So, just wanted to post this DP for anyone like us who has to add dc to your AA bookings (and get your MDX number and add a room request...). I've finally gotten it all accomplished but I had a heck of a time. To recap: We have two rooms booked for 4 nights at POR and 5 nights at Swan, all using AA miles. None of the numbers sent to us on the AA confirmation worked in the MDX system.

I called Disney, since @speedyfishy had good luck getting the CM to look her reservation up by their name. No such luck in our case. The CM was adamant that she 'couldn't touch' the reservation since it went through a third party booking agent. She couldn't give me the MDX number. So, I called AA Vacations. The agent was friendly but didn't understand why the numbers I had weren't sufficient. I explained again how the Disney system works and how you need a special number to have your reservation show up in their system. She said she needed to talk to a supervisor and put me on hold. Comes back a few mins later and says, "please explain again why you need this number...". Explained again and she asked me to hold again. I think she basically had to go convince the supervisor that I legitimately needed this. She came back and told me she was going to call 'the hotel I booked with' and it could be awhile and to please hold. About 10 mins later she came back with the MDX numbers for POR. Yay!!! But now I still needed to add a child to each room. AA wanted to charge me additional money/miles to do so even after explaining that Disney doesn't charge for kids. So, I hung up and called Disney back. Thinking now that I have the MDX number, I'll be good...Unfortunately, I get the CM who woke up on the unmagical side of the bed, she proceeds to tell me that she cannot add anyone to the room since it's a third party booking and I need to call AA back and have them do it. I explain they want to charge me. She says, "then you will need to cancel your reservation with them and rebook with Disney" in a very snarky way  While I know she probably cannot add anyone, just the way she said it was so rude. So, I went and found my old notebook from two years ago when we booked Disney rooms with UR's (sigh, good times...) and found the Disney Wholesale number. I called and spoke to Leroy. Awesome Leroy! He took care of everything for me...added the kids, made sure my connecting room request was in the system...and told me if I needed anything else, to call them back.

I wish I had remembered just to call Disney wholesale from the get-go. We should consider putting their number on DISchurners somewhere. Leroy asked me how I got the number. I told him I had it from a couple years ago when I booked through cc points and had trouble getting our MDX number then. He said consumers aren't really supposed to be using it, and I apologized, and he immediately said it was fine that I did and reiterated that I could call if I needed help again.

Getting everything from Swan was the easiest thing ever...one call to a super friendly gal gave me my MDX numbers, added the kids, room request confirmed and even added our Bonblah numbers since we are eligible for a maybe upgrade.

Ugh, that’s so annoying. Ik it can be done because I just spoke to a regular cast member and the person didn’t even give me a hard time. I linked my boardwalk reservation and my Grand Floridian reservation.

Current list of AA Business CC Offers:

There are 4 Citi AA Business offers that I know of right now:
Barclays also has one:
I can no longer find a Citi link with the $250 Stmt Credit (RIP the add'l $50)... I also can't find a Citi 75k / $5k link right now. Am I missing any links that anybody is aware of?

FYI: 75k / $5k is still available via Citi Mailer if you can get you hands on one of those.

Also worth noting that there are still VERY mixed DPs on using a public offer for Citi Biz # 2 and beyond. You might get your points...you might not...

Just figured I'd share this info here since I was updating some information while answering a PM.
So dh and I both have the 75k/$5K biz mailers w July 31 expirations. What are the odds of us ever receiving biz mailers if we don't use them?

These are physical mailers, right? (Not email codes)

I think if you use his and he uses yours you might continue to get biz mailers as long as you don't use the one that was addressed to you.

I hope someone out there is enjoying their Grubhub on my Amex :rolleyes2 I'm glad I've already used my $10 monthly credit. Now I have wait for it to go pending so I can dispute it and watch for more charges.

It was used for gas at 7eleven in early May. I bet a skimmer got it even though I looked that pump over before inserting the card.

