The studio will have a microwave, which could be useful if you bring some groceries and are there for a few days. The regular room might have a little more space but also probably an extra bed that you don’t need.
Jambo house doesn’t have quick service does it? It’s not connected to AKL right?

@Haley R Universal info in case it’s still on your radar. According Lowe’s website pets are normally allowed at Sapphire Falls, Royal Pacific & HardRock but not Adventura or Cabana Bay. Link “useful information” for pets and phone numbers to call them. There is a $100 cleaning fee per stay, up to 2 pets. I would call the hotels to find out if that’s being waived for the hurricane. Also no idea if they do hurricane rates by phone like Disney does but it’s worth a call. From my research SF is all inside connected as is RPR but I would double check with the hotels when you call. Idk about Hard Rock. There is even a way to walk between SF & RPR all inside through the convention center but idk if it will be open for that.

On the chance they allow pets anywhere for Dorian...
Cabana Bay: I had to walk outside for like 10 feet between buildings when I stayed there to get to the lobby with the food. This was when it was originally built and we had the farthest room pretty much possible and it required walking through like 2 buildings to hit the lobby. Idk if it’s changed since then but if you aren’t allowed outside at all that would prevent you from accessing the lobby/food area if you’re stuck in one of those buildings.

The good news is those are all definitely in Jambo with main lobby access. You’ll be safe and have food and a common area to hang out in the lobby (and a gorgeous one at that!).

Bring food if you can. If it gets to the point that they start shutting things down, food may not be as easily accessible even in a deluxe resort. Reading about past hurricanes at Disney, they were selling premade $15 box lunches. They had the Boma buffet going for breakfast but not at a reduced cost. The good thing is you will more than likely still have electricity, tv and entertainment, plus your cats.

We are getting gas then heading for Orlando. We have tons of food and water with us. I can’t believe how many people are staying. I just hope we are able to get back home. We booked tonight through Thursday

Yes! I downloaded the soundtrack this morning. The lyrics are much clearer on digital than in the theater, but now I get to replay the performances on stage in my mind while listening to the songs through my earphones. I didn’t have trouble following the story; I read Ron Chernow’s biography a few years ago so I’m familiar with Hamilton’s life. But hearing all the lyrics just deepens my appreciation for how sharp the “battle” songs are, and songs with Eliza and Angelica, and Dear Theodosia, are tugging at my heartstrings.

There are songs I had to leave off the CD I made to listen to in my car because they full-out make me cry.

Our household was pretty Hamilton-obsessed in the year before we got to see it. There are some interesting videos on-line that I liked watching -- some interviews with Lin-Manuel Miranda and some special performances of the Hamilton cast. I do wonder if Miranda will ever do another musical.

Just got this e-mail from the City of Boca Raton (I get e-mails from the city through Nextdoor):

Urgent Alert:
Boca Raton Neighbors...the 11am update from the National Hurricane Center hasn't changed the track much.
However, they have issued Hurricane Watches for our area effective immediately. Continue to make preparations and keep monitoring local media and this feed for updates as they are issued

I know everyone probably knows this but it's probably important to reiterate, the forecast track cone of uncertainty is not an area-of-effect cone. It's simply showing the landfall probabilities, meaning just the eye. For a better picture of effects, the wind speed probability paints a better picture. The tropical storm-force winds graphic is included in the NHC's key messages. There's also a hurricane-force wind probability available.

Our area was still in the cone and that was one main reason we left. I didn’t feel comfortable staying when the eye could go through our town

I've been reading all this for the last couple of days. So what are they saying? Is there any possibility that this storm won't turn? I've read that a very slight left will take it over land. Is that just a way of saying, 'we really don't know what this is going to do. We hope it turns, but it could just keep heading west.'

The cone of uncertainty would lead the lay person to believe that it's going up the coast, because that's how .gov paints the picture in all the graphics.

If I’m being honest, I don’t think anyone has a clear idea what this thing will do. With winds of up to 200 mph it needs its own category. I honestly just don’t know if it’s going to turn up north.
