Thanks for catching that! Mistake...it's my Hh card,P2 is the AU.
So I'm wondering about upgrading one our Hh cards to an aspire? He upgraded his personal Hh to Ascend in 7/18- should one of us upgrade from there? I have the Hh basic and Hh biz- better for me to upgrade to Aspire or Ascend?(I have 5 cards already, one of those is P2 AU on ascend) plus one charge Amex biz green) so I can't get another right now, but maybe I can upgrade?
P2 has Hh basic and Hh Ascend.
Considering next move to keep P2 to his 5/24 schedule for August- try to open a Hh Biz, and then possible upgrade to Aspire from Ascend?
My next move is to refer myself for CIP on 6/1 from P2's acct. so upgrading wouldn't count against that right?

Correct, upgrading wouldn't count against that for your CIP. But I also think your AU card doesn't count towards the 5 credit card limit. It should just be card accounts in your name, and only the credit ones, your biz green doesn't count anywhere. So while upgrading keeps your 5/24 intact, you're missing out on the sign up bonus. Once you hold a card, through upgrade or forced product conversion or a new application, you're not eligible for the normal sign up bonus. The current wisdom is to apply for the new card to get the sign up bonus, and then take an upgrade offer on the old card when it comes out. That way you don't have to wait for a no-lifetime-language offer later.

But as we always say, there's not necessarily a wrong way to play this game as long as your end goals are met. So if keeping around 5/24 is more important then just make sure you get the highest upgrade offer out there since you may only get it once.

I know with UR flights with Delta it defaults to Basic Economy flights and no seat selection. Which I agree is pretty much useless. That’s why I started finally focusing on MR’s for flights.

Delta was the worst. Wouldn’t put my DS11 with an adult. Put me in last row with DD8 and hubby way up in front. Luckily someone in my row switched with DS thank god.

Thanks so much for the info. I have only used MRs for flights so far, and have been saving URs for hotels. It sounds like that might work well for us, since I really don't want to sit alone on a flight.

I know this isn't anything new, but I'm loving the $200 fee free MC from Staples using my CIC and Dosh. They offered them only about a month ago. I bought a few then and have been using them for all spend, except 5% categories from the Freedom. So this time I've been buying one a day, getting $5 back from Dosh each time. Just signed up with Plastiq using a referral and loaded the card, and only paid the 1% fee, because it processes as debit. Paid a $161 utility bill. So I got 1000 UR and netted $3.39 from Dosh after paying Plastiq, and got to pay a bill that previously had been withdrawn from checking.

Thank god we fly to Florida tomorrow. The forecast is showing snow here. Isn’t it almost May?

It's going to be gorgeous tomorrow! We are headed to Hollywood Studios in the morning with friends, thankfully the rain that was forecasted earlier in the week came today instead :sunny:

Have a safe trip and happy house hunting!! So exciting! :goodvibes

Curious how 2 CSRs make sense for you. I know the travel credit gets used. Is it for DH to charge dining/travel? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have him as an AU?

We keep things like separate and it makes life easier for both of us. It's why I said more the exception than the norm. Even an AU card is an additional $75 with no additional benefits.

Thank god we fly to Florida tomorrow. The forecast is showing snow here. Isn’t it almost May?

It's the opening weekend of the Hamilton Exhibition so we fly out to Chicago tonight and the forecast is showing snow. I'm excited about wearing a coat, gloves, boots and all that winter type stuff. Here in Florida we practically live in flip flops so this weekend makes for an interesting change.

It's not debt that's available to use, it's credit. The balance you are paying is the debt.

If you are charging over 30% of your available credit or more each month and not paying it until after your statement close it will affect it. But what matters also in that is what your score is to start with.

It's really not something most people here are concerned with because their overall credit available from all issuers is way higher than they spend in a month.

I think the question more is why are you so concerned with it? Do you not feel comfortable with the high limits you have? Do you have higher expenses due to where you live so you charge a lot more than the average person and want to make sure you aren't hurting your score too mich? Are you trying to build your score higher?

The last time I checked, my score was 832. I’d like to keep my score strong, and so just want to understand how it is affected, both positively and negatively. I am mostly concerned that I am being offered a high credit limit (that I don’t need) and will not be able to be approved for another card I want later on to earn a SUB. The more I understand, the better I will be able to reap the benefits these cards offer. I guess one thing I question, if you pay off what you spend before the statement close date, does it still count as use at all?

I got an email that I have a Lyft promo for 25% off all rides through May 7th. We'll be at WDW starting May 3rd so I'm hoping this includes Minnie Vans. I think I could justify an extra Minnie Van or two if we got 25% off plus the Discover It bonus!
The Lyft promos work with Minnie Vans! The % off promos usually cap at a certain $ amount in the fine print, but anything helps.

I even had to call for an accessible Minnie Van one time and the dispatcher and driver said it would be honored and it was when charged back to the room.

I need help.

I am having FOMO and want to get the Citi AA biz while there is the increased offer for 75,000 miles. I will just use it to pay the mortgage, so not worried about the spend. My problem is that I do not have a Citi card so I should think it will be a hard pull. I had a hard pull September 2018 and March 2018 both with Barclays (in hindsight if I had known they would do another hard pull I might not have gotten the Aviator Biz). If I add a hard pull for Citi onto my report will Chase care? I.e. trying to get credit with other banks so less likely to approve?

Is three hard pulls in less than a year too much? I already will be pushing it a little bit as the plan is to get CIP 2 after an approval for the CIC March 10.

Following-up on the UR JetBlue booking. I called JetBlue and the rep confirmed I have the seat the UR portal automatically assigned me and that I can change it to any other seat now that it has been ticketed. Not the simplest, but not the worst at all. I guess I can't complain for free :goodvibes

I am glad I ignored Chase’s multiple previous attempts to upgrade my Disney Visa ($50 statement credit, pay $49 AF, make 1 purchase).

I just got a mailer that I can get a $100 statement credit when I upgrade to Premier, pay the $49 AF, and make 1 charge by 6/30.

Thinking I should do it now. $51 is $51. Any reasons not to?

Plastiq 1.5% on any Mastercard?

Did I miss this? I recall the conversation about MCGC being 1%. Just made payments using a regular MC cc and it is only charging me 1.5% on payments. Glitch? Something I missed reading somehow?
I just set up a test payment on Plastiq using a Mastercard and am showing the same thing. 1.5% fee. If I switch to a Visa, it goes up to 2.5%. I hadn't heard anything about it either. Interesting...

If you pay it off so there's no balance before the statement closes then no balance will be reported to your CR. It can be helpful to let some balance go to your CR but it doesn't have to. The payment will still go. You just have tonmake sure you don't cycle your credit like I think @palhockeymomof2 mentioned before.

Thank you! Have a great time at Hollywood studios! I told Dh just now that it’s gonna be hard to be that close to Disney and not go

Yeah, after I made that first comment I went back and tested with a Visa, same result as yours, 2.5% for Visa. I’m thinking it’s just a glitch. Sort of wishing I had more payments of anything that I needed to make, but I really don’t right now!! I’ll need to keep thinking...I’m sure it’s going to disappear. Although, it IS getting close to the same time of year that they did that AWESOME Masterpass promo last year. So maybe...?
