Personally I'm always there for the original flight time. I have no experience with SW but I've seen Alaska/Horizon shift my flight to a different plane causing the delay to go from 2 hours to 40 mins.

Agree on showing up as if it's not delayed. I got to SJC on time for my flight only to have Alaska move me to the flight that was about to take off due to my later flight being delayed or something. Thankfully it's a small terminal where thr flight was. They were paging me as I went through security as I'm telling the tsa person that's me let's hurry up. Had to put my belt back on once I got to the plane. Shortest time I've ever been at an airport it was nuts.

I've also gotten to the airport for a redeye that was shown fine when we left for the 7ish mile drive to the airport only to be told it's cancelled and you're rebooked for the morning. Had to have mom come pick me back up.

And, while this won't happen with SW because they don't have bigger planes. Going to MI from SFO in college on united through DEN and the flight to DEN the night before had been canceled and they had a 777 they needed to get to DEN so they put everyone from the 2 flights on that plane and we took off normal. But I got stuck with a middle section seat but it was bulkhead.

You never know what the airline will ultimately decide to do which is why it's always good to show up 2 hours before.

So all you Rose Gold appliers seem to have wrecked the AmEx referral portal.

Was checking links and get an error that the site is down or the generic something is wrong page. Seems like a bumpy day for relaunch.

In other news about the Rose Gold/Gold card, they added Boxed .com to the list of merchants eligible for the $10 a month credit. Have no idea what you could buy for $10 on Boxed but if you use the service already then take your $10 coupon I guess :)

That is true! I probably forgot to mention other things too. We will have tuition payments coming up in July and again in December so those are good times for use to meet MSR on new cards.
Then you could do CIP now and if the CIPpy cup dries up MDD would be there for you in December :)

I remember the Ritz Carlton cards being impressive too. If the personal Plat is anything like the Biz Plat, I think it is just as nice as the RC card. I agree that the CSR lacks that oomph factor! Though anymore, with chip terminals everywhere, since I don't have to hand over my card, I don't get to see the cashier's reaction when I hand over my Biz Plat anymore and that was part of the fun.
I think I've only handed my CSR over at Chipotle once or twice and it made such an awful sound as it was getting swiped through the register.

I went to the American Express site to see if the rose gold was available. I got a pop up offer to get the Amex gold with 50,000 MR bonus.
Now, I’m reading the Rose Gold is only 40,000 MR and I need a referral link?

I know this is silly but I really want the rose gold. Should I just apply and forget I saw the 50,000 for a different color card?
(This might be pointless since my last two Amex apps got a pop up)

You should be able to request the Rose Gold card after getting approved for the Gold. Talk on r/churning of people with Gold cards requesting the new Rose Gold color and they've been told yes. So I'd go with whatever is more important to you. If MR is more important, most likely you can get the color changed later. ( I won't guarantee it, but 99.9% positive. If it's absolutely a deal breaker and worth ~$100 to you, then get the card you really want and ignore the bonus)

So I managed to pull a 100k plat offer on card match by combining my towns 2 names into 1.

But I also want the rose gold. And another cip. I’m 3/24 with no cards falling off until 11/2020.

Ughh decisions.

But seriously? What should I do?

Convince me the plat is worth it? The gold has more useful categories for me. But we have a centurion lounge here in philly, but were a family of 4, so it’s almost not useful.

Woohoo!! party:

Or you can sell the whole package - box, paperwork, wood block for like $35. LOL.

If your plan for the airline credit is to buy gift cards instead of using it for incidentals like it was meant for, I'd do it sooner rather than later. Tagging @PolyRob too. :) Southwest still works, I did the whole $200 at once. I think Delta still works, but maybe only $50 at once and only on desktop? I haven't kept up with that. Flyertalk has a dedicated thread, so I'd check that right before you buy. Although even that is no guarantee. I bought an AA gift card right before it stopped crediting, before it had a chance to be reported. Lucky me, lol. It's a loophole, so nothing to do but suck it up.

