Ok back to my stupid question from yesterday...that is now sadly relevant today..... I see my flight for this evening is being called delayed by almost two hours already:scared1: so what does this mean?I think I should still be at airport on time for original flight,is this right? just in case they manage to not be so delayed? of course, no notice from SWA on this, I guess we're all supposed to be happily surprised later??? I did do a status check and found the delay on their site..... so what to do? get there at previously planned time just in case, right? (I can see originwas delayed 2 hours out of LAX earlier today which is what screwed up the schedule)

Personally I'm always there for the original flight time. I have no experience with SW but I've seen Alaska/Horizon shift my flight to a different plane causing the delay to go from 2 hours to 40 mins.

OH! My ultimate conclusion on the Seychelles: overrated. Y’all saw my gorgeous sunset pictures- it really had the most beautiful beach sunsets I’ve ever seen. But beyond that Hawaii is better in every aspect. I’ve checked this off my list but won’t return unless some future SO is just dying to go there.

GAH! This has been my ULTIMATE location for years. The beaches just look so perfect. But I guess it's "good" to hear it sucks in some ways. I guess I'll live it up in Hawaii instead some day.

"buckle up it's gonna be a bumpy night".... thanks

Heck maybe I'll YOLO again and put in an app but I see this in my future. Again. "Hi, my name is Gottalovepluto and I'm addicted to Barclays rejections."
Hi, my name is Gottalovepluto and I'm addicted to Barclays rejections.

15/24, opened the card myself 7/2017 and closed 6/2018, no credit hit notification so I think it was a computer denial for recently having had the card.

CIP MSR Question. My statement says purchases total $3,889, but the rewards for every dollar spent says 3,593. My total purchases for the next statement is $1,287, so MSR would be met with the first figure, but not the second. Which number is the one Chase uses? I don’t see any sort of notice that my MSR has been reached, so I have no idea if I have met the MSR or not. How can I tell?
I know I’m late to the game on responding here but just had to say...

How can you tell? By consulting your detailed spreadsheet which adds all posted charges and not relying on Chase at all... :rotfl2: :teacher:

As for DH, between a CIP and CSP+CSR MDD, I'd start him off with a CIP.

The CSP+CSR combo will net you a 60k UR SUB on the CSP and a 50k UR SUB on the CSR (110k UR), but the combined MSRs on these two cards is $8k in the same 3 months period. In addition the MDD requires applying over a two day period, and possibly requiring a call in to get an app approved if it's not insta-approved. So you should consider how comfortable your husband is to calling in for approval, and consider how you'll meet the spend.

Another thing to consider is that a MDD will put you at 2 cards in 1 month, 2 cards in 3 months, so you may want to put off another Chase app for a little longer than 3 months after a MDD to be cautious.

The CIP has a 80k SUB, but a lower $5k MSR, then P2 could support you to a CIP in a few months after your SW Premier. And, if the CIPpy cup is still flowing, then you two could keep supporting each other for more sips.
There was a factor missing here that @disfanforlife relayed to me regarding upcoming tuition payments and this being a good time to hit the $8k MSR though. Just figured I’d add that detail - not sure how big of a factor that was.
How do I find the refer link to share with a friend?

I've tried for the AAviataor Biz 3 times now I think. I thought perhaps after I did a $4500 balance transfer to my personal one they might show me the love. But NOPE! Grrrr.

I know he’s a bit crazy... but apparently aksurvivorfan got shutdown by Chase for misuse of rewards program...

FYI: that is related to this:

Ok - I can't believe this hasn't generated any buzz yet...so I'm going to post some thoughts:

SELF-REFERRAL IS POSSIBLE ON POTENTIALLY ALL CHASE CARDS THAT OFFER SUPPORT LINKS!

You heard me right - when you have any Chase card you now can refer yourself to any other Chase card that offers a support link.

I'm going to try to type more thoughts and instructions on how to do this soon. This is pretty huge news!!
CHASE SELF-SUPPORT AND CROSS-SUPPORT UPDATE!
I've removed the "self-support" thread on DISchurners in light of some new information I discovered today.

I know of MULTIPLE people who have received letters from Chase about misuse of the Ultimate Rewards program related to support links. Interestingly enough, these letters were dated PRIOR to the whole reveal on Monday about this "loophole". One person received 4 letters (one for each of their accounts...including accounts they didn't even get any clicks on). Another reports receiving 3 letters. I'd imagine that this will surface on r/churning at some point but I will not be breaking the news there as I did NOT receive any of these letters (but I'm also not doing any of the activities that I believe caused the letters.) I am sharing here because I think our community would want to understand what the potential risks are here.

The common things between these users (perceived as misuse by Chase) that IMO could potentially have triggered these letters are:
  • Using old links on an expired card to exceed Chase's limit for total support links on a card
  • Altering links to generate a support link for a card you do not currently hold (i.e. what that thread was all about)
  • NOTE: This is definitely not related to any MS activities so no need to be concerned there. One user does not MS at all and received multiple letters.
I know that first comment could concern people here as sometimes we'll advise keeping your link active after you've PCed the card (i.e. like a CSP link for a card that is now a CFU). I personally would ONLY be concerned about this if you are using this method to EXCEED the max number of support points on a card. I don't believe Chase is going after somebody who generates 1 or 2 clicks in this manner.

The letter clearly stated that if they do not stop this misuse of the "support" program that their accounts will be closed. One user I spoke to feels strongly that this is totally about the first bullet comment and not about the item revealed on Monday (my second bullet). However, that same user had already said that they had attempted the altering links method, some did not track, and that they felt the risk was not worth the reward on that any more.

So in light of this information I feel that I cannot in good conscience advocate for generating "self-support" and "cross-support" links to cards you do not currently hold as we discussed Monday. It's clear that Chase is paying attention to people who are abusing their support program. If somebody feels strongly that they want to attempt that, I'll be happy to send them the information but I don't want newer folks stumbling on that thread thinking it's a viable way to earn points. IMO, the risk there is not worth the reward.

In general, I feel this should not be a huge concern to anybody here. I don't believe any of us were engaging in actions like this BUT I want to put all of this out there as a warning (and explain why I took down what may have been viewed previously as valuable information). I would instead recommend that we continue to pay-it-forward by using support links of friends here, and definitely use a spouse support link (or self support) whenever possible with legitimate links on cards you hold.

I will now open the floor up to questions... (LOL, this just feels like I'm making a prepared statement! )

Yeah, I only gave that one 2 shots. Barclays is known to cut churners off after a few cards. Lots of other cards to get!

I went to the American Express site to see if the rose gold was available. I got a pop up offer to get the Amex gold with 50,000 MR bonus.
Now, I’m reading the Rose Gold is only 40,000 MR and I need a referral link?

I know this is silly but I really want the rose gold. Should I just apply and forget I saw the 50,000 for a different color card?
(This might be pointless since my last two Amex apps got a pop up)

That is true! I probably forgot to mention other things too. We will have tuition payments coming up in July and again in December so those are good times for use to meet MSR on new cards.
