My $100 credit posted 5/7 :confused3

When did your credit post?

@DrFacilier @disneymagicgirl When did your Disney Visa upgrade credits post? Do you have the AF yet?
Still hasn’t posted. I’m going to use my -$95.20 balance to put towards my trip in a couple of weeks and just pay the AF if/ when it posts.

ETA: Sorry I didn't read this correctly the first time. my $100 credit posted on 6/2 @PolyRob still haven't been charged an AF

I’m surprised by how many of your DHs don’t want anything to do with bills. We’re almost the opposite. We’re both fully on board with churning and ccs but Dh is actually the one that handles all of the bills and keeps track of the category spending. I’m the one that does all of the research (help from you guys mostly lol) so we know what card to go for next and I plan all of our trips.

Also, here’s your not so inspirational quote for the day: “If you make a mistake, don’t worry, we all knew you would”

Back from my week on the beaches of NC. I really need to figure out how to qualify for a second mortgage on 1 income, LOL. I NEED to buy a property down there. I had found one this spring and the rental income would have more than covered the expenses, but alas I can't qualify for 2 mortgages on a teacher income, LOL. Hell I'm surprised I'm floating the $300k one myself already, LOL.

Excited to see the staples offer on Visa GC. I'll finish out my spend on the Citi #2 (less than $500). But I'm in popup land w/ Amex. I know you can't use this method to meet a MSR with Amex, but will this make the popup gods happy if I spend on my Amexs on GCs at Staples?

I did use my Amex while in NC, little spending here and there, but maybe I can get the popup to go away. How long before people normally try again after the popups?

From the United website:

Complimentary seat selection and upgrades are not available
When you choose a Basic Economy ticket, your complimentary seat will be automatically assigned prior to boarding, and you won't be able to change your seat once it's been assigned. Advance seat assignments may be available for purchase during booking and up until check-in opens. You will not be eligible to purchase Economy Plus® seating or receive Economy Plus subscription benefits. MileagePlus members, including Premier® members, cannot use complimentary, earned or mileage upgrades.

So it looks like maybe you could pay for seat assignments depending on availability but not upgrade to E+. That's how I read it anyway.
Aha! Hmmm... I agree with how you are reading it. I could book these seats on UR portal then maybe upgrade, using credit if needed. Maybe just book one as Econ Plus anyways for a carry on as that's all we'd need.

I just thought y’all needed to go back to school shopping - clothes, supplies, backpacks :rotfl:
Some of us do that way ahead of time! I will say I am struggling this year since there is a lot more that is needed. I did leave myself a day since we get home late Wed and school starts on Fri for new student orientation and then I have the weekend to finish up whatever I missed.

Does anyone pay CC (Chase) bills with money orders? Is it risky? Asking for a friend. Chase does list paying by check or money order under "other credit card payment options" on their site.

My return flight from MCO in November says it’s a Max 8. I didn’t think about it when I was booking,....

Don't know what airline you're flying, but Southwest is accommodating with switching to comparable flight for free that is not scheduled to fly on a Max 8. Also, Southwest has been removing Max 8 scheduled flights on a monthly basis since earlier this year. On July 18, they removed all Max 8 schedules through Nov 2. Based on how things are going with the Max 8, high chance they will extend that to December soon sometime this month.

This is when I was thinking most of the south was back in by. And are parents really taking vacations until a couple days before school starts?? Maybe, I guess...as a homeschooler, I am out-of-touch. I just feel like if my kids were back in school on Aug 12, I'd be done with vacations the weeks before. What is weird is that we are at WDW Aug 5-15. Our days at the beginning and at the end have all increased.

I would have thought those last few days of your trip would have been good for low crowds. We started Aug 1st, but most of the counties around us start Aug 5th and 12th. We are in GA. Hope you have a great trip!!

Just book economy. That comes with a free carry-on per ticketed passenger. No need for economy plus unless you want the extra legroom.

Hi everyone! Been trying to keep up with the fast & furious pace here, so I apologize in advance for just jumping in after being gone for a while.
Quick update, met MSRs on P1 & P2 CIP#1 over the last couple of weeks, and now trying to decide where I want to turn next for our upcoming big spends (tuition!)
Considering CIP#2 for P1, but we're only just over 60 days from initial application. Keep waffling over jumping on the grAAvy train since our upcoming flights will be AA/BA, but our tix are already purchased, so I'm not sure if we'll see any significant benefits (seat upgrades?)

On a related note, I know this is a well-traveled group, and I'm wondering if any of you have experience with CLT airport. I've tried to research minimum connection times, and I'm beginning to get concerned. Do any of you think 55min is adequate for a connection to an international flight? I know CLT is not that big, but we saw some significant crowding due to construction last time we were in the airport, and that was only a domestic connection. This one will be regional jet/domestic to international. Should I start making plans to switch to an earlier flight now?

We just did an international connection but we had hours between flights. The airport is great in that all the airside areas are connected so you would just have to rush to your next gate. I would try for a little bit more time but if you can’t, I found it to be a very manageable airport. I would worry about a flight delay on your first flight.

@disneymagicgirl I sent my DD your DDs post and she said oh my gosh she made that sound worse than I ever imagined, I would never want to do that. 🤣🤣🤣. Backfired. Lol

:rotfl2:
Well tell her that my DD was assigned to the busiest quick service there is and that is why it was so rough. Whenever I was there and she would use her blue ID for a discount, whomever was taking it (restaurant, store, etc) would ask where she worked. They always replied about how that has to be the hardest job at wdw.

Just showing off how unknowledgeable I am about United :rotfl: I checked again, definitely just mean economy. Cheap Alyssa is just looking at it going, why would I want to pay an additional $40 each on these tickets when I only need one carry on between us, if I can just pay $15 for seat assignment on the basic economy ticket.
