Another little “new DIS” nugget:
Just found a fun new feature since the upgrade - on the thread listing on a forum if you click on the small circle that shows your icon if you have posted in a thread, if you click on it it shows you how many times you have posted in that thread ...

Apparently I’ve made over 2,200 comments in this thread.

Only 608, so I don't talk as much as I thought. Wonder what the old thread count is.

Too bad it doesn't also show how many likes/no reactions we have for the thread. I know like 95% of mine are from here. Well maybe 93%

Ok, trying to catch up (as usual) but popping in for a quick question. I received two notices from Credit Karma (1 today and 1 yesterday) saying I've been added as an authorized user by JPMCB. I shouldn't have any new accounts and shouldn't have been added to any new accounts. Has anyone else received these notices? I noticed Chase changed their name from Chase Bank to JPMCB, could that be what's driving it? I called Chase but the department that can help is of course closed until Tuesday. I'm freaking out a bit, has this happened to anyone else?
I’m a little late in replying but I got the exact same email. So I checked and there isn’t any new authorized user accounts for me on Credit Karma or Experian. So I just deleted the email.

I’m back from NOLA. Those beignets were more like diabetes on a plate. Holy powdered sugar Batman!

Unfortunately finding award availability is best at about 331 days out. If you have a P2 that can participate, I’d advise the Barclay cards since they are the easiest SUB. Then, go for the Citi cards if you still need more points. Sometimes you need to be flexible when it comes to award flights. Keep in mind that the 3 flights you see now may not be available when you have the points in place. You might also try searching nearby airports. I have been known to take a positioning flight to get to a specific airport to catch a specific plane for a specific award flight. This may or may not be worth exploring depending on your circumstances. I’d have no problem taking a $58 flight on Silver Air from FLL to MCO if it meant I would be able to secure an award flight could would save me hundreds or thousands out of pocket t get to my destination. Hope this helps.

Yep, the beignets are great, but only as a once in a while dessert/treat for us. Hope you had some other really delectable meals to round out the experience!
@cajunmommy - Another thing you want to consider about AA award flights. If they have you connect through London and flying BA metal the taxes and fees are huge! It is almost never worth doing unless you are flying first.

Thanks to all of you, I was aware of the BA/LHR taxes & fees, but was willing to rationalize them as more of a discounted fare since we're so limited on options. I wish we had the 11mos notice, but it's rare that we plan so far out. I guess that further confirms I need to seek out more flexible reward options for this immediate trip.

Looks like CIP is going to be my target!

Missed you @calypso726 ! I booked our return flights from the Maldives on the weekend and the research took me quite a while. I had to rule out Ethiad and Emirates because it looked like they were i) not on a program currently or ii) just with One World and when I checked I couldn't find any availability on points anyways.

I ended up booking us back on Qatar (URs) from Male to Doha, then used BA Avios to book DOH-LHR-MIA. Luckily Chase has a 30% bonus promotion currently that helped soften the blow to my UR balance. Of course the cash outlay for LHR was crazy (around $850.00), but not much I could do if I wanted the leg from DOH-LHR on Qatar (the flight from DOH-MIA is a 747 on BA).

I know you booked your flights for your recent trip on points and are considering going back (and I will happily enable you when we go with pics lol!).

I am still about 20 pages behind but am running into all the Hawaii talk! One place we LOVE on Oahu is Kawela Bay. It is very low crowd because its so hidden from the road eventhough it's only a 5ish minute walk through some banyan trees on an awesome trail. I wouldn't say it's the best water (can get a bit choppy and a few rocks in the water to watch out for) it wins for us because you feel like you have the entire lagoon to yourselves. Plus we load of on fruit and fried bananas from across the steet and the fruit stand and eat on that all day. It totally has our heart.

These photos are amazing. I had been expecting our Hawaii trip would be a one and done. I no longer think that.

I TOTALLY thought we would be a one and done with Hawaii. DH and I went for our 10 year anniversary in May of 2017 and we have been back...3 times since then . It does something to a person! In fact the 3 kids between us and our friends are choosing to return to Hawaii as 'their' trip and letting the parents go to WDW without them. We have been letting them pick the family trip and the adults only trip and the 7, 11, and 12 year olds all choose to skip WDW to go to Hawaii instead! Crazy!

Ok fellow scrappers, clearly I keep it all. :rotfl2: I think I should do a nye party themed to 2000 instead of 2020 this year just to use these up. :rotfl:

I think with some careful cropping and strategically placed pictures, you could totally use those. Pst...I still have stickers and paper that is probably 20+ years old. You never know when that safari trip will materialize.:rotfl2:

Kawela Bay added to the list to research. Thank you

Finally using old stuff. One of the sticket sheets had a price tag of $2 on it. Proof there it's old and probably bought in preperation for eventually going to disney not that there was a trip anywhere in the future at that point. Stickers are older than the paper because I started out with the 8 1/2 x 11 before the 12x12 became a thing.

