It's the opening weekend of the Hamilton Exhibition so we fly out to Chicago tonight and the forecast is showing snow. I'm excited about wearing a coat, gloves, boots and all that winter type stuff. Here in Florida we practically live in flip flops so this weekend makes for an interesting change.

I’m still being skeptical on the weather. Radio forecast was 3-7 inches, my weather app says 1-3 inches. Weather forecasts are notoriously unreliable in Chicago. DS has soccer games tomorrow and Sunday. I’m hoping for no rain or snow.

I am glad I ignored Chase’s multiple previous attempts to upgrade my Disney Visa ($50 statement credit, pay $49 AF, make 1 purchase).

I just got a mailer that I can get a $100 statement credit when I upgrade to Premier, pay the $49 AF, and make 1 charge by 6/30.

Thinking I should do it now. $51 is $51. Any reasons not to?

I keep getting those too. Went ahead and signed up last night even though I’m not sure I’m eligible. It’s been less than 2 years since I got the SUB then I downgraded. I got the “Thanks for requesting an upgrade” email so we’ll see. If it works, I’ll be charging $100 for OBC on our cruise.

The Disney cards are all about 2 years old, which are much newer than my 10+ years old Marriott and Amazon cards. Is that new enough to cancel?

Well, oddly my CIP #2 first statement didn't close on 4/24 when I thought it would. First due date says 5/21. Good news is my 85k points are pending...met spend 5/22 and pending today (at least I think I checked yesterday).

I need help.

I am having FOMO and want to get the Citi AA biz while there is the increased offer for 75,000 miles. I will just use it to pay the mortgage, so not worried about the spend. My problem is that I do not have a Citi card so I should think it will be a hard pull. I had a hard pull September 2018 and March 2018 both with Barclays (in hindsight if I had known they would do another hard pull I might not have gotten the Aviator Biz). If I add a hard pull for Citi onto my report will Chase care? I.e. trying to get credit with other banks so less likely to approve?

Is three hard pulls in less than a year too much? I already will be pushing it a little bit as the plan is to get CIP 2 after an approval for the CIC March 10.

Does Citi not usually pull for subsequent cards? I thought only amex doesn't do another pull. Thats good news if so. I think you will be fine with 3 hard pulls.

When we visited DD last week I convinced her to let me take winter coat/hats/gloves/sweaters etc so it would be less to move out in 3 weeks. She kept saying but what if it gets cold again. I’m like you have 3 weeks, you will be fine. Oops. Haha. She hasn’t called to yell at me yet, thinking she hasn’t looked at forecast. Her weather doesn’t look quite as bad as Chicago so hopefully she will be ok.

I am finally watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. My nail tech had it on last night while she was doing my Hamilton nail art. I asked her what it was and when she told me I remembered everyone raving about it in this group. So, I paid attention to the first few episodes and loved it. They are now downloaded and I plan to binge watch on the way to Chicago. Thanks everyone who recommended the show!

Upgrading doesn’t use a 5/24 so it’s often a great way to get a card and some points without a new app
