Those of you following the SW cancellations do you think direct flights have a higher likelihood to be cancelled vs those with a stop/plane change?
I think you mean nonstop flights (not direct) ;)

Unfortunately, I don’t think that anything meaningful can be gleaned on nonstop routes vs routes w/stops from the anecdotal commentary I’ve read.

Anyone stayed at the Boston Logan Hilton? Trying to help my parents get from Traverse City, Michigan to Bermuda and an overnight stay in Boston seems to be the best option.

Stayed there a couple times a few years ago - walkable to Terminals but it is a bit of a hike. If you are going to use the shuttle bus - the Embassy Suites or HGI are also worth considering.

I'm 100% #TeamCheap and thus will always value an immediate cash discount over points. So I signed up for a Square Cash debit just now because of something they have called "boosts" meaning I will get like 10% certain restaurants, a buck off at coffee shops, 10% at Kroger (yes, there's a gift card play there). The boosts do have a max value but you can cycle them every 30 minutes.

Anyway I thought I'd throw some cash in the account and use for lunches when I go out at work, which isn't very often. DH ALWAYS eats at Chik Fil A for lunch so I figured I could get him some discounted meals that way too.

Plus you get to personalize the card with a signature or emoji or Twitter handle. My Twitter handle was too long for the signature box so I used my first name and skull emoji. Sadly there were no metal horns. \m/
Have you tried to use the Kroger boost for an online gift card purchase. I signed up, waiting for my card to arrive, and I haven't seen data points on this option.

+ As we sat like peasants in the cattle pens at Midway, waiting for the SW cattle call for our connecting flight, I really felt like we were missing out on the lounge
My first thought “Wait Midway has a lounge?!?”
"Yep, and you don't need to remove the liquids or anything from your bag and most times you get the metal detector rather than the body scan."
Flew in/out of MDW last week to MCO, gotta say getting Precheck from our GE was great. Line was pretty long thru TSA at MDW, Precheck was a breeze.
I know there was talk of this recently, but I just want to confirm that we cannot use the Bonvoy Brilliant $300 credit on SPG hotels yet, correct?
Yep, used last week at Swan.
Oh yay! That's right, it was about the giftcards. I want to use my credit at Swolphin as well. I just snagged two nights at GF with my DVC points for Memorial day weekend and want to add on a night a Swolphin!
I successfully used the credit for the resort fees as well as food from the Fountain and Fuel, charged to our room. Even though it’s only supposed to work for charges to the room, a charge at Java Bar also credited.
I always recommend walking a little farther west from Times Square to Hell's Kitchen to eat. From there, anything you want is good. For Thai, Larb Ubol is one of the best meals we've ever had in NYC. Queen of Sheba is an ok Ethiopian restaurant. Meske is a block away and better. If you want street food, you can't go wrong with the 53rd and 6th Halal Guys further downtown (bring cash).

This is a tough one because the immediate area is kind of corporate-y. When we stayed at the PH, we frequently headed to other neighborhoods to eat. 9Ten had a decent breakfast. I've heard Norma's is great but we haven't been there. If you're into How I Met Your Mother, the bar that inspired McClaren's is nearby - it's an Irish Pub called McGee's and it does have good food. A little further, highest recommendation to Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen (that's the name). Get the soup dumplings!
And now I’m hungry

Behind here. Been away a couple of days. Been having a bit of a rough time.

Now I'm thinking my Vegas Aerosmith trip next week is cursed. Girlfriend that was coming hurt herself at the gym and needs surgery so she's out. DH is sick and a basket case and it's just not good. So I don't know what is going on with that. My other girlfriend who is coming is flying Southwest and ya'll know that mess.

My friend with the now bum leg had us a sweet Marriott Friends and Family rate. She's not coming now so I have to scramble to find a new place. Rates are sky high now for the strip - but I'm trolling Membership Rewards for a good deal. Wish me luck!

I booked the Palazzo for $100/night in August thru hotwire and I was able to know which hotel it was going to be via a website that figures out what hotel you are bidding on. I will look for the website name if you are interested.

CHASE Sapphire support clicks increase to 15k points!

