Would we all agree that the best card for statement credit on WDW tickets is the Arrival+? If so, if I purchase the tickets in the first statement period as part of my MSR and get the points then, can I use them to "erase" the travel purchase? Or would my best tactic be to meet the MSR, get the SUB and then make the purchase with Undercover Tourist?

And to cap off this comment - those points are now IN both of our AA accounts today.

It's crazy to think that we went from having 10k AA miles at the beginning of the year to having 258k before the end of April. By the end of June we'll have over 400k! In other words, the biz only grAAvy train goes from 0-60 pretty darn quick!

The game changed using points to book Disney hotels and you adapted with amazing results

I would definitely take the time to go to Stanley Park but don't waste your time at the aquarium. We went a couple years ago because we hadn't been since they took the zoo out and remodeled the aquarium. It's tiny and there's really not much to see and wasn't worth what we paid to get it. It was expensive in my opinion especially for the size. I haven't been to the Shedd aquarium in Chicago but I know it's better than Vancouver. If there's something specific there you want to see that you haven't seen and have the UR's to burn go for it otherwise I'd skip it. Honestly I'd say the same about the one in Seattle and I volunteered there as a high school summer naturalist. Unless you get it as part of a city pass or have kids/or yourself that are going to slow down and take the time to look at it all save your money. They are both small and I feel like there are better valued things to do in both cities when you are on a limited time. I wouldn't say the same about Monterey, Atlanta, Chicago or Baltimore aquariums and I've only been to Monterey, but I've heard enough about them to know they are some of/if not the top aquariums in the US.
Thanks! Good to know. I haven’t been to the Shedd in quite a few years because it’s pricy plus they used to charge extra for a few of the exhibits, so you could easily spend $60-70 pp. Maybe we’ll skip Vancouver and save it for a trip to Shedd.

We liked the aquarium. We also did the carriage tour because my mom was with us and I thought it was the best way for her to see Stanley Park.
Maybe we will play by ear. They look like they have a few interesting things. Our local aquarium, Shedd, is $40pp, Vancouver is $30 USD. We plan on Stanley Park post cruise as our hotel will be close.

Plus you should see some of the animals on the cruise I would think/hope if you are lucky anyway. When I was looking to make sure I got the name of Shedd correct I noticed they had free days for IL residents. I'm sure it makes it busy but it might be a good way to go anyway if you get there early.

Guys - I'm officially in the Plastiq game. Signed up (via a DISchurners link of course - & PMed that person) ;) and made a $500 add'l principal payment on my mortgage.

A few additional notes:
  • In addition to the "support" offer of $500 FFD after paying $500 in bills, I also was offered $50 FFD just for signing up
  • So on my initial $500 payment, I got the 1% MC promo discount (it does show up as a "promo" by the way) and the $50 FFD so it only cost me $6.75 to make this $500 payment.
  • Then once the support offer posts, I'll make another $500 pmt for $0 in fees! That will make a dent in my CitiBiz AA MSR :)
EDIT: My $500 FFD already posted :) :)

The rest of my plan then is:
  • Have my wife signup using my link
  • Repeat the same process above for her (hopefully paying $1,000 towards the mortgage for only $6.75)
  • I'll also earn another $1,000 in FFD from her signup and we'll pay that too...
  • This really seems too easy...$3,000 in MSR towards my mortgage for $13.50.....WOW!
Anyways - figured I'd share for anybody on the fence about using Plastiq! Of course, since paying a mortgage is kosher with MC it makes this so easy (until my mortgage is gone here pretty soon though)

We do have a BOA card that gives discounted tix on certain days also. I just hate to go to Shedd on weekends and we rarely take week days off during the week except vacations. Free days are literal zoos.

It’s not like anything I’ve watched before. But I’d sum it up to the quick wit and banter from Gilmore Girls and a Dapper Day costume department.

Haha! Wait until I tell the Plane Princess that I got an upgrade to Queen!
Hmm I might have to check it out. Is it on Netflix though?

I'm overdue to update the index over there! I'll do that at some point soon :)

We appreciate everything you do! I’ll be throwing up a review for a Marriott in New Orleans next month. Holiday Inn in Scotland and a Hilton in London for June/July followed by Residence Inn in New York for August and the Park Hyatt Tokyo in September. I suppose I should apologize in advance for the extra work I will wind up causing :faint: and hope you won’t throw in the towel :rotfl2:

I’m not sure since I don’t have Netflix. It’s on Amazon Prime and this is the first time I’ve used it for watching a show. I’m venturing into new territory here.
We use my FIL’s prime for shipping so we could use it to watch that show. I’m rewatching vampire diaries right now so I’ll probably finish that first

We saw it yesertday and really enjoyed it. I made sure to use the restroom 10 min before the movie started since we had been sitting there for an hour.

No reserved seats??
I made it! I did not drink at all before we left, and I had a can of coke, and I didn't finish it until probably the last 25 minutes of the film. I really did not want to get up, and I didn't even have to go when it was over. Of course I have been drinking non-stop since then. We LOVED it! I was actually blown away by how great it was, and I love Marvel films. They did such a spectacular job with this one. I cried, more than once, and ugly cried pretty badly. Had to redo my makeup after we got home. It didn't feel at all lik 3 hours.

Sure with my Delta bonus would post, really making me nervous.

I try to update that index every 2-3 months just because it’s easier than doing it every time something new is posted.

BUT I NEVER mind updating it because that means my DISchurner friends have gone somewhere fun and exciting! I love reading about the trips and seeing places I may potentially want to visit. :)

We looked at around 16 houses today and it was a very productive day of house hunting! We found one we absolutely love. It’s at the very top of our budget but it’s completely move in ready. I’d rather have that than pay less and have to do work. We’d like to move down and not worry about anything. We may make an offer on it tomorrow after we get more info on the house.

@have2getaway

I’d also be interested in your exact dates...when you say “Weds to Weds (Before President’s Day)” do you mean leaving the Wed before or getting back the Wed before? (Exact dates would be helpful). Same issue with your other description...”Tues to Tues (After President’s Day/during Mardi Gras)” - leaving Tues after or getting back Tues after? I can figure out that Pres Day is 2/17 but I can’t quite figure out exactly what your descriptions in parentheses mean. :)

IF we are comparing these two options:
  • Option 1 = 2/4-2/11
  • Option 2 = 2/12-2/19
Then option 1 wins the day. Lower crowds, substantially less URs - pay the $350 and take that option. If I have my dates all wrong then clarify lol!

Thank you! This really does lay it out much nicer and make it easier to compare. We were both thinking week 1 as well.
