I mean she maybe 100% right. The people in my area could be doing Walmart bill pay and paying their credit card with a bunch of $200 cards. I think doing that often will get you shutdown though by the bank.

The same guy was at Staples again so I grabbed five cards and had five credit cards all in my name ready to do separate transactions, but the line was getting long and a manger called me over. He said I could get one. I even asked to do them in separate transactions. That was a no go. Anyway, there was a nice lady at the staples a bit further away from me and she let me get $2,000 worth. She said “a lot of people have been coming in and getting these giftcards and using them at Walmart to pay their credit card so they get free airline miles, or something like that.” My response, “ oh, that’s weird”

Wish mine would allow more than 1. The manager won’t even allow certain cashiers to do the visas.

So WiFi is not working all day at home. There’s a known outage but they don’t know when they will fix it.

Spent 2 hours on the phone with southwest to get my flights changed. Apparently I can’t change them once a cp is attached and the kids are attached. Used to be able to adjust them myself. Got our flights changed to the airport closest to my parents and canceled my reserved parking at the other airport.

I added the 3 day flex tickets to my Delta Vacations package for our 2021 trip! Now I'm out of both Delta miles and MR. Need to replenish...

In other news, I noticed that there was a banner in my BBP account saying that the 15,000 MR referral offer ends on Sept. 25, so it looks like that elevated referral is ending soon. Not sure if others already reported this - I know we talked about the Biz Plat referral but couldn't remember if anyone covered the BBP.

I just got an email from the London Waldorf that I will have executive lounge access and free breakfast in the restaurant. I knew that, but it was nice to see it in writing. I love my Aspire card. Even if I hardly use the card the free night, resort credit and diamond status make it worth it for me,

When I’m at work is usually when I start looking for another job. Tells you how much I love my current one. I’ve gotten offered two jobs in the last month. Good money but not enough Vacation time.

The Delta Vacations WDW tickets are coming in my e-mail one by one. I was practically giddy when the first one came in, lol. Then my heart dropped when the attachment said "This is not your ticket. You must still visit Will Call". I was able to link it in MDE though, so I think it's all good?

FYI - Amex is running a 30% transfer bonus for MR to Marriott through 10/31/19. Not the best use of MRs, but the transfer bonus makes it better than transferring URs if that’s what you were considering.

Thanks for this, Lain. I'll have to check it out, although I don't think it's a great value on MRs. I told myself I wouldn't transfer any more points over to Bonvoy, especially since they aren't really treating anyone well these days, but I'll still run the numbers and make sure. I appreciate the heads up on this one.

Got a call today from Delta Vacations wanting to verify that I really wanted (2) 10 day Park hopper tickets even though my flight was for one person and my hotel was for two people and the whole trip is only lasting three days.

After confirming that YES I actually wanted those 10 day tix for my 2 day trip, the CSR verified AGAIN until I assured her that I knew what I wanted. I could hear the "this person is CRAZY" in her voice! Twenty minutes later, the email from WDW arrived with the confirmation number. Tickets have been successfully loaded into MDE. YAY!

My plan is to cancel the hotel and flight eventually, but I'll let the dust settle from all of the 24 hour cancellations. Fingers crossed the voucher is for the doubled points amount. But, if not, that is OK because I really only ever wanted the 2 for 1 tickets. I DID get the insurance, but it was only $44 and was paid in points, too.

Going to be fun to see how people are able to "churn" this if it comes up again.

I'm assuming/hoping the will-call thing means that the email is not your ticket. It'll be a while before I can try to link them in MDE but I think it would be very weird for the tickets not to work if they are linked in MDE.

Same here--I will cancel the flight and room but will wait a bit, although I think there might be penalties for canceling too close to the scheduled flight/checkin. For some reason I have it in mind that I should cancel before 30 days but there's been so much to keep straight about this process that I could well be wrong about that. Right now I'm at 46 days.

And I'm also curious to see if Delta runs this promo again. I need to figure out how I can get more MRs and/or Skymiles between now and then . . .

I'm most worried about vacation time with changing jobs. On one hand, I have a lot with my current place. On the other hand, they expect crazy hours and I'm here most weekends (unless I'm off on a trip). So it's like... right now I get 21 days but am at work at least half the weekends throughout the year. Then I see some place that's like, you get 6 days of PTO! And I'm like... no.

I'm feeling a bit better about pay... the last few times I've looked around, no one wanted to pay anything. I had a friend who kept kind of lecturing me that I just needed to take a pay cut. Her example was herself - but she didn't really take a pay cut she decided to quit her under $200 net per month part time job. I couldn't get across that it wasn't quite the same situation - all I could find where places wanting to pay 1/2 to maybe 2/3 of my current base. And I wasn't even expecting to make close to my true salary due to all of the OT!

Awesome! Yes mine said “will call” too but they linked seamlessly to MDE and I even tested it out and I could book fast passes at 30 days so it should all sink up to the magic band

That makes sense about the will call thing.

Linked all 4 tickets in MDE, where they will safely remain for the next 15 months or so. Canceled the package and lost $141, which is fine. Guess it's the flight cost, but it's a little more than buying the flight separately. Will be getting back $293. No miles back after logging out and back in, so should be a voucher. Hope I can find something to use it on.

Didn't buy the insurance since it was $150. Not sure why it seems higher than what others have reported.