DoC just shared that the support click increased and you can now earn a max of 75k a year apparently. The signup bonus is still the new 60k offer.

You can share your own links on DoC here:
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-sapphire-preferred-referrals/

Reminder to folks looking at the Sapphire cards, Modified Double Dip is still a thing - research it on DISchurners. It’s not for everybody but if you can hit $8k MSR in 3 months it’s so worth it!

If you’re in 2 player mode and only want to go for 1 Sapphire each you really have to consider now if CSP is the right move for both. You could earn 143k URs between 2 players (60k + 4K + 60k + 4K + 15k) vs 108k from 2 CSRs (50k + 4K + 50k + 4K) OR 118k from 1 of each (50k + 4K + 60k + 4K).

My dh's CSR AF posted 4/1. I've been trying to justify this AF to myself for the last several months but I'm not sure I can do so any longer. The last few redemptions I've made have been just a few bucks savings. Certainly not enough to justify the $450 fee. With Disney no longer bookable, I'm finding myself in a place where I plan to just cash out UR's. So, what have others done?? Are you PC'ing to a CSP in case you decide you need the 1.5x multiplier you can PC back to a CSR? Or just cancel the card? I do have a CIP so I'd still be able to use that to book at least.

Since I don't have a biz card I could move them for I PC'd to a CSP so I can still transfer to outside partners like Hyatt. I figure it'll make it easier to PC back to CSR if I ever want to as well.

My thinking leans this way too. I really am concerned that Disney will come back or some other great redemption and I'll be 'stuck' and not able to get back to a CSR. It's worth the $95af, I think.

Aw Crap - I get busy doing work and then this happens... You definitely want to be in early with DoC's referral posts. I bet the first handful of folks match and people further down rarely get a click (speaking from personal experience on both ends)...

Thanks for sharing - I at least got in there but looks I'm 6 hours too late!

For those who have 50 karma on r/churning, I also made a comment in the daily discussion thread to draw attention to this card and direct them to Rankt from there. (EDIT: And it's being downvoted like crazy...gotta love those guys...)

https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/b8wj1i/discussion_thread_april_03_2019/ek2asfy/

There are NOT a lot of people on r/churning who have this card so if you have the karma make sure you've posted your link here on Rankt: https://churning.rankt.com/referrals/chase_disney_rewards/

With it potentially subject to 5/24 then I think the interest dropped after that. So maybe not as big a hit as it would have been last year?

Haha. My offers were gone this morning but they are back now. And for the first time ever I have offers on my Disney cards too.

Yes! No actual offers but it's listed in the offers section now. Maybe I'll actually use the card this year

Do I have to be home to accept this? I just read on another blog that expedited cards need signature. I have never had that before so hoping it is bull.

Neither Chase or FedEx have required signature for ours.

My first thought “Wait Midway has a lounge?!?”

HAHA, yeah I even double checked while we were there after I saw an advertisement for enhancements coming. Forget exactly what it said but I got my hopes up for a second :)

Precheck has been great even just the few times I've used it so far. Aside from getting held up once because we packed an extra watch, I've sailed through in just a few minutes... then wait around on the other side for hubby :rolleyes1

what is a good Debt to Equity ratio to have, to be better guaranteed to get CSP?

and what is the min credit score to be guaranteed to be approved for CSP?

I look at it as a $150 AF since it's so easy to get the $300 travel credit each year. I think we are going to try to keep one of these between DH and I. I doubt I'll get mine until he is ready to cancel his. Maybe 2 years each? Anyway, that's what I've been thinking. The $150 isn't so much more than the $95 and it comes with extra benefits. I'm still thinking about it though.

I hear ya. I cancelled my CSR after 2 years and dh's is 2 years now. I do like the $300 travel credit and I certainly get the effective $150 AF vs the $95 AF of the CSP but I'm at a point we are simply not using this card! There is rarely a redemption of points, other than cash back, that makes sense. We don't eat out much or travel a ton (where we actually pay for the travel haha!) so we are not earning many points those ways. I put most of my everyday spend on a card I'm working to meet MSR on. I think, of everything, we'd miss the lounges the most.
