I don’t fly often enough to know...can you travel gurus help me with SW flights? We just noticed they changed our departure on us and we now have a 4 hour layover (was 55 mins when we booked) in ATL for what’s a 2 hr drive home. Is there anything we can do to try to get an earlier flight? I’m guessing they won’t refund us that part of the leg either. Ugh.

Anyone have an AA citi personal card mailer that you aren't using? Can you PM if you have one I can buy? I've been going back and forth on what card to get next. After chatting with my wonderful dh, thank God for that man who just listens as I chat his ears off, I think a personal AA for him is the way to go!
Dh just got a personal mailer for the AAdvantage Executive World Elite. You can have it, but beware that it has a $6,000 MSR in 3 months and the AF is $450.00. Not very attractive for 60,000 points. It has a 12 number code and no 48 month language.

There's been lots of discussion on the Amex airline credit still working with smallish denomination SW flights. I saw ~$102 worked for reimbursement.

I had to buy a SW ticket anyway, so I tried it - after a couple weeks, $143.98 still has not been reimbursed. So the threshold is somewhere between $102 and $148, apparently.

Is it in November? You can rebook for free here www.southwest.com/rebook3 otherwise if you call they will move you

I just got a call from Barclays to verify my identity (they asked for my DOB). After I verified that she put me on hold and came back and said I was approved with a $16,000 CL :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2::cheer2::Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc! I asked if it could be expedited and she said to call back in a half hour (once the card info was generated) and they would expedite and the card would be here on Tuesday (for a $15.00 charge). Yay!! Another 60,000 miles on their way!

Gulp. Oh my. I just looked at we quite a bit over that this year. There are quite a few cards that will be canceled in the next few months though... And the 2 extra Platinum cards both came with 100K MRs each, so that helps, as does the $1K in AA gift cards.

That was just my list. I didn’t include the PlanePrincess list which basically looks like mine and then some. He’s got a few cards that are getting cancelled too. We will be going AU on a couple of cards next year once we get under 5/24 and manage to get CIP and Hyatt cards.

The next challenge that determines whether or not I keep the personal Plat long term will be finding a work around on triggering the airline credit since GCs no longer work.

I guess I should post my list...

Uhhhh
Ummm
Well...
On yeah!
SW Plus (so that I retain the best gift card redemption rate)
CSR (which I did via PC and will double dip the TC so that’s like a -$150 AF 😝 )

And uhhh that’s it other than the occasional first year AF on a new card 😇

Nothing but love for you @calypso726! Your list of AFs is amazing.

You crack me up!

Now lest everyone think I’m insane for all those AFs, rest assured each card gets evaluated each year. Year over year, the hotel cards are worth the fee. We have never redeemed a FN cert that didn’t outweigh the fee. The Club Carlson card doesn’t have a FN cert but does give me 40k points on every card Anniversary. We’ve used it for multiple stays in Europe over the years and it has more than paid for itself. I view AFs on hotel cards like a vacation savings account.

I’ve got decisions to make pending the outcome of triggering airline credits on the Amex Plat, Rose Gold and Aspire. The Amex Plat is closest on the chopping block. If the number of MR I earned in one year at 4x on dining outweighs the fee then I may keep it. I won’t get rid of my Aspire card as I can still make excellent use out of it between the resort credit and annual FN on a weekend. However, my plan to get and then keep a second Aspire via upgrades might change.

Nothing but love for you too @SouthFayetteFan :flower3:

Thank you for the offer but I’m not wanting the $450 AF card! Yikes! 😮

That is an absurdly high CL from Barclays. Only because I'm curious, is this your first card from them? It's unusual for them to give such a high limit on your first card - they start you off slow.

More school shopping today. Apparently, the Sperry docksides DS got are incorrect. They need to be dark brown with dark soles. And his tan socks need to be either brown or black. Thank goodness for Amazon one day shipping so the, hopefully, correct shoes will arrive tomorrow so he will have them on Mon. Picky, picky, picky.

Well that's a bummer for your team but it seems they are a younger team so there is time to rebuild!

And a music major! That's something! What was your primary instrument? I did marching band all three years of high school (9th graders were in junior high where I went) and 5 seasons of marching band at ASU. Many, many years ago. :)
One of my DDs was a music major in college too!! Are you still playing? All 3 of my kids are involved with music. My other DD plays sax and clarinet in local theatre groups and my DS sings with his colleges chorus.
I was a trombone player in college. These days I’m the church pianist on the weekends. Of course I’m a banker by day so the music as a job thing just wasn’t for me.

Is that the one with lounge access? Their lounges are so nice! But I agree—no $450 annual fee cards for me (except csr and spg luxe:)
Yes, it is the card with lounge access. Dh is crazy enough that he might see a value in it since he flies AA so often. It's really the only type of card he'd consider since he is not into more than 1 card at a time and he loves his AmEx Plat.
