Not that I want to jump the gun too much here... but I am hesitantly excited for 3x on CIP again. I had charged $303 in 1x categories on my CIP so far, before my 1k Plastiq payment yesterday. It's currently showing that I am earning 3303 pts on my next statement, though my Plastiq charge is still pending...

We were going to use DH's CIP for a big charge to meet his MSR, then the 3x died the day before we charged it. I got CIP #2, and the 3x seems to be returning - just after I met the MSR. I think its a conspiracy. Plastiq clearly doesn't like me.

I did this recently. The problem I had was that I wrote "do not apply to principal" in the memo. All of the payments arrived before the 1st, so they said since I technically had no payment due yet and I told them they couldn't apply to principal, they had no choice but to mail back the payments! I was able to get it corrected with a phone call. She said next time to allow them to apply to principal and call in later to have it adjusted OR have the payments arrive after the first.
OMG def send after the first. Lol!

They have a number on file and they are also checking to see if the number you say matches.

Yeah, I assumed she was checking against what was on file. But, for example, when I had to call Amex to verify identity for my Hilton Biz, they just sent a text without asking to verify the number. Makes more sense to me....

So the text thing is weird, but I also think they still have a disconnect between the application and the account info. Last year when I got mine both the email and phone number was missing so I had to call in to setup my account since it couldn't verify my info on the site. When I called they asked for a number to text because it wasn't showing. They aren't the first company to ask for the number to text to verify my identity and I'm sure it won't be the last. It's only a puesdo security feature.

I guess. But my new CIC is sitting in my Chase biz online account as of a couple of hours ago. I guess that was after verification and approval though.

Trying to figure out why CHase Travel estimated my wait time as under 2 minutes but we're at 25 and counting...

Just a warning that if you put it off til the end of the promo, you might find your store's been picked clean. Sometimes I'm not able to get to this deal right away, and I like to space my purchases so as to not raise any flags with the RATs, so when I'm in the last two days of these promos I may have to visit more out of the way stores to find the cards.

Also, save the offer in your Safeway app ASAP. I've seen reports of the deal disappearing even when the promo is still live.

That happened to me last time.

:offtopic: Does anyone know if Disney will transfer my luggage for me from Swan to GF?
Yup, They will do Disney to Swolphin and Swolphin to Disney :) Everytime we've done Swolphin to Disney Disney puts our luggage in our room (usually we're back really late, like 10pm or later though - the one time we weren't was like 6pm at BLT and we had to call)

I've never been the "young" mom since I had DS at 36 but, luckily, no one would guess and DS still thinks I am pretty cool and am allowed to go on field trips so I am good with that.

I was by far the "young" mom with DD, but that's because everyone here seems to have kids somewhere between their late 30s and mid to late 40s. When DD was little we kept getting invited to parents' 50th birthday parties and she asked when ours would be and we laughed and told her she'd be all grown up by then. It did make it harder to make mom friends since so many of them were almost 20 years older than me, so I presume I seemed immature by comparison, but I managed to make some great ones. We were cool parents because we loved taking her to DL and WDW, when so many of her friend's parents just said they didn't have the patience for that stuff anymore.

She is their height and also chipmunks, I think. I can’t remember her exact height, just that she is in their range.

Oh, I hope she gets it. My friend got to be Minnie during her CP (way back when) and I don't know the height requirement, but she is small. Minnie's her fave and she still says that was an amazing year. :)

This is interesting...I just have a CSR opened 8/18 and a CFU..opened 3/19...so can’t PC the CFU until 3/19....
If I’m following correctly...I book any trips by August...use the travel credit and PC the CSR to a CF

My DHs CSP is a year old 10/19..I could then PC it to a CSR...earning another TC and global entry....
Then next year PC the CFU to a CSR.....use the credit etc...do you pay 1 years AF or PC for a refund ?
Something along these lines is my long term strategy.

