Logged into DH's HiltonBiz to order Priority Pass for our upcoming trip and it says the benefit is currently unavailable. Anyone know why?

Car, lightrail and monorail to get to my run tonight. Starts and ends at seattle center before the torchlight parade, uses the parade route for some of it. So I didn't want to drive since who knows what parking is like. Not used to being here with all the tourists though.20190727_151240.jpg20190727_151055_HDR.jpg20190727_151214_HDR.jpg

Yeah we won’t be going back to Busch gardens. We only stayed for 4 hours and were ready to go. Many things had over an hour wait. We paid $45 for a qs lunch only to be attacked by birds the entire time because the two tables around us decided to feed them. We’re heading to Orlando right now and going to seaworld tomorrow. I sure hope that goes better than today did. I know we get the quick que from the hotel we booked so that should help.
At the risk of sounding like a snob (and I SWEAR I’m not lol), Disney can make it difficult to visit other parks! While Disney isn’t perfect, there are things that definitely set it apart from others! I learned recently that there is a big difference between theme parks and amusement parks.

TSA precheck question. They're having a pop up near us Aug 5 to 9 and I'd like to send ILs... do we fill out the form online and pay that way, then they go for an appt at the pop up place? Or can you do everything at the pop up place? They dont have cards that will cover the fee but we do. The pop up would be much preferable to the airport :)

ETA. Can j make appts before they fill out the application? It seems like I can...
Have to pay in person I haven’t found a way to do it ahead of time. They also checked that the card and name matched so I couldn’t just send my card with them.

Did you already have to park at DCA? I am flying out of there early Wed morning and am at a total loss for the parking. And given that I am going to have get up at 2 am to get the airport, parking is the last thing I want to worry about. Onsite economy is $68 and Terminal A parking is $100 for 4 days.
We go in Dec. that was the only one that offered a free shuttle in time for a 6 am flight. Many of them said shuttles start early but when I called the actual hotels only one really started early enough. We have to leave home by 1am to get to the hotel by 345am so we are at the bus stop by 420 since I know it’s going to take time to get everything out and situated. If swa changes the prices I might try to do the 8 am flight we will see.

Thank you for this! We found the info just now in the fine print on the Amex app - I looked for it when I read your post. It lists hours and says PP cards won't get you in except during those slots. Do you know if they kick people out at 6:30.

We were in that lounge last summer, up until around 8pm, and it did start out empty and then get quite full, but we were flying AF and didn't use our PP to enter so I didn't notice any of this.

The PP app says cardmember will be “admitted” inside those hours. So I don’t think they’ll kick people out. No personal knowledge though!

I am now hopelessly behind, lol.

Saw the ABD group as we were leaving the Blue Lagoon today.

Here’s my favorite photo from yesterday. We climbed Katla Volcano to see the ice cave. It was a lot harder than I thought! The guide said it’s because the rain washed out some of the steps. He carried DD7 through a couple of the hardest parts.

There goes the sideways photo again...

You are 100% right and don’t worry about sounding like a snob. I didn’t want to be rude but the demographic of the people at Busch gardens was a BIG difference. We felt like we were at a carnival instead of a theme park. There was lots of smoking (outside of the park) and line cutting. People were vaping in line for rides.

to add to @Lain
I asked this question once in another group. I figured out a hyatt globalist scheme that involves AU. ppl say that chase really see this as if you are selling your UR points and can possibly shut you down for it. If you were to continue to do this, add her, leave her as AU, don’t add anyone else so it doesn’t look like ur selling URs...

I’d avoid it unless absolutely necessary.

Ack. If you think it's risky I guess I won't be getting to Globalist with a trick...

About URs though - we met a good chunk of DD's CIP spend and she was planning on sending some of those SUB points our way when she finishes the spend. Would that look bad? Same last name and same address. We could really use those URs.

Thanks! She'll try it if she gets there in time, and if she can't use it I suppose she will survive, sitting at the gate, like a peasant.