Here's the Southwest one:

You'll need to pick an airline first and some people say to wait a day to make sure it's in the system. You're only supposed to change it once a year. But so far, it's been easy to change via chat if you need to.
Thanks for the airline info! My original plan was to pick JetBlue and use it for bags because I wanted to book 6 roundtrip flights on URs and would have selected the basic "blue" fares. Bags would be $30 each so it would have almost used it all up. BUT now that SW has 1 nonstop flight to MCO from my airport, the GC may be the way to go.

HMM decisions 🤔

But the comments also say he was 75/24 which even if not in the letter that no one has seen could also be an issue. How do they close almost all his acct and then approve him for another CIP. I think there's more to it though it all seems shady.
See my other comment - this is related to misuse of rewards program on specific cards. This is most likely related to the whole manipulating support links to exceed the intended max.

This would also support our reasoning for pulling the comments/instructions on Chase self-support to all cards (via link manipulation). Seems like that is definitely something to avoid!

I'm a little bit of an outlier on the PH for DL, but we've gone twice and not gotten PH either time and been very happy with our trip. For first time visitors especially, I think there's plenty to see and do in each park that you really don't need to hop. That being said, the parks are so close together that it's very easy to hop back and forth if you want to.

I consider Maxpass essential. They didn't have it for our first trip but did for our second and I absolutely loved it. I actually wish WDW would get this, and I've always liked the FP+ system (yes, I'm weird). The price tag may sway you not to though, since I think you're a family of 4 if I remember correctly.

I just wanted to second that MaxPass is absolutely amazing....we did Disneyland/DCA last Wednesday and hit just about every major attraction at both parks as well as all the more kiddie rides (for our 2.5 year old son). It is amazing how effective it is. Being able to grab cancelled maxpass in the middle of the day for things like Radiator Springs Racers when they were technically "gone" for the day was amazing.

whoa...mind blown. I think what you said just happened...I looked again, and it seems they swapped the planes out b/c now it shows as on time, and when I click back on 'where is my plane now' it's a different route altogether.... looks like the new plane is coming straight up from BWI- I didn't realize they'd scrap a flight route like that so fast.... we will wait and see I guess... I never really paid attention to this before

Do you have any other Amex cards from which you can generate a support link for yourself?

If not, I’d encourage you to use one of the support links on DISchurners and open that link in an incognito window. The 50k MR offer on the Amex Gold/Rose Gold is usually available via a support click and/or incognito.

FYI: that is related to this:
Pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but using your own CIP #1 referral link for say CIP #2 doesn't fall within this self-referral shutdown category, right?

I know this is a completely different loophole, but just wanted to confirm this one doesn't have eyes on it (at least yet) haha

Correct!! Chase could absolutely crack down on that in the future but that is NOT the issue here. This was manipulation of links and/or numerous rapid PCs of a card to generate links for each Chase card from one card number. People were earning 200k+ URs from just one card this way.

I will again recommend that if it’s possible to recommend from P1 => P2 vs a self refer, That Route is preferable IMO. BUT if your only option is self refer (or in the instance of SW cards if self refer is part of the path to CP) I wouldn’t hesitate to do it. :)

OMFG!! Are you kidding me? Back in April my Hilton Honors acct got hacked and 250k points were drained. They of course gave them back. Well this morning at 5:30am someone went into my Hilton acct and once again changed the email and phone number w/ it. It looks like they tried to take 150k points! When this happened in April I went in and changed my password, but somehow this happened again! HTH do I stop this from happening?
Do you access it on public wifi at all? That could be the culprit.

I understand that and agree it's a big part of the reason. I read all the comments and agree with them that being 75/24 could have also played a role in it.

But that still leaves my question from before, how did he get another CIP when he'd been shutdown. The entire picture isn't there and no one here was doing what he was doing.