I think lots of us have an embarrassing churner beginner story. I got my first CP by following a bunch of arrows from MMS. .....shame to my household LOL!

I irrationally dislike MMS and their clickbaity article titles. They all sound like spam. "This one COOL vacation TRICK to save you thousands!" I seriously have more angst towards them than TPG which makes no sense.

I got an upgrade offer on my recently downgraded (maybe 6 months ago) BCE. Going BCE to BCP will get me 250$ cash back on 1k spend. Is there any reason not to do this?

It's funny - I know MMS is how I started in this but I absolutely have a lot of angst towards them. One way they are worse than TPG is drawing attention to more fringe loopholes. Even a few years back they were posting things about getting the same BoA card 4 times in a month and stuff like that. They shut down their fair share of loopholes for sure with their lack of discretion...

Seems the issue that gave you problems on the first app was the 2 different SSNs. Now that you know how to fill out the app correctly, you shouldn’t have that problem again.

And I wouldn’t say waiting on a pending CIP app for a day or two (or even four or six) would affect the timing of your CSP app very much. If you apply for another CIP in the next week or so, and say it goes pending for a few days, then you’re into the first days of June at latest. If you’re denied CIP2, apply immediately (or wait a few days, up to you) for CSP from P2’s support link. If you’re approved, you likely can safely apply for the CSP by early August. If P2 is PCing his CSP to a CF/CFU before then, just make sure he copies and pastes his CSP support link somewhere for you to use when you’re ready to apply for the CSP, and P2 should still receive the 15k UR after PCing.

ETA: I should add that DPs say with Chase, you have something like 40 days after the AF posts to the statement to PC and get a full refund of the AF; after that, it’s a prorated refund. So if you’re not comfortable with P2 PCing his CSP before you’ve had a chance to use his support link while it’s still a CSP, P2 can hold off a little while and at worst get docked 1 month’s AF when the prorated refund comes in.

Thanks for this. So if I'm denied it doesn't mean I have to wait 2 months to apply for a different Chase card? For some reason I thought it did.

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed about that. I was sort of on a quest to get my Likes: Posts ratio up to 5x. Interestingly enough, I never encounter anybody elsewhere on the DIS who has the kind of Likes: Posts that we have here. MOST people aren't even at 1:1 yet we have tons of people with way more likes than posts. I think it just goes to show how we are the most awesome group on the DIS :D

In defense of some of the long time posters I know (over on the resorts board), there was no ability to "like" a post until a few years ago, so many of them (and yeah I'll include myself in this one) had something like 5-10K posts without a single "like" and it's tough to catch up at that point. I'm not even at 1 to 1, in fact I'm far from it.

Hello from Versailles! DF & I are at the Waldorf Trianon Palace and it's been amazing. We did a bike ride on the palace grounds, picnic in the gardens, various palace tours, a guided food & wine tour around the city, and last night we had dinner at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant, which was great.

Thanks for the funny post, and also explaining your redemption there. A-mazing!! Enjoy every minute of your trip. Oh, and now the Aspire is something I want. :rotfl: Seriously that is an amazing use of points. #goals

Looks like Citi chat is denying matches with boilerplate language now:

Thanks for sharing this. I'm also looking at a Citi Biz and was thinking that trying for the match was probably not the way to go for me (the risk averse poster).

Hi everyone! SouthFayetteFan threw me a curveball in my search for the best option in trying to maximize my rewards / SUB for an upcoming Dec trip to Italy.
Because we're tied to a specific itinerary on AA, he suggested one of the AA co-branded cards as a possibility. Would one of the Citi or Barclay's cards make sense?
I don't think AA allows a combination of cash + miles on award flights, so that further limits my options.

I managed to get 2 AA seats in first class from SFO > FCO a few years back, using AA points. I had to book a year in advance and also had to stop at JFK (so we added a day there just for fun) and then again at LHR since AA wasn't flying to Rome in March. We had to switch to BA in LHR for the leg to Rome. It wasn't ideal but it worked. Flight home was out of LHR, so easy for me to get a direct. If you can't find what you want exactly, either try to go a day early or look at flights from other US cities.

I have so many papers and stickers and stuff that I haven't used. I haven't even tried to scrapbook in quite a few years... The digital albums are great for certain things but in addition to normal albums I have a couple of scrapbooks I was making for my DD and I'm kind of stuck in the middle of the 2nd book.
