You guys are going crazy with this Christmas in July stuff lol
I call being the squirt gun!!!I want to be the choochoo with square wheels!!
I look at them as my fallback stash and not aspirational. If we want to do a quick weekend to Cedar Point - boom 25k points gets me a night. We did our Hershey trip, used 60k for that. We might do a trip to Busch Gardens and Williamsburg next year, they'll work for that. Also, if a wedding or kids tournament comes up that requires a night, boom there we go! Next year on our way to Myrtle Beach we'll find something in the 15k range for a quick stopover.I’m at 815k. And that’s after I did (3) 7 night Flight and hotel packages last year. Unfortunately, that’s as high as it’ll ever be again because even staying at a Marriott for cash (work), I usually put it on a CSR as I value 3 UR > 6 Bonvoy. But it’s kind of a wash, which is ridiculous for a hotel card at the chain the hotel is. Whereas Hyatt @ 4x or Hilton Aspire at 16x is the clear choice while staying at those. RIP SPG cards
Bonvoy points are one of the few currencies I would actually consider not burning, only because they are so much harder to get than other currencies and I don’t believe it will be devalued further for a while. Then again... Marriott seems to have no limit when it comes to screwing their members, so maybe just burn them as quick as you can.
I can totally see that for some reason... (based on your internet personality).I call being the squirt gun!!!
Now that you say that about the letter, that sounds vaguely familiar. I checked my bank account file and I'm not seeing it but it might be in the pile of "stuff to file" I've been slacking on. I opened BoA and Santander within days of each other so I couldn't be sure which sent me confirmation of the bonus, but one (or both) did. Good point!Just to verify yes, for both DW and I last year I pulled the money out of our BoA accounts as soon as the bonus posted and closed them once the transactions cleared. There are no terms about length of time or anything like that.
BoA mails a letter on account opening and that letter will have the information about the bonus. If you don't get the letter or the bonus isn't there, call them.
Same for hubby. If it's just splitting off a portion of the check that seems to need no time at all. He's submitted small stuff like that when I'd have thought it was "late" and surprise! All processed for Friday. If it's a bigger change like sending all or majority of the check to a newly added account, that's been hit or miss if it needs a pay cycle to process. When he setup Citizens, I think he sent the full pay check since we had to make a single 2k DD and something about that needed a pay cycle to process. No problem since we only needed to do it once, but we try to plan assuming one lost pay cycle just in case.Thank you! I am going to apply this afternoon. I already screenshotted the offer details. I will be thorough and do the same with the application and promo code!
I was honestly shocked how fast my DD changed for Chase. I did it online Monday, payroll ran Tuesday, and the DD cleared Friday! Hoping this one is just as fast!

He squirts jelly. Nough saidI can totally see that for some reason... (based on your internet personality).
Funny, I was going to ask about the stats on churners with kids.Ya- it was around 85% male. And another big difference between here and there; only 21% have kids.
Ethnicities were interesting: Whites and Asians especially were over represented at 67.7% and 18.3%, respectfully.
Here is the raw data if you care:

I always use CSP since it covers the insurance - (decline insurance from Enterprise - or wherever you rent from)
(I also always use autoslashDOTcom for rental cars.)
CSP has primary coverage. You don't need to buy insurance.
Thank you!CSP. You get 2xUR and primary car rental insurance.
Just catching up and didn’t see a response to this (if there was I missed it). It might not be what you meant but you won’t be able to pay for a mortgage with the CSR through Plastiq. If you plan on using Plastiq you need to use a MasterCard or a Discover (not Visa).
You're experience is horrifying and yet it's the only one I have ever heard remotely like this. I'm sticking to my recommendation Chase is very friendly to "businesses" but you definitely need a new bank. Have you hit them up on Twitter? I would make it public and go with "@ChaseSupport I had a payment stopped on a check and when I called Chase the rep called me "stupid" & their manager then told me I "don't have enough money in the account for Chase to care about my business" it was utterly humiliating". Although it may not even be worth the effort of that considering there is no way you're sticking with them!
Sounds like you have legit business, have you looked into Wells Fargo? They don't currently have it running but sometimes they do a $500 bonus which is especially juicy if you have a pre-approval pop up for their $500 for $5k spend on their business credit card during the checking application. Also, their minimum balance is only $500 vs Chase at $1500. WF is iffy for "businesses" but if you have a legit biz call up your local branch, tell them you want to open a biz checking account and ask what documents you need to bring before you go.
CIP now and then refer yourself for another in 3 months if that’s still a thing. Fastest way I see to get you URs. But make sure to drop those Chase CLs.
I thought about setting up a tree for the month but time flew. My favorite holiday for sure! You guys are going crazy with this Christmas in July stuff lol
I book through autoslash - put DH down as primary driver and use my CSP at the counter to pay. But I believe most car rental agencies allow you to add a spouse at no extra charge.Thank you!
Just double checking. If we use my CSP but DH is driving (we would get the rental so we can both drive) he/it/we will still be covered?

I cannot remember the last time I rented a car, but we are renting one for our inventory search to San Diego this weekend and I ended up going through Costco! I could get a (very slightly) larger car plus a free second driver for about the same cost as a smaller car. I guess a second driver usually costs more? My husband usually drives but it is nice to have options!I like to go through Costco for this reason. Free second driver and they always have competitive rates.
Ah no... didn't forget... I'm just recovering from the fangirl swoon shock and weighing the gravity of the honor and dutyHey...are you ignoring my PM![]()
Hmm good point! I looked back and only did $100 DD for Chase since it didn't specify an amount. Best to assume the worst and needing more time for it to clear than to be stuck in an awkward situation. Thank you for the heads up!Same for hubby.
