A little late seeing this, but I hope that this helps:

I have a corporate AMEX that I spend a LOT of money on.

I pay a $90 AF to keep my corporate AMEX points (the $90 AF hits my corporate AMEX, but I mark that expense as a private expense and they deduct it from my check. I set it up by calling the number on the back of my AMEX card (you can call this number - AMEX membership rewards direct number: 1-800-297-3276) and simply asking them if I could keep my points and they said yes. I use my corporate AMEX login to go to this website and view my rewards: www.membershiprewards.com

1 point earned/$1 spent

Redeeming - flights/hotels booked through AMEX - can transfer points to flight Delta, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, Choice Privileges, gift cards, etc.

Also can transfer points to personal platinum or gold or green cards, but not cobranded cards.
Wow! If this could work it would be amazing!

Well, that is just awesome. I just applied for the Blue Business Plus for myself and DH and the Lowes Business for DH. Instant approval on all 3 cards (No SUB's though because of Pop-ups). That is just the easiest 55,000 MR Points ever. I am so excited. Wish some of my other cards had higher referral's. Is the referrals capped yearly or in total? Rethinking keeping the Business Gold if yearly - I think the fee is $175 for that one unless it went up.

One thing to factor in is the likelihood of getting a 1099 -- that would decrease the value of the referral, maybe not enough to matter, but maybe so.

Yeah. Was AMEX sending them out to everyone or just those over a certain $ amount?

Just fyi, DoC is allowing people to post their Disney visa links (no fee version). I posted on his site last year when he did this and got a couple hits. I posted pretty quickly last year and right away this time, but he always takes like 24 hours to allow my comment to go through, so my comment isn't showing. Maybe others will have better luck. Worth trying!

Any dining recommendations in the area near the Park Hyatt? I looked online and didn't see much.

Like a PP said Norma's is AMAZING! Probably best to make a reservation as they can get busy. There's also Sara Beth's across from Central Park that is usually good (be prepared to wait on weekends as they don't take reservations or didn't last time we were there). For a quick grab and run there is a really nice pastry shop on 7th (I think) one block from the hotel where you can grab oj, yogurt or a breakfast sandwich or croissant to take back to the room. And of course there is always Starbucks right across the street (though the bakery is nicer!). Love the Park Hyatt NYC!

I don’t plan on keeping the Gold I think it’s $250 now tho.

Ok. So if I keep it as is with 55,000 points I should be good (hopefully - we all know things can change)

I don’t worry too much about the taxes. Even if you’re in the highest tax bracket at 37% a $200 referral you would keep $126.

@Haley R- I just received a UPS alert that my HP backpack is on its way. Hoping it looks as nice in person as it did online.
Me too! I got an email. I checked earlier today and saw that the delivery date changed to this week but I assumed it was a mistake. I can’t wait to see what it looks like. It was $26 and we earned 2x by getting it through the chase portal so not too bad

Congrats!!

I didn't expedite mine either, didn't want to chance having eyes on it myself since the other CIP is still open. I'm leaving next week for a trip and I hope mine comes before then!!

Glad to know he's doing the right thing not contacting them. Thanks!

I made an Instagram account if anyone's interested. I posted it on the reddit site. It's mainly for when we go to Japan, but I did post some pictures from our past wdw trips.

Ooh I'd love to see your Japan pics! I'll have to check it out.

If you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk, we loved Toloache. http://toloachenyc.com/mobile/home.html

We liked it so much, we reserved it again for our next trip. It gets busy, so you need a reservation.

Thank you. I'm making a list of all the recommendations. The menu looks great!

Thank you so much! I'm looking them all up now and making a list to share with my DH. Glad you like the hotel, too. We've only ever stayed at the Palace before but so happy we can use points this time.

DoC is reporting that the Chase Freedom Unlimited ("CFU") 3x Everywhere for the First Year Signup Bonus, up to $20,000 in Purchases is now Available Via Referral.

This offer was previously available in branch only.

Note that the trade-off for the 3x UR everywhere (capped at $20k) is no $150/15k UR SUB for MSR. @SouthFayetteFan commented about the value of this offer vs. the old offer here:

DoC also has opened a page for people to post their support links for the CFU: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-freedom-unlimited-referrals/ This could be a good chance to pick up some random clicks given the amount of traffic that goes through DoC's site.

This change in the CFU offer is expected to be part of more changes to Chase's credit card offers launching tomorrow, including a tiered SUB for the personal United Explorer card, up to 60,000 miles, broken down as follows: 40,000 miles after $2,000 in spend, and an additional 20,000 miles after an additional $6,000 in spend; and the rumored removal of 0% introductory APR on the Chase Ink Unlimited and Chase Ink Cash cards.

Decided to try a day time chat with Citi for my dh's personal card and ask for a match. No go from the day time rep. Brittany informed me that I could not be matched unless I had received a mailer or email. When I said the offer was available on AA's website, she promptly told me that wasn't the same as being 'presented' an offer :headache: So, I'll stick to late night chats.
I had the same problem yesterday talking to a Citi rep. I’m going to try a secure message tonight.

You won’t see any Japan stuff until May but I definitely plan to put some up!

I mailed in the info Barclay asked for to verify my dh's identity for the aviator card on Mar 11. We've heard nothing about it at all and they said he would hear something within 30 days. Someone else had to do this for Barclay also (maybe @DisneyMandC ??). Does it take the full 30 days to hear from them?

In more Barclay news, I still have heard nothing from them about the 10k match I requested. I sent the request on Mar 4. They said they were forwarding it on for review. Why are they SOOOO slow!?!?! Barclay is kind of sorta driving me crazy.

I had to send in the identity info. It took 16 days from applying for me to get my letter, mail the stuff, and get an approval email. The email came Sunday and it said 7-10 days to get my card.

Is there a general consensus on best hotel/point redemption in the Disneyland area? We are looking at going next May 2020 for 3-4 nights. I have URs that I could use, as well as some Marriott points. I've got plenty of time to open other cards to get more points if needed. I'm unfamiliar with the area, so just wondering if any of you all had been and what your thoughts were?
Not sure on best hotel for UR transfers but our go to hotel is Hotel Indigo which you could use IHG points on. The Hilton and Marriott are also nice but we prefer the smaller Hotel Indigo.
