Well I was just on the phone with Chase and redirected to 5 different people. I called because I was trying to confirm one of our hotel reservations for Japan and I'm not seeing it on our account. Thank god I saved the email! They kept redirecting me to someone new who was supposed to help me and finally the last person said she could see the reservation and confirmed it. She also told me the hotel won't see our reservation until a couple days out. That doesn't seem legit and I'm worried our reservation might not even exist with the actual hotel. Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

I had an issue with my Wyndham Bonnet Creek reservation last December....I could see the reservation on the Chase travel site...never thought to call the hotel directly to confirm.

When we went to check in the front desk told me I didn’t have a reservation. Had to call Chase...numerous times...spoke with many people...they blamed it on the Wyndham central reservation system not giving the reservation to Bonnet Creek....and Wyndham blamed chase travel....

It took about 5 hours and numerous phone calls to straighten out and get in our room.

Chase email going out, got this offer for my CSP just now. Looks similar to the IHG offer except this is a flat $5 statement credit. No 5x UR

Earn a $5 statement credit when you pay a bill in any of the

between May 13 and July 31, 2019.1

States that the card must be open and in good standing at the time of the payout so unless folks report back it's fairly instant I'll be missing out. I might be blind but I'm not seeing a minimum payment amount. Could you pay $1 to your cell phone and get $5 back? That could be interesting :)

I got this email today - but it is for 3X URs on these same categories.

So, I just redeemed some AA miles and used my latest card's $250 travel credit for actual flight and car through the AAvacations site. I didn't want to do it because I need all that for WDW but it's a situation where better to do it than pay cash and actually better flight options on AA portal.

Long story short - my MIL went for a shot in her back about 6 weeks ago. To help with back pain. Doctor nicked a nerve and she immediately lost all feeling below the waist. Had to have emergency surgery to relieve a hematoma in her spine. Hasn't been able to move her legs or any feeling below waist since. Was in ICU for 3 weeks, then moved to a rehab facility and in a few days is moving to a different one. They are going to have to sell their 4000sqft 2-story and get a small ranch. My dh needs to go back to help his dad in about 10 days.

Was super thankful to have the miles and travel credit. SOOOO much cheaper than cash for flight and car!

Oh my goodness that’s just terrible, your poor MIL....prayers for her and your whole family

You reminded me for all of the Pennsylvanians, are they adding wine and beer sales to all of the convenience stores? I was in total shock when I rode by Royal Farms in Hanover, PA yesterday and saw the sign for beer and wine. It's so nice that Weis now carries it so I can get 4x or 5x on the adult beverage purchases. (yeah, I know some of you like AZ have it much easier with everything being sold in the grocery store and Targets.)

It's not by chain or store type yet, individual stores still have to get a license similar to how the restaurants do it. Actually I think they are restaurant licenses, or a type of one; I heard they need to have seating available because of that. Wawa got one pretty soon after they updated the laws for just one store and then haven't gone much farther than that. I'm just happy that the Acme by me was renovating and put in all the requirements to have the beer and wine sales (the seating, dedicated checkouts) and they aren't astronomically priced so the bonus categories aren't eaten up by the convenience upcharge :D It's a slow process but maybe one day we'll get with the times...

I’m sorry to hear this friend! Hope everything goes ok there.

Hey, we're going to be in Colorado Springs next week too, but just May 14-17! I hope we can get some good hiking in :-)
pixiedust: Hope you have a great time as well. I am torturing myself by checking the weather every. single. day. I just need to wait until Friday and then I'll pack and be done with it. Now it looks better today than it did yesterday, just 2 days of possible rain. Highs in the high 60s/low 70s. Perfect for me (I hate hot).

If it makes anyone feel better, I literally have 0 MRs...

0 MR Club High Fives!!
One more with 0 AMEX MR cards and 0 points!

What a terrible situation. Prayers for your family.

Thank you! She's only 68yo and fairly active before so kind of a shock and no one was really ready for this. They were told she should have feeling back in a couple weeks but nope. We'd been suggesting for years that they downsize but they didn't want to and now they are being forced to and it's much harder.

Awww, now I am sad. Might have considered it if it was UR. Oh well. On the bright side, just means that I don't have to run the math to consider it now :)

Edit: Now I'm really sad @Natgridenergy , 5x on insurance would have swayed it. Ugh, guess I'm stuck with MSRs for that. :p

Oh no! Thank goodness for this hobby, that you and your dh are able to help out without touching cash. All the best to your mil and fil as she recovers and they move

I liked that you have the points to be able handle the situation, not so much the situation. That's terrible to hear and many wishes for a recovery with a better outcome for her. So glad that you can rush off to help last minute like that.

I got the Motherlode - regular, not junior, a couple of weeks ago. Its really nice - used it on a quick weekend trip and it was comfortable to carry (we took the train and carried our stuff all over NYC) and fit TONS of stuff. I never expanded it, and it fit all my clothes for 3 days, an extra pair of shoes and my medium sized handbag inside it. In fact, I'm eyeing the junior because the Motherlode was really bigger than I needed for that trip. I'm trying to get DH to take the Motherlode off my hands (he's looking for a new weekend bag, and he carries camera stuff with him, so he always needs 2x the room that I do) so that I can get the junior - esp. at the price right now with ebates/amex offer/sale.... its kind of killing me.

Anyway, I'd vote Junior for a good overnight size, full sized if you want something that you could pack several days in and carry-on.

I love ebags! My DH has a motherload. He really likes it. It is very large. We can pack for both of us for a weekend in it. I wanted to get Jr's for my kids for international trips but I am afraid they might be too big for them still.

I bought the cord cube for our last Disneyworld trip. We got the large. I like keeping my luggage organized and compartmentalized. I was happy with it.

I wonder if anyone has both to compare the sizes and what you can get into them. My DD has the regular one so I have seen how much she was able to get into it. I always thought it would be great for a Europe vacation because I have heard it is easiest not to have big roller bags there. I guess I have never thought I would use it instead of a roller bag domestically. I use a roller bag and a big tote bag. Do you carry a backpack and a totebag or other type of 2nd bag? Or everything in the backpack? And now I want a cord organizer that I didn't know I wanted.

Such a terrible thing to happen to your MIL. I can't even imagine going from walking to not having any use of my legs. I hope she is able to fully recover.

I'm confused...you can't get beer and wine in grocery stores?

Oh no, that is scary and a terrible situation. So glad that you are able to use your points for it. Are they thinking it will not get better?

Oh my gosh. I'm sorry about your MIL. That sounds like a terrible situation. I hope they're able to correct everything.
