I’ve always felt like a peasant reading about how you and Plane Princess travel in such style. So it’s me who’s humbled that you find this stash anywhere near impressive, because that makes me think I can plan some pretty awesome trips with these points.
I hit Amex really hard last year, including calling in for the 100k MR Biz Plat and self-referrals when I could. The only MR-earning biz card I still don’t have is the BBP. That’s next, hopefully with a self-referral. The only MR-earning personal cards with any significant SUBs left are the Platinum flavors, i.e., the Ameriprise, Morgan Stanley, and Charles Schwab. Then there’s the Green, Blue, and Everyday cards that are small potatoes. However, I can’t touch any of those until I’m willing to give up being under 5/24, which I won’t be again until maybe next spring. I can’t go for the Blue or Everyday if I go for the BBP, because that’ll max out my 5 Amex credit cards limit, unless and until I can close another one. I can’t go for the Morgan Stanley Plat unless I’m willing to fund a $5k investment account. I won’t go for the Charles Schwab Plat until I’m about done and by then maybe tempted with a cash out.
Right now, I’ve been focusing on maximizing a lot of MR-earning Amex Offers. I had a streak of good luck a few months back when I got some of the same Amex Offers as MR and statement credit, making double dipping those a no brainer. Also, with the Amex Gold earning 4x MR now, and Meta MCGCs liquidating at only 1% on Plastiq, I find myself buying a lot of MCGCs from supermarkets these days to pay bills.
This is all in one player mode, so I’m about tapped out, but my wife doesn’t have any MRs to her name yet and has all these cards to look forward to (one’s she doesn’t have to call for, at least).
