1. Finish up my CIP2 MSR.

2. Move on to the $4k/30k MR retention offer on my Plat.

I had been playing with the idea of using my BGR 20k MR self-referral to get myself the 10k MR BBP, but now I'm cautiously monitoring for DPs of clawbacks (or successes) with Amex self-referrals.

Really kicking myself over P2's bad timing for the IHG 120k offer. P2 got the legacy SPG card in February (which has since reported to her CRs), CIP2 in March (and before that, the CIC in December), so going for the IHG 120k before it expires on 5/1/19 feels a bit aggressive. And since this is my wife's accounts I'm working with, I don't feel like getting killed in the event of a financial review or shutdown. P2 is only 1/24, so she has the runway to bide her time for increased offers.

I'm planning to hold off until June for another card for P2. We'll see what the Chase IHG, Hyatt, or United SUBs are like then (all currencies I'd have plans for). If nothing looks appealing, I may use a BGR 20k MR referral to get P2 a Platinum card (and try for a 75k MR SUB since CardMatch doesn't want to show P2 a 100k MR SUB) because she's still traveling for work and (won't say it but) wants access to the Centurion Lounge.

I'm going to close out my CIP1 soon and may try for CIP3 or the CIU in June/July, and looking to get the Hyatt later this year.

I'm trying to slow my roll, but I feel like I'm pushing my limit with Chase (4 open Chase biz cards) and I've got most of Amex's biz cards that I'm interested in (Biz Plat, BGR, Biz Green, Bonvoy Biz, Hilton Biz) except for the BBP, so I may need to branch out and hop on the GrAAvy train.
I’m struggling to even have a plan. I had things mapped out for 2 years but that included a CP. then they changed terms, so DH wasn’t eligible until 8/2019 for the SW personal. I’ve done a couple AA Biz cards for myself while trying to get under 5/24, but I have a while before I can go for another and by then I should be under 5/24 so I’ll be trying for CP for me in May. I tried to get DH another AA Biz (he had one in 2017) but he was denied because they say that old Biz Card is delinquent, even though he closed it. After using a bunch of URs over the weekend, “DH” applied for a CIU (I know CIP is better but I have a hard time with $k MSR and I don’t MS.) Still at 30days on that app. I feel like whatever plan I come up with gets derailed.

I'm having some trouble understand this. I'm accumulating AA miles to book JAL and I know booking through BA is one option. I've also been looking at booking through Alaska. Does this mean I need to try to accumulate more AA miles? Or am I ok?

I've only skimmed this since I'm not invested in One World. But it seems to only matter if you're using BA Avios to book partner awards, not if you're using AA miles to book partner awards within One World. That said, there is some buzz that AA may follow Delta's and United's move towards dynamic pricing and if that happens you may need more AA miles.

Question, if I open up a new card will I already have the offers? I’m such a procrastinator and have been putting off getting an Amex business card. I’ve been wanting to buy a Surface for forever. They have them on sale for $200 off. An additional $250 off + the signup bonus and portal is such a good deal.

1 month period" can be a bit odd for some of us since a lot of us are strategizing further out and many of us don't get more than 1 card (maybe 2) in a month. My current plan goes out about 10 months from now and includes 12ish cards.

Lol I can’t plan anything 10 months from now. I feel like I try and it never goes according to plan. April was the first month where I typed out “churning goals” for the month and I feel like that helped me be more productive. I’m struggling to say on task sometimes with this and I found making a plan for a month helped me stay on task. I think I’m moving a lot faster than anyone else here though.

It’s definitely a safe bet that you’re in the top 95% I’d say!! :P

I’m trying to pack it in in two days plus a Cubs game and we are seeing Hamilton. Not going to be restful!

We are trying to fit a show into our trip as well. But even with 5 days we still have a lot planned between Shedd Aquarium Museums and other touristy spots. Plus I managed to get us the hop on/off bus for free through my job. They give us "points" too. So our trip won't be restful either.

In other churning news I've already reached my MSR on my CIP and that is within 90 days so will be looking to see if my points post when the next statement closes.

Can't wait to read more about your trip.

But wow, what an MS opportunity. What was the limit for onboard credit?
It IS $1000 per cabin.
FYI - I just called Chase's Cruise Dept. and inquired about using UR points for a cruise in December 2020 as previously they were only letting people book through 2019. She was able to pull up the cruise I was looking at tell me how many UR's it would take to book. So, you can now book later than 2019 (Except on DCL).
This makes me :cool1:

in theory, it works. you may get stopped by the cashier. I had to try it twice. 2nd attempted work.
try a cashier, if its not a whole lot, they wont bat a eye. If they do somehow stop you, i kept mentioned to them that the Happy Cards is a "credit" card, not a debit card. I point at the "ATTN: Casher charge this as a credit" they may see things differently because of that.
I’ve got the offer too.
So we just ring up GC like normal and then for payment say credit card and swipe like normal? No pin to enter or anything weird? This is the part where I always have anxiety...such a wuss.

I know you'll all understand.

I was in a hurry the other day before work. I placed an ebags order with 15% cashback at Ebates, a coupon, and what I thought was my DH's Amex card with the $20 off a $100 bonus offer. I spent $83 and used the wrong Amex card---business instead of personal. Oh what joy! :) I can only laugh at myself. My "great deals" turned out to be a total #$@% up. What in the world was I thinking?!

Oh yeah - MOST of us have been there! When you’re trying to juggle all the different deals/promos every once in awhile it happens!