Got the Amex Delta Platinum Biz before the first of the month. This will be my third business card in the last 2 months so I’ve got my MSR cut out for me. I got a CIP and Citi AA Biz card in March.

Flying on Delta for a Viking cruise for Thanksgiving down the Rhine. I figured it couldn’t hurt to have a higher status for potential upgrades and then I can refer DW.

I notice in my AA miles that it says they expire next fall. Do you just have to book something before they expire? I’m looking into booking a trip to WDW for Fall 2020 eventually.
The easiest way to rectify your AA miles expiration date is to get an AA biz card :) haha!

I’d say that’s pretty conclusive...wow! Greats news for all the people that use this.

I've never been in this situation but if I were, I would not want to risk forfeiting those 20k URs. I would call the customer service number on the back of the CIP (1-800-945-2028), explain that you actually wanted to PC to a CIC/CIU rather than cancel, and ask if they would reopen your account and PC the card instead. (You'd need to call in to PC anyway; you can't PC via SM.) Points are tied to the account, not to the card product, so I'm hoping you'll still have your pending points when you reopen your account even if you PC it to a CIC/CIU. I've only ever reinstated a closed card with Citi (one of my oldest, fee free, that they closed for inactivity), and Citi informed me that they'd do a hard pull of my credit report before they'd reopen it. I accepted. Chase may or may not do a hard pull on a reinstatement request. The info I'm finding is kind of mixed, but the rep should ask you or you can ask. If you do get your account reopened, it should keep the original opening date of the account and not the reinstatement date. Since you're eyeing another CIP in June, I'm guessing downside is you risk a hard pull, upside is keeping the original opening date of the CIP is good, and depending on how many other Chase biz cards you have open and what their credit lines are, decide whether to hold onto the converted CIC/CIU for a few months or close it after the points post on 5/13. Really, good luck.

I finally had a chance to call Chase. Everyone hope now that the 20,000 referral points miraculously post and don’t disappear, because reopening the account and product changing is not an option. I called once and he was not nice at all in saying you are out of luck. Figuring HUCA could not hurt at this point and this rep at least tried. She even checked and came back on the line and said that once you close an account you can only reopen within around 24 hours. So @StephPlum I am glad you did the CIP strategy the right way and @striker1064 good luck on your plan to try to reopen your IHG card.

Well, now I'm looking at IHG NYC hotels again, and I'm seeing more that are 40k, which I don't think I knew - HI Express Manhattan Midtown West, HI NYC Wall Street, HI Express NYC Wall Street, and HI NYC - Lower East Side. We've stayed at the HI LES and while the rooms are very small, it's very nice and clean, around the corner from a subway station and just blocks from Doughnut Plant (very important). That HIE Midtown West is particularly interesting, located in Hell's Kitchen... it was only a block away from the Ink48. How'd we miss that walking by? I'm surprised to see a 40k hotel that close to Midtown/Times Square given how IHG bumped up the value of all of the NYC hotels not that long ago.

sighs

Guess I'm calling Chase to re-open the card.

Many years ago (Maybe 2011 summer pre 9/11) I stayed at Holiday Inn Wall Street a couple of times and enjoyed it at the time. Teeny rooms, but kept up at the time - can't speak for it now, but I would try it again for that location if I were doing touristy things in that area - SOL, etc.

I was the young mom with ds as well! I was working full-time and finishing my second degree while he was young, so never really got to meet many other parents. My parents did drop off / pick up for me most days -- they were amazing grandparents. With dd I am close to the oldest -- most moms are a few years younger than me, a few, but not too many, are a bit older. It's a different dynamic. In our neighborhood most of the families moving in have babies / toddlers and I'm not going to lie, it makes me feel old!

I'm sorry. Fingers crossed it all works out!

Just to add that my Plastiq payment hasn't posted yet, but I'm seeing additional points pending in the amount of my Plastiq payment x3. Looks good.
