deals dealt out by Nordy and it just makes since for me, I said to myself). Any hoo, I did not have immediate regret so I think it was the right thing for me. The inquiry did not show on KC so maybe I have a small window to apply for both SW today?
Chase will not approve two cards on the same day....they also have a 1/30 rule for business cards...you cannot have applied for any other chase card...business or personal in the last 30 days
We recommend waiting 2-3 months between Chase applications

Chase 5/24 includes all open and closed personal cards....also the 24 month clock on getting SW bonus is from when your last bonus posted not when the card was opened
If you want to get the CP to cover 2020 and 2021 you need to get the bonuses in 2020
Oh jeez, how do you find out when the last bonus posted? I think I am ok that way, I'll check when they were opened and add 3 months. I think (but this falls in the maybe I'm not looking at it right) I am less concerned with the CP for an extra 8 months then taking advantage of getting the bonus's and extra points for future use. But welcome different opinions.

You can look back in your RR account to see when they posted

Ok thanks, will do. If I'm ok there, have not applied for any Chase cc's in the last 24 months, although I did use Chase for the mtg for my vaca house in Sebastian (I closed on 7/15), should I apply today for personal and if approved apply for the biz the following day?

I agree but I just realized I let my last free night expire (another example of one of those inadequate moments) but on the bright side I had many free nights thanks to info I got here (100k sign up bonus) and part of a 2 month relocation package.

I pretty much book my free nights within a few weeks of getting them so far. I have 8 free nights per year available - 5 Marriott, 1 IHG, 1 Hyatt, and 40K Radisson points (can be more than 1, can be less than 1) and I only have the new IHG that I just got in August and my Radisson points left. The Radisson points will be used partially in November. My sign up bonuses on my Marriott cards are pretty much intact and growing at present, but the future may mean using them. I'm most interested in growing my Hyatt stash, hence my quest for UR's to transfer.

Legit my photo looks like the women you see on the news that were arrested for DUI after driving a school bus full of third graders. It's really bad. I thought about going elsewhere, paying again for a new photo but DH said I was being nuts since no one but me and passport control will ever see the photo. He's probably right... but still.
The CM's that check you in for your cruise will see it.

My husband got the SW card early this year with the sign on companion pass deal through Dec 31st of this year. He added me as an authorized user to meet the $4,000 spend.

I tried applying a few months after he got his and was rejected for "too many applications" so they must have counted his against me.
Would removing me take that off my counted applications?

Yes, but you need to contact chase and someone needs to contact the credit bureau it was reported to.

@Alice Sr., to better help you, it would be best to list all your cards and when you got them. If goals are to get southwest points and you don't care about a companion pass that may change recommendations, the new SW business card gives an 80,000 sign up bonus which depending on your your current cards may be your best choice. The other option would be an UR earning card to transfer SW points. I would caution you to not rush in and apply until you can get some strategy set up.

Please list all your current cards like the first few posts recommend, including AU's. Chase has a hard 5/24 rule, it sounds like possibly you are running into that and AU's count against you. You can remove an AU, but if you still have too many opened cards it may not matter.

Apparently, Chase is delaying posting anniversary FN certs on their Hyatt and Marriott cards by several weeks like Amex. I think we've had a few reports of that here recently.
And more DPs in the comments:

FWIW, my Marriott Premier Plus/Bonvoy Boundless anniversary is 8/8 and I received my 35k FN cert on that exact date.
Mine did also, I checked early the morning of my anniversary and it wasn't there but it was the following morning.

:rotfl:
I know how you feel but I've now decided I just don't care anymore. As long as they aren't going to question if it's me or I'm trying to use someone else's IDs, I'm over it lol.

I did book our 3rd Delta Vacation package yesterday. Flying to Burbank for Spring Break! DH's sister lives there and will hit some of the sites we didn't see on our last trip. We have not decided on going to DL yet, but there is availability at the Grand Californian right now but I doubt I can snag it in the morning when the 7 month opens up.

This promotion was such a great deal for us. I was able to combine the points in mine and our daughters' Delta accounts with MR to book some of the trips. We never use those points since DH has status and we can change trips booked with his skymiles trips for free. Booked almost $10K in travel for next year with skymiles, MR, $223 out of pocket and was able to use $550 in Delta GCs. I need more MR and Skymiles now!!

Ok, I have a cookout to show up at by 1pm. Also need to stop by Safeway and get another Happy Card - today is the last day. That's another $10 off gas and some MR points for this month, plus will use my Freedom on the remainder of the gas cost. And there will be a couple of rewards left over for a free item or two at Safeway. I had to write myself a note or I'll just sit here all day watching birds and reading posts as daughter is working this morning and I'm not motivated to do anything. I would 'miss' the cookout by being passive, but that's not a good idea.

I know I had this on my card some time back. I didn't use it. I'm wondering of this is a 'new' offer, since it doesn't expire until Dec 9.

I just counted back 24 months. I got two cards under my name in 24 months, was added as user on one of my husbands.
I have three other cards in my name that are about 5 years and older.
So I assume at this point, Chase would count 3/24?
My goal would be the companion pass for next year.
The SW card my husband got earlier this year had a sign on for 30,000 pts and Companion pass through the end of 2019.
I do not qualify for the Business card.
We've gotten used to that benefit and will sorely miss it if we cannot obtain another companion pass!

Off to check for this one since we could really use it since AT&T is our Internet provider.

I have a different perspective on the $49 annual fee. There isn't a hotel out there in the less than $49 range that I'm going to sleep in. With IHG, you can get double the value with the smallest redemption. I do a lot of road tripping so it works for me. When I hear people giving up this free night, I want to pay their fee and collect the night, lol! The only time I spend on the IHG card is at IHG properties, so it is an extra piece of plastic to maintain.

Yeah, we don't do road trips, but I agree it's perfect for that. I think there's still a few good hotels where we go to make it worthwhile, but with as much as IHG has changed recently, who knows how long that lasts.

Thank you, good idea.

Chase SW biz and personal closed in April (bonus restriction period passed)

I was a pretty loyal SW flyer (Midway) but after relocating to MI I have been using Delta. Since the whole family will be going to Vero in April getting SW cc's again will be beneficial plus that opens an option to fly to Aulani in a couple of years via the west coast. Although I am getting push back on that so will likely want cycle back to United points (for the non-stop option out of Chicago) in the near future (as in, after I am clear for SW applications timewise).
I do pay my CC off each month and do have lots of organic spending opportunities :(

Thank you!

Edited to add no AU's