Thank you for sharing a couple of your amazing Iceland photos. DH and I have been wanting to go back, and I have to say your pics helped me realize that we really need to go there and see more of the place. Are you going to post more about what you did when you are back? I'd love to hear and see more. We have done the Golden Circle, the Blue Lagoon, and walked around Reykjavik, but I know there's so much more to see and do!

Lovely! How's the rest of the hotel/resort? I can't remember where you ended up staying ( ... where is that spreadsheet ...)

We are at the Wyndham Deerfield beach. It has excellent beach access- pretty much out the door and toes in sand.

The rooms were redone this past December and are really nicely updated. We have a ‘stay well’ room so it’s very clean smelling and bed is very comfy. The pool area is too small and will be redone this fall but the space just isn’t there to do much different so guessing that won’t change a lot. I prefer more of a ‘resort style’ pool but the focus here is definitely on the beach.

Restaurants have been pretty good. We had JB’s on the beach tonight. Very good food!! We’d received several rec’s for it, including from @calypso726, and they weren’t wrong. It was delish. We ate at Burger Craze last night and it was pretty tasty and very reasonably priced. My huge Cobb salad was like $9! Both restaurants, as well as many others, are within walking distance of the hotel.

The staff at this hotel are amazing! From parking attendant to front desk to housekeeping, they are so nice and accommodating.

ETA: the ocean here is pretty calm so not a place for someone who likes to surf. Tons of stand up paddle boarding though!

I’m pretty sure what @Albort is talking about is different than the corporate challenge that gets you trial Explorist status that you can match and extend to 2021. He’s talking about a Chase shutdown, whereas this trick doesn’t involve Chase at all.

I wouldn’t worry about DD sending URs your way via same household transfer. As you said, she is related, has the same last name and address. I’m pretty sure that’s what @wendow is doing with her DD’s cards. What @Albort is referencing is behavior that makes it seem like you’re selling UR points. And how something like that is done is either adding someone who is obviously not related to you to the same household address, and/or adding such people to your cards as a AUs so that you can transfer your points to them in exchange for cash. That’s a big no-no.

We were at Six Flags today. We get there at opening, which kills me because it’s 10 am :scared: The line to get in was kind of long but the ride lines were great at first but the lines for everything else were terrible. Line at guest services to upgrade DSs tickets was 30 min, line for an Icee 15 min. Can’t bring food in, so ate in the parking lot, 15 min to get back in. Their food is at least as expensive as Disney and not as much selection. Lots of chicken strips and nachos. One day ticket: $47.99 pp plus $30 parking. Season pass 54.99 and includes parking. Bleh.
I can't believe it's been 42 minutes since the last post. You guys really slow down on weekends!

I work nights and by the time I get up in the "morning" (about 3 in the afternoon for me), I am consistently 10-15 pages behind!
I work days and can’t keep up some days. By the time I get home at 3 or 4 things are rolling Lol

Gotcha. We have a 6:40 am flight and I ancient about 2 hours from DCA. Debating whether just to spend the night at my friend’s house rather meeting at her house to complete the drive but I hate to leave DS sooner than I need to.

Yeah that’s hard. If we could stay closer we would but driving is cheaper than getting a hotel for a few hours

As we approach the end of the month, this is for those of you still with Amex Uber credits to use up:
https://viewfromthewing.boardingare...uber-eats-use-up-to-3-times-through-august-1/

I forgot to add that it seems Uber Eats has been rolling out a “Pickup” option. Participation might vary by locality and how many restaurants they’ve signed up near you. I haven’t tried it personally, so I don’t know what if any fees they charge for this, but GrubHub by comparison doesn’t charge fees for pickup. Might be worth looking into if you want to avoid fees.

ETA: I just played around with the Pickup options and there’s a good number of restaurants nearby. No service or delivery fees that I could see in my cart.

DoC has a running list of Uber Eats promo codes (limit 1 per order):

You were in my neck of the woods today. As close as we live to six flags, we tried to go as little as possible. We did have season passes when the kids were young. Used them in May and June and then not again until the fall.