Replying to myself- so I've been waiting for this charge to post so I can dispute it. Today it totally disappeared. It's not posted and it's not pending. I don't recall Amex charges "disappearing" before posting, I know that's a CIP thing. I don't know what's going on now :confused3

status matching is a must... having Diamond at caesars properties will help a lot!

The family seems to be learning towards M Life properties or the Palazzo. Ideas?

ETA: Started HH Gold to Wyndham in order to match to Casears Diamond and hopefully M life Gold.

Huge fan of Vegas and usually go 3-4 times a year. Never stayed at Palazzo, but Bellagio is very nice. Not sure what you’re looking for in terms of must dos, but there is plenty no matter what you’re into. Here are some of my favorites:

Headline show - Absinthe at Caesars, although you need to be aware it is raunchy and you shouldn’t go if easily offended. Very funny acrobatic show.

Nonheadline show - Mark Savard comedian hypnosis at mall by Planet Hollywood. Seen multiple times and different everytime because of how people react. 80% of it is pretty clean and then it goes R rated in a hurry for the last little bit.

Buffet - Bellagio. They have crab legs already cracked and peeled. And their desserts!

Burger - Holsteins at Cosmopolitan. Definitely big enough to split and be sure to order a shake.

Steak - Prime at Bellagio. This was really good, but can’t compare to many others, as we don’t usually eat at steakhouses.

Sushi - Umiya is an offstrip all you can eat for around $35. Always get my money’s worth.

Italian - Rao’s at Caesars. Order the meatballs as an appetizer.

Hole in the wall dining - Haute Doggery is a hot dog stand right by the LINQ. All sorts of different hot dogs. My favorite is the macaroni and cheese with bacon.

Nightlife isn’t my thing, so can’t make any recommendations from personal experience, but Club Drais at Cromwell is always packed. I like to play craps there because they have 100x odds, and there will be a line of people to get in the club.

Bottom line is there is something to do for everyone. I like to gamble and eat well, so it’s right up my alley. But the people watching can be entertaining also!

Thanks!! Food is a big one for us, so jotting these down :D

I’d add that if you’re looking at the Bellagio or Palazzo, consider booking them through Amex’s Fine Hotels & Resorts. @Ngwira and @calypso726 both have had luck getting some great deals through FHR, where the additional benefits more than justified the cash cost.

And since you have a Platinum/Business Platinum card, Amex FHR is now bookable with MR points at 1 cpp:

Loving the addition of the caution signs LOL.

@Ngwira I lost your quote, but thank you for the suggestions and ideas! I definitely forgot about Chase luxury.

For some reason, the weekend we are planning to go (9/21-9/24), the cash rates ($320+) seem quite a bit higher than usual or relative to surrounding weekends. Any ideas as to why?

wow. I'm going to try again on a different device too. I have no idea whats going on but I'm so happy that they're still there.... can you tell me the points cost on Cabana Bay for 11-18? if not no big deal just curious what it's showing
ETA (#$%*!!!+<#@!!!) I rechecked... my featured hotels are a few crap properties on Idrive- when I try to filter by name, it auto fills whatever UNI onsite hotel I'm looking for,but then I get the red bar with 'no results' I'm beyond frustrated right now. UGH no variation on any searches are working. I had wondered if CIP search vs CSR search made a difference....

I am having the same issue...no matter what dates I put in the same 68 hotels show up...

