I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

We have 2 CSR and use the $300 credit each every year. I’ve toyed with the idea of downgrading my husbands card because I do most of the travel planning and spending but the car rental keeps tripping me up. As far as I can tell, the credit card has to match the driver or otherwise I have to add a second driver at a cost. He drives on vacation always (I can’t drive stick) so it’s kept me from downgrading him. Am I missing something?
Is it Europe where you would rent a stick shift? We only rent in the US so never have an option and we don't ever rent "fun" cars either. I always use Costco for the free second driver, but I just found out Costco rentals aren't always an option. In our upcoming rental on Kodiak I will have to either add myself as an additional driver (which I won't ever drive) or take out the car rental insurance. Since its only a 24 hour rental I guess it won't break the bank either way!

With all this data and information Disney tracks, why can't it figure out e-mails and mailing addresses for passholders?!

I really like how Disney has branched out to other characters. The only one I wasn't able to get was Figment during Festival of the Arts. I got one on eBay.
Especially since there are 4 passholders in our house now and 0/4 on orange magnets.

How long ago did you activate them? Weren't they upgrades from your most recent trip?

They may still be coming!

I never got one cause I got a band at the place in liberty square. Didn't care if it was personalized and now I upgraded to a stitch band so will prob never use that blue band.

So Hyatt comes through again. Our room was ready at 11am despite having a sold out hotel last night. They upgraded us to the 18th floor double queen room even though I booked a double bed room with points.

Most importantly, they gave my husband a chocolate birthday cake along with free drinks since I told them we are celebrating his birthday. Hyatt rocks!

At first glace this looks like a pretty good deal, at least for one year. If you would use the TSA precheck or global entry, that's a $99 AF for 80,000 miles. I was hoping current Business card holders would be eligible, oh, well! Will make it much easier to get the CP.

The 24-month restriction on bonus eligibility is product specific.

Earn 80,000 Points: This new Cardmember bonus offer is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of this business credit card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of this business credit card who received a new Cardmember bonus for this business credit card within the last 24 months.

You're not eligible for the bonus if you currently have the Performance biz, or you previously had the Performance Biz and received a SUB for the Performance Biz in the last 24 months.

If you only have the Premier Biz, you're eligible for the SUB on the Performance Biz.

You don't need a mailer if it's your first time getting the Citi AA Biz. A mailer is to get around the 24 month restriction on getting the SUB.

The e-mail offer you got, is it for a personal or biz card? And does it have a 9 or 12 digit code?

There's also the Barclays Aviator Biz. That's 75k AA miles for $1000 spend and 1 purchase on an employee card. $95 AF not waived.
The email offer is for a personal card, best I can tell. 'Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World EliteTM Mastercard®'. And the email has a 9-digit code (which I didn't even realize until you asked).

So I am thinking the business card that I referred to is the best way to go at the moment.

(I bet I've tossed multiple mailers from CitiBank over the last couple years... guess i'll have to start paying attention to them now)

Warning: Random strategy discussion to follow:

Boy this new SW card has thrown me for a bit of a loop. I really want to keep drinking from the cup while that loophole is open. BUT, I have a SW CP that expires on 12/31/19. AND I've earned 29k SW points this year so this ONE biz card and it's 85k points would earn me a CP for 2020... I don't have to decide now, but to ensure the points posted before the end of the year I probably need to make this move in the next 3-4 months. CIP2 for me is scheduled for August and if I pull the trigger on that, I'd probably want to wait until November to apply for another Chase biz card. That would be too late IMO to try this because I don't want to cut it too close and miss out.

Ok but then...what if I timed this for a 2020/2021 CP? Maybe self-support comes to this card. I could get 10k from self-support, 80k from the bonus, and 5k from the base. Now I'm just 15k away from a CP... I could upgrade my personal to a priority and do an advance on my 7,500 anniv points via a refundable SW fare...I could also do an advance on my 9k anniv points on the biz card again via a refundable SW fare...boom I have a 2020/2021 CP.

Hmmmmm...I have a lot to think about here. And this still comes back to, do I prefer having the CP over just drinking from the cup until it flips over.
Yes, a lot to think about. I have a while since I just got CIP2. But if it is possible for current Biz cardholders who have received a bonus in the past 24 months to get this new one, I think I'd skip CIP and get this. We currently have CP for DH and myself and I am totally loving it. If I have the chance to get one for 2020/2021 I would be all over it! This is definitely is exciting news!!

Thanks, I see that now. :woohoo: That's a pretty sweet deal, if this does make it to the cross referrals, you'd be at 95,000 from just one card. Close to CIPpy cup numbers..but when you factor in CP, it could be an even better deal!

out of curiosity, what status do u have with hyatt? also what hyatt is it?

Yes, that's a personal card. With the 9 digit code -maybe- it gets around the 24 months restriction. I'm not well versed about that. BUT you don't want to get on the grAAvy train with personal cards anyways. That's usually for people who are lol/24 and not looking back. 🤣

So, good plan sticking to the biz card. :) The 70k for $4000 spend offer is good. There's also a 75k for $5000, but probably not worth an extra $1000 spend for 5k miles.

Did you need one?
Do you have extras? I would love one! I don't have them on the car because I hear they get stolen, but I hang them on the peg board in my craft room. :)

ETA: PolyRob thinks they might just not have come yet. I've given up on myself and DD, but maybe they will come for the boys.

How long ago did you activate them? Weren't they upgrades from your most recent trip?

DD and myself activated in Jan but the boys were just late May.

ETA: This is my internal debate about stashing 2 sams AP certs for myself and DD to use when ours expire. Boys will still have theirs til late May 2020 and ours expire late Jan.

Ahh. May I could see. Jan should have been sent by now tho :(

I like your plan to stash!

Do you know what the new price is for renewal of a plat pass? Wonder if I can do that with discounted GC and come out about the same as stashing. It wasn't in the budget for now, hence why I staggered the renewals on purpose but it is alot of money saved to stash them.

Did you screen-cap your upgrade offer?

I always make it a practice to take a screenshot of applications, upgrades, chats, and secure messages.
Yeah, I usually do, but I seemed to have missed the offer screen on this one. I did just chat/screenshot with a rep to verify that the offer was attached, so fingers crossed.
