Random Marriott DP for Pittsburgh-ers (well, at least the 'burbs I guess), the Fairfield in Robinson Town Center had gift cards. We stayed there so I had it added to my room to make the AmEx offer threshold. I may have lucked out as I got an Asst Mgr checking us out so when I asked she actually knew they even had gift cards. However, she had never sold one before and opened up the little plastic wrapped packs of cards and envelopes just for me. So possibly any of the millions of Marriott properties by the airport there may have some now.

I found an interesting electronics organizer on Amazon I think I might get. Adding on to my efforts to simplify my packing by having some duplicate stuff ready to go, and the fact that I forgot my darn phone cord last week and had to buy one for $20... What I am really liking/intrigued by is the fact that you don't actually have to remove the cords to charge things if you don't want to. How nice to just unfold it and be able to line up phone/camera/external battery and just plug them into the wall or into an adapter (I've got a 6 usb port adapter for traveling... somewhere). Thought I'd throw it up here in case it interested anyone else.

I'll be interested in your review :-) I've been looking at the ebags Cord Cube (the small onehttps://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/cord-cube-small/350942?productid=10599453) ahead of our international trips in November and December.

This board is the worst. Trying to resist signing up for AA cards, I then got sucked in by the ebags discussion (and I really want the Motherlode Junior, even though the Motherlode I just bought is fine - better than fine), then you start with the pretty cord organizers. How can hanging out with you guys be both so good for my travel budget and bad for my budget at the same time?

Question about flying SW and purchasing the upgraded boarding using the SW Priority card---if you purchase the upgraded boarding for one leg of your trip, do you get it for a second leg? Or would we have to use the boarding position received at our 24hour check-in time?

This is legitimately the first non-nonstop flight we've flown in years! We're flying from PHL to SMF with a change in PHX on Friday.

If you buy the upgraded boarding it’s only good one way. So if you want it both ways you have to buy it twice.

I'm used to shopping Costco which makes Sam's seem completely tame. If you felt you could get overwhelmed in Sam's, don't ever step foot in a Costco. That place is a an all out zoo!

I have a very quiet Costco. It's busy on weekends but not nearly as busy as others in the area. We even have a half dozen self checkouts which I haven't seen at the other local options.

Makes me worry that it will disappear.

grAAvy train friends...How many citi pers cards can you get in 65 days? My dh got his first one 3/18/19. I thought he could get another after 8 days (according to the reddit guide) so app'ed again on 4/13 - auto denied. App'ed again yesterday - auto denied. What am I doing wrong?? He is almost at 65 days (5/23). Is it just one personal card in 65 days?

Oh gosh, we don't have a quiet Costco at any of the three remotely close to me. I wish! I have gotten to where I just dread Costco. We joke it's like trying to get down main street or around the hub after the fireworks pushing a stroller :crazy2:

No self checkouts either. We keep wondering when they will get them (since Sam's right up the street has those and 'scan & go') but I think our store is way too busy for self checkout.

The upgraded boarding position at the gate is only for that leg of the flight (or, put another way, that flight #). When you get to the next airport you'd have to purchase it again, if it's available.

I had to call when my second was auto denied. He said I already had one and I said I wanted another one. He put me on hold then approved it. I just got my third with no issues.

I use self checkout at costco 90% of the time. I think we have 8 of them at our costco. Line always moves faster as the folks with the really full carts don't tend to use self checkout.

As for Sams.... I went once - never went back.

Just saw the new bonvoy commercial and it gave me an idea! :happytv: Who's staying at a Marriott property soon? I think when you go in to check in instead of saying hi you should say Bonvoy! And then see what happens :rotfl2: And then instead of goodbye say Bonvoyed! :rotfl:

Saturday through Tuesday for me. But it's an Aloft that is just opening so I think I'll play nice.

Didn't even think to look here... dangerous!

Thanks! Gotta ration those 4 freebies :-)

I really wish we had self checkout at our Costco!

Hanging around the house again today while we have a roof installed. We're getting solar shingles  but unfortunately we couldn't pay any of it with a cc :sad2:

All right, my friendly enablers. Apparently I have no willpower. Anyone have any experience with the ebags anti-theft small crossbody bag? I need a travel purse (ok, maybe need is a strong word, but whatever) and if I get this along with the junior motherlode I'm over $100 and it will trigger the amex offer and ebates, so really, it would more than pay for itself (just demonstrating my rationalization skills). Anyway - anyone have any feedback on this one?

https://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/anti-theft-small-crossbody/353312?productid=10614510

ETA- I'm being helpful by supplying DH with gifts for the kids to give me for mother's day, therefore avoiding additional expense for things I don't really need. Yay rationalization!

Chase email going out, got this offer for my CSP just now. Looks similar to the IHG offer except this is a flat $5 statement credit. No 5x UR

States that the card must be open and in good standing at the time of the payout so unless folks report back it's fairly instant I'll be missing out. I might be blind but I'm not seeing a minimum payment amount. Could you pay $1 to your cell phone and get $5 back? That could be interesting :)

Don't have an answer but wanted to share that I got the same offer but it's for $10 back.

It's truly random. The Courtyard I bought 2 at last year couldn't sell me one when the most recent offer came out. I'm going to get my credit on my daughter's room this weekend. (Pay using my card while she gets the nights credit for platinum status.)