Holy cow that's a lot of poor communication. I do hope your BIL is getting better. I need to get serious about getting a shingles vaccine -- I just turned 50 and had the chicken pox so I think I am the prime demographic to get it. Your BIL seem like he would be kind of young to be getting shingles.
Yes, he is 36-37. Way too young. Too much stress, they told him. And we could tell he was super stressed and has been for a long time. I know a lot of it is money, has been for the last 2 years almost. They must be like a bucket with a million leaks they don't realize because they make good money and have minimal living expenses (housing is just cable/internet, everything else is covered) but never have any money... plus spent a ton on their wedding, then SIL got a brand new SUV last summer/fall (starting MSRP $60k :faint: ) because someone hit her and totaled her Accord... in early 2018, but she wanted a 2019 and waited until they came out so they often rented cars to get by, plus every time to drive to their wedding location for the event andd planning about 2hrs from home. They have also spent a lot on their diabetic cat in the last year between the wedding and their honeymoon (and our wedding, actually). Each time they have had an aunt of SIL watch the cat (plus the other cat) but this lady cannot give the insulin shots reliably - if the cat hides, she just doesn't do it. So they get back and the cat is crashing and has to go in and they incur large vet bills. This personally drives me CRAZY because it's like, board the cat. Get a real pet sitter. Arrange something with your vet that they can bring the cat in and a tech will give the shots (we did this all the time at the clinic I worked at, for $10 a shot or something, they just had to bring their own insulin). BUT DO SOMETHING, THIS IS NOT WORKING. And it's just so unfair to the cat because that's not good for it's health to put it through that!

Ok, written like that they don't sound like they have a million leaks in their budget. But they are the type to always be like, wow we don't know where all the money went at the end of the month.

I am super terrified of people with shingles and chicken pox as I never had it growing up. I got the chicken pox vaccine as a kid.

The SUB for DH's Aspire posted!!!

I can hardly believe my eyes.

Super weird DP. He got the pop-up the first attempt. Took the upgrade offer on his BCE to BCP and put <$200 spend on the Bonbon Biz. Next day, tried again, was curious if taking the upgrade offer helps. For sake of science, lol. It was late night. No pop-up and got the we'll let you know message. Which has never happened before (always instant approval), and the app doesn't show up when I check application status online. 2 days later, I try again, pop-up. 9 days later from the we'll let you know app, get e-mail that he's approved!

I've been putting spend on his cards to get rid of the pop-up. His Hilton Biz was only 2 statements past meeting MSR, I had $20 on each. It now has $1000 spend on it. The Bonbon Biz, only 1 statement past MSR, I had $30 on it. Now it has $600 spend. The BCP upgrade I'm close to meeting MSR at $800. His Rose Gold is his everyday card (I tell him to use it for restaurants, but he ends up using it for everything that takes Amex...). It gets at least several hundred spend every month.

So theories - maybe the pop-up glitched out and didn't get attached to the app. I also keep wondering if they do another check before awarding the SUB. That would explain the no pop-up bonus denials (haven't seen DPs of this recently though?). Also keep thinking of the reddit DP of the guy who got the Plum card, got pop-up but applied anyways, put $30k spend on it and still got the SUB.

The majority of the Aspire MSR is from a refundable hotel (since I wasn't sure if I'd actually get the SUB and didn't want to "waste" spend). Then I put a smaller charge that actually met MSR. Plan to remeet spend before I cancel the hotel.

I think we're about the same age and I also got the chicken pox vaccine as a kid. Never had the chicken pox. I think we're supposed to be pretty well covered, as I actually looked this up not too long ago when talking with some coworkers about it. I've been exposed to a couple people with shingles and never had any problems.

Anybody want to have some fun with me stirring up r/churning with the purge?? I'm looking to start a little band of people to report all these useless threads! Let me know if you want in, I need 5 people I think to achieve this. I'll take the little group to a PM then so we don't clog up our fun thread here.

The problem for me is any other kind of exercise is boring to me besides running. I like playing sports but it’s not like I can do that every day. I’ve tried walking, elliptical, and the bike and they’re all so boring
I get what you mean. I read on the bike and have started listening to audio books on the elliptical because I get bored, music doesn't do it for me. Plus I like a lot of older country music and will find myself going slowly to whatever song tempo :rotfl: I was never a running fan but I really hated doing it in the gym or an indoor track vs at least being outside. I enjoy dog walking lol.
