In the meantime, I need a card because I certainly have spend. So what's a better bet? Barkley's business AA for 75k miles or Chase United for 65K. I have use for both miles and I'm 0/24 for chase.

You've said you still need a ton of UA miles...

Just FYI - the personal United Explorer is offering a tiered 60k miles SUB after a combined $8k MSR. This is asking a really high MSR for only 60k (devalued) UA miles, considering this card (and its predecessor MPE) has offered 50k, 60k, and 70k miles SUBs for $3k MSR in the past. The United Explorer Biz is back down to only 50k miles SUB after a $3k MSR in 3 months (down from an all-time high of 75k miles after a $5k MSR). Neither offer is really compelling.

Barclays AA Biz is a combined 75k AA miles for only $1k MSR and a purchase on an employee card.

If you have the spend, go for both. :confused3

The ones I get actually have the same area code that I have. They aren't local, but they found a way to make it look like it's local so people answer it. I specifically don't answer local numbers unless I know who it is. Of course, this creates issues when doctors call, etc. So annoying.[/QUOTE]

I hate those. I actually twice in the last week have had people call me to say ask why I called them. Grrrr Obviously I can see my recent calls on my phone so I know it wasn't me accidentally calling wrong number but spammers using my number.

ETA - that's really weird that I thought everyone else messed up your quote, but it is messed up on mine too.

I know. It's a really hight soend on the United card. Unfortunately (lol) I can meet it. I have a few days to think about it as I finish up my CIP spend.

I stumbled across a pair of Vionic sandals and they are super comfortable. They say they have "built-in orthotics". If you find anywhere on the ebates promo that sells this brand please lmk -- I'd order another pair in a heartbeat! Can't guarantee they don't look like "old lady" sandals -- I don't think they do, but my 17 yo dd may have a different opinion!

I love their shoes and I think some pairs look like anyone else's from the front. Sure from the side you see a bit of the height and the arch but my feet are happy at the end of the day so I don't care. I've worn them all over WDW, DC and Paris. I also like their flip flops for the arch but I don't walk miles in flip flops. I have seen them on zulily sometimes, QVC and Amazon. Nordstrom sells them but not many options and I don't think they go on sale much even in the half yearly or anniversary sale. I think DSW has a small selection but might have more online than in store. The one thing I will say is I ordered a pair of flats from Amazon and returned them because the arch wasn't as high as the sandals or flip flops so it wasn't high enough for me (I have HIGH arches) and the arch was removable so it seemed pointless.

Thanks. I see some on Shoes.com that has 15% back but I am not seeing any that really jump out at me. Do you have recommendation for a particular kind?

I signed up for the tier SUB United card also thinking I could easily spend it. Especially since they give you longer for the 2nd tier. But I think I am jumping ship after the first spend. I can get another CIP instead. If I was worried about how many cards I had or trying to get under 5/24 then maybe I would keep spending. I do have a few more months to figure it out.

Bummed that my first Plastiq payment has been delayed. I paid $225 (on my CIP of course) for my daughters local basketball camp and they want proof that it is legit. I sent them a copy of the (pretty lame looking) registration form and a link to the facebook page. Hoping that is enough. Anyone else go through something like this and/ or have any tips?

My first Plastiq payment was delayed and I had to submit documentation. I just took a screenshot of the bill and my payment was approved the next day. :)

If it's any consolation, I doubt Chase will go back to offering the 50k, 60k, 70k SUBs for $3k (or even $5k). It seems like Chase is moving to tiered, higher spend bonuses for incrementally more points on a lot of their co-brands.

This happens from time to time. Should be reviewed and approved in a day, or two at most (not including weekends).

I have the CSR and the Amex Plat what car rental place should I use if I want to get a fancy upgraded car. SO is about to turn 25 and we can finally book cars at a reasonable price lol.
DF turned 25 in March & his boss told him, "I guess we can stop treating you as a fresh employee now!"

He left home a young man & came home an old one... :rotfl:

Fancy rental cars are more fun.

I caved and got on eBags tonight. Another set of packing cubes and the cord cube. Funny thing is free delivery says I'll get it on Thu but for $12 per item, I can have it expedited and get it on Fri :confused3 Doesn't make sense to me. But if I actually get either on Thu or Fri, I'll have for my trip starting Saturday. That would be amazing.

Do you like wedges? I have a high arch and plantar fasciitis in one foot. My dr recommends vionic or dansko wedges. The vionic ariel wedge isn't too bad. I also have the vionic tide II, but that's more like a flip flop. None of these are as cute as "regular shoes", I feel your pain.

How much additional spend is it, and how many miles do you get for that?

Ok - I might need more sleep tonight...I totally read this as "Do you like WEDGIES" and I'm like...WOAH where is this headed????

One perk I love from my Amex cards is ShopRunner. Free 2-day delivery from a lot of online stores, including eBags!
