I am thinking about renting a car this time...gasp. Is there parking close to the LM buildings at AofA?
I can't deal with standing around at the airport rental counter on arrival. Who has the handy go-straight-to-the-car program like Hertz? I can do Hertz for $160, but want to try to beat it if another company has skip-the-counter.

Me too! We had a dog growing up because my dad is severely allergic. Unfortunately, I feel like I've been developing allergies to cats in recent years 😭
This is pretty common. I know so many people, including just about every female in my family, who could tolerate cats when they were younger but developed an allergy as they got older.

We've rented at MCO a couple times and it has always been super fast. Cars are on site too so no shuttle. I actually love renting there and I think we are moving to that for future trips after our last trip busing experiences.

Okay - I would love some advice/expert eyes on my current strategy! We finished P2's CIP #2 pretty quickly, so we've been without an MSR for about a month (which feels so strange!). We're using our AMEX Gold for purchases right now.

8/21/18 - CIP #1 (P1)
10/24/18 - CSP (P1)
1/4/19 - CIP #1 (P2)
3/13/19 - CIP #2 (P1)
5/3/19 - Citi AA Biz (P1)
5/7/19 - Aviator Biz (P1)
6/13/19 - CIP #2 (P2)

I'm planning to go for CIP #3 for me around 9/13, then for P2 early December (I'm chugging on that cup as long as I can!). I'm also planning to PC the CSP to the CSR for the 1.5x redemption rate. DH just got a new job, and while we are still planning on a snow trip (not sure to where yet) and Disneyland next year (most likely in the summer), it'll be next week at the earliest until I know more date details for those 2 trips. We also have an RCCL cruise booked for March 2021. I wasn't planning to use any URs for that, but I'm not against it either!

Since I don't need SW CPs until the summer, I'm thinking of doing the SW DD early next year. I'll be flying on SW in mid February for a work trip, if that matters.

I put regular spend on the one AMEX I have... I know that MRs are more beneficial for international travel (which I'd love to do in the future), and our current MR stash is 300K+. Would it be worth a shot for another AMEX?

I appreciate any thoughts/advice! 🙂

P2 CSP (60K UR + 15K for P1 referral) or MDD and PC the P1 CSP to a CF or CFU would be my first recommendation as long as P2 is under the 48 month sapphire bonus requirement.

It makes me so sad. I was around them a lot growing up because my grandparents still had them plus others including a friend who I spent a lot of time with. And DHs cats did not bother me at all in college. It was after college I noticed it a bit.. and now one of DHs that never bothered me seems to sometimes make my eyes itchy. But it's not everytime I am around her :confused3 We (at least I) was hoping to take this cat with us when we moved. I'd still like to give it a shot and see if being inside/dieting her would help (she is the fat one with all the mats  ). But if we move out of state I'm not sure about trying then...

DH and I have issues with them both. I haven't noticed cats being worse than dogs. He's sad because he always had a cat growing up (and one dog). It's made us take our beloved YC off the list of places we can stay. Oh, and I had issues while just standing and watching the kids play with the petting zoo animals at our block party last week, so apparently I'm allergic to one of more of the following: alpaca (yes, we had an alpaca LOL), chickens, bunnies, pigs, sheep, and goats. I wasn't allergic to anything as a kid. :(
The protein is in the saliva and it can vary from cat to cat or dog to dog in terms of how bad they flare you. There's no way to judge based on breed even. My dd19 reacts to some cats with just mild eye itching and others, she can hardly breathe. A few years ago, playing with a gray tabby sent her asthma into orbit but our next door neighbors got a gray tabby last year and it's at our house (outside) all the time and sits in dd's lap and doesn't even bother her. It's so weird!

I grew up with a cat. She tolerated me dressing her up in baby clothes and let me push her around in a stroller. She was my bf all during my hard school years. She was an amazing cat!

Then dh and I adopted two cats right after we got married but once I got pregnant, my grandma cautioned me against having a newborn and a cat (one of ours had scratched me pretty severely) so right before dd was born, we rehomed them. Sometimes I wonder if dd has such a severe cat allergy because of me breathing so much cat dander while pregnant with her...? I also craved peanuts while pregnant with her. Normally I don't eat them or pb but when I was pregnant with her, I craved both. She has a very severe peanut allergy as well.
Huh that’s strange about the allergies while you were pregnant. We definitely won’t be getting rid of our cats once we have a baby. I’ve been researching already just to prepare for when that happens.

The worst are the clowns that go to ground zero taking smiling selfies.
Some people are so insensitive. My Army son was very angry at the smiley selfies, etc at Pearl Harbor. My Navy vet husband wasn't around me at that point so he didn't experience those people. Personally, I'm a "connected" person and the grief and sadness was just too much for me.

We lived in SoMD at the time and DH had just come off a mid-watch in DC. I had to wake him, even though he had to report back that night. I don't think he slept for a few days, always ready to be called in due to his job in the Navy. I kept my oldest home from school. I had a hard time going near the Pentagon after that.

If it's lose the certs or cancel I say enjoy a couples weekend!
To update. IHG would have been able to manually re-instate the certificate even after the cancellation deadline (if they weren't expiring) and the hotel said there would be no penalties.
But we decided to go and come back Sunday evening instead of Monday afternoon. The Sunday night stay was on points, so we got all those back and did not lose our free nights. It did cost me an extra 2100 SW miles though, but that's not a big deal. Too bad the weather looks crappy LOL.

With my dog we played lots of crying baby sound from YouTube and carried a doll around the house!
She was a rescue dog, so the dog trainer recommended us to do. I think it worked!

Omg that’s adorable lol. That actually was something it said to do: playing crying baby sounds. It also said to set up the nursery as early as possible so the cats can get their scent on things. Then put tin foil or double sided tape on the crib so they won’t try getting in

Lol the millennial way is using extra to describe someone’s over the top behavior.

Example SO to me a few days ago: “I’m going to need you to calm down you are being really extra right now”
I am soooo gonna use that on my 13yo this week. She's been extra whiney lately.

I've been banned (by her) from using "savage" and a few other words. I do it to irritate her now.

Was able to switch my 2 nights at coranado to the passholder rte and save 50! Only 2 options for the other 3 nights on site so we've got 3 at the hilton off site with the dis promo code. Can cancel more than 5 days out and pay the remaining bal at check-in. But really I need people to cancel c'mon 45 days!
