P2 recently applied for CIP2 and got the 7-10 day message. Got letter in the mail today stating needing additional documents -
Proof of legal name for business - what would you recommend is sent for said "business"
Proof of physical address for business - utility bill, this is not a problem

Need suggestions for proof of legal name of "business"

Did P2 apply using first and last name only as the business name ? If so send a copy of their drivers license

No, MS is when you buy a VGC with your credit card to generate spend (towards MSR in your case), then use those VGCs to buy money orders or load onto Serve at places like
family $
and
$ general
, then you'd deposit to your bank (you might want to have a bank account that's friendly to money order deposits) and use the money to pay off your credit card bill.

Or you could look into bank funding, basically some banks allow you to use a credit card to fund a new account.
Memory Bank
will let you use a credit card to fund a new account up to $1k, and
Great Southern Bank
lets you fund multiple accounts up to $5k. You want to be sure the funding counts as a purchase, not a cash advance that won't count towards your MSR. I'm not familiar with how long you need to leave your funds in the new accounts, but others here have successfully knocked out MSRs entirely with bank funding.

OMG I think I fainted after reading all that. Off to research "Serve"...

Hello!! DH and I have just booked JAL flights over the last two weeks using AA miles. We are flying first class JFK-NRT. Booking was extremely easy as you can now book JAL award flights on AA online, so you don’t even have to call in and talk to anyone anymore!

It is 80k AA miles per person ONE WAY to Japan, so 320k miles total for both of us to fly first class round trip. What I did was get both of us a Barclays AA Biz card and two Citi AA Biz cards each over the last year. Between the SUBs for these and the occasional AA flights for DH, I was able to accumulate 200k AA miles in DH’s account and 160k miles in my AA account. When it came time to book our flight, I logged into DH’s account to book both of our tickets from JFK to NRT for 160k miles total, leaving him with 40k Miles leftover. I then booked the return flight on my account for both of us for 160k miles, leaving me with 10k miles left.

I stressed a lot over this but honestly it ended up being a very easy process. The hardest thing is finding that availability if you want to fly first or business. If you’re on with premium economy, which is actually really nice on their planes, then you’ll have a ton of availability!

Well, that is encouraging (that it's relatively easy to book). I would LOVE to do business class (although I admit- I never in a million years would have considered such a thing before meeting all of you...) but I am not sure now about being able to accumulate the miles/points for it.

From everything I am skimming here, I am not sure I want to deal with the Barclay card so we would be working strictly with the CitiAA and it might just be me and my lonesome, since my husband hasn't even applied for anything just yet.

I know, I watched some of them 😀 They just weren't as good to me because they were dealing with the same issues but it wasn't as "shocking" because it's stuff lots of other shows had covered at that point. In the late 80s early 90s they were dealong weekly with stuff you'd only see on after school specials like drugs, od, suicide, realistic teen pregnancy etc.
I suggest you don’t try watching the newest ones on Netflix lol

Why? I've seen enough off it off Noggin when it first came out and am familiar with how much worse it got, imo, after that. I learned early on it wasn't worth it but had watched it for those that came back as parents/teachers. And I think I saw the one that had Jay and Silent Bob in it cause it's Jay and Silent Bob. I think I gave up sometime in season 2 or 3 when some of the original to that series kids either started leaving or getting way more annoying.

The new seasons of degrassi suck pretty bad. It’s mainly the fact that the issues changed and I don’t feel like they’re as intense as they used to be. I liked the older version because it was so intense and serious. The newer one seems more like “omg she took my spot on the cheerleading squad”.

So this isn’t a huge deal but I applied at one of my local libraries and got an interview! It would only be 20 hours a week and not great pay but I’ve always wanted to work at a library. I slightly feel like my degree would be wasted by taking this job but we should be doing something we really enjoy right? I absolutely love going to the library and oddly enough have wanted to work at one since I was little. It would be nice if I could somehow help in the children’s department

I’m really thinking of having one of us apply for the Amex Hilton Biz offer. We both just got new Amex cards last month but I’ve read you can do 2 business in 90 days?

Also, if you already have 5 Amex credit cards and apply is it an auto denial or can you call in and close one for reconsideration? I feel like I’ve done that in the past.
I have done that more than once, they usually call me within an hour or two of the application and ask if I would like to close one.

I worked for our county library through last year of high school and then all through college (until I quit to go to law school). I loved it. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Both DH and I can apply for our second Citi AA in late August, I think I’ll try a different public offer and do a quick HELOC payment via Plastiq.

I need some new MSR to work on. We hit the $4K on my Amex Delta Gold with vacation spending and only have about $1400 left on DH’s BBP. Half of the $5K MSR on my yet to arrive CIP #2 will be covered with our property taxes via Plastiq. Then there’s DD’s tuition that starts up this month too.

I just applied 2 months ago and had 5 credit cards. When I applied a number came up to call. When I called they said problem is already have 5 cards. I played dumb and said “why yes I can close one.” It worked out because on approval I asked them and they expedited the new one (Delta Gold Biz).

Amex allows you to open 2 (personal or business) credit cards in 90 days.

Denial. But you can call in and they'll tell you that you already have the maximum number of cards they can issue and they'll let you close one to open a new one. (Don't close any cards less than 1 year old.)

Oh, I forgot I only shared in our DVC PM group. I passed ROFR on a 100 point Grand Californian contract a few weeks ago? I paid a ridiculous $199 a point because SO didn’t let me negotiate but it will pay for itself.

Darn you, @speedyfishy! You've put thoughts of DVC in my head! AGAIN!

What am I doing looking at DVC resale listings on a Friday afternoon?! I'm seeing Aulani points selling for less than half at VGC, and if I cashed out my MRs and URs, I guess I could afford a 160-200 point contract and provide a "home" for my family during our annual holiday trips to Hawaii?

Who needs to fly business or first class anyway when I can be relaxing on a lazy river or on the beach?!

✈ or :beach:

I don't know anymore!

DW's grAAvy train just derailed. Applied for her second biz card with a mailer 107 days apart. Denial letter saying the business already has the max number of cards we issue to a business. I called recon and they wouldn't budge and said you can apply within 90 days but they will not approve a second card until 6 months. My mistake may have been not closing the first biz. Bummer.

Check for those Aulani contracts with subsidized dues! They are out there and the lower MF transfers from owner to owner.

Do it!! Don’t you go to Hawaii every year anyway?
