I’m going to do this as soon as I get home. If both my husband and I are targeted for the AMEX platinum 100k bonus should I apply for both of us at the same time? We can definitely do the minimum spend within three months.

Yes! If you can make the spend, 100k MR is as good as it gets for the Amex Platinum.

The Amex Platinum does come with a hefty $550 annual fee (that doesn't count towards the $5k MSR), but you can pretty easily extract more than $500 in value from the various benefits.

- $200 airline fee credit every calendar year, so can be double dipped this year and again starting January 1, 2020. Usable to buy gift cards with Southwest or Delta (and maybe AA?), or for luggage fees and other incidentals.

- $50 credit to Saks Fifth Avenue twice a year, from 1/1-6/30, resets again 7/1-12/31, and you get it again next 1/1.

- $200 in Uber credits, divvied up $15 every month and $35 in December.

- Global Entry/TSA Precheck credit up to $100 per card.

- Access for the cardmember and 2 guests to Amex's Centurion Lounge and Escape Lounge, Priority Pass membership to lounges in that network.

- Complimentary Gold status at Hilton and Marriott hotels.

Thanks. The whole eBay fees plus PayPal fees irks me for some reason. And sadly I don't have a CIP, but hopefully in November! I actually can't have a PayPal balance because I refuse to give them my SSN -- years ago it was because they kept getting hacked but now it's just stubbornness I think. As far as I can tell, they don't have a good reason for needing my SSN. So now whenever I get money through PP I have to log on and transfer it to my bank.

Thanks for bringing all of this up. DD and I were thinking about trying to sell some stuff on either eBay or Poshmark so I'm trying to learn what I can.

Is it possible to PC CSP to Freedom via SM? I sent a message yesterday and they said I need to call (which means DH needs to call).

Well, if you meet the 1099-K threshold, PayPal needs your SSN to report your transactions to the IRS.

Hubby & I have good credit but want 1 card that we start using for almost everything. Previously, that was our Disney card but I don’t feel like we are getting much back on that....

What is the best cash back card? Or do you refer rewards cards? We don’t really fly
Interested in transferring the debt from our other cards over and paying just 1 bill.

it can vary on what your biggest categories are. would suggest a 2% card like the Citi Double Cash or Fidelity card that earns straight 2% cash back everywhere.
If your more on dining and travel, the uber card could be a nice card earning 4% dining, 3% travel.
if points to use for travel is in mind, then either the CFU/CIU, Amex BBP would work.

1 card...that’s so sad. I can’t live in a world with 1 card 🤣 😂

I am three months past my last Chase application, but I have hit Chase pretty hard this past year so I'm a bit leery to go for CIP2. I was thinking of waiting until after 6/15, but I don't know if it really matters. Or should I wait even longer? I don't have an immediate need for the URs, but also want to get in on CIP2 before it goes away. Here are my stats. Any thoughts? Thanks!

05/18/19 CITI AA Biz
05/17/19 AMEX Hilton Biz
03/02/19 CHASE CIC
12/19/18 CHASE CIP
10/19/18 CHASE SW Plus
09/21/18 CHASE SW Biz
06/15/18 CHASE CSP
Unless there’s a reason to hurry I’d just wait until 6/16 to get past the year mark on that CSP. You’re good to go then.

Just reread your post - there is a recommended manner to list them out? I'll have to find some time to do this. Otherwise I have them as such:

Mefordis cards:
11/17 - CHASE United Personal
11/17 - BARCLAYS JetBlue Personal
11/17 - AMEX SPG Business*
12/17 - CHASE Freedom
12/17 - CHASE Marriott Personal
01/18 - CHASE Sapphire Reserve (AU)
05/18 - AMEX Hilton Business*
08/18 - CHASE Marriott Business*

5/24 with one as an AU card (potentially could remove this and dispute it) and 4 cards falling off in Nov/Dec.

Husband cards:
12/17 - BARCLAYS JetBlue Personal
01/18 - CHASE Sapphire Preferred
01/18 - CHASE Sapphire Reserve
03/18 - AMEX SPG Business*
05/18 - CHASE Marriott Personal
08/18 - CHASE Ink Preferred Business*
11/18 - CHASE United Personal

5/24 with 1 card falling off in Dec and 2 falling off in Jan.

Laid out in the proper format, it is far easier to dish out some good advice. There was unfortunately no consistency to how you showed things before. Unfortunately, I don’t have much advice to give here, I wish we could rewind the clock and not apply for a bunch of these cards and have maintained a better 5/24 status. I’m not saying that to be rude, just an observation to benefit others.
